It blocks alright. But it doesn't autostart, dies on its own sometimes, and has no notification in the bar so I can't tell when it is/is not working unless I open the app. Yes, I set the settings for autostart, and hiding is turned off.
Works well, got my home network mapped out. After being used for about an hour, however, it does seem to slow down (e.g. Sftp copying over WiFi starts at 10mbps, drops to 1 after 30 mins. Restarting the service brings it back to 10)
Does what is advertised, sort of... The active 'new' hosts file cannot be used while on a vpn connection. So you can have an active vpn or an active hosts file but not both. This decreases the overal usability of this application, at least for me that is.
Perfect to force safesearch My use case was to force safesearch of google and duckduckgo. Those two engines have a mechanism that relies on cname mapping, that is hostfile modification. Doing the change with this app was a breeze.
Works beautifully once you figure it out. Despite the name, it does NOT try to modify the hosts file. Instead it uses a VPN profile to do name resolution. Press Start and resolution using your definitions will happen until you press Stop.
PLEASE add "Always-on VPN" support, autostart doesn't work for me... I have to manually start and restart the app
So far works just as promissed and I gladly payed for the VIP version ... but keeps bugging me with the BUY icon on the top right corner... Do I not understand something or got to buy it twice 😁?
Works great so far, would be nice to set timer limits without being able to override easily.
hello please i bought this app twice 1st time i was install free version when i bought the vip version and install it i found no different and still have buy word and ads so i uninstall it and go to playstore to reinstall it but it gives me i have to buy it again and i sent you email about this and i bought once again but its still same free version so please now i paid 6.49 $ twice with no use i hope i refund my money back if you please

Hello. I bought your Hosts Go app last week and have been feeling good to use it. It helps me to solve the problem when I can't get access to some google services. Good job! But since I need to use google services a lot, it's a bit inconvenient when I have to frequently open the app, click start, and switch the app that I need to use and do the same thing when I need to turn it off. So a thought brings to me that if you can add a bottom to the notification toggle(the control deck below the notification bar when you swipe down the bar) so that I can turn it on and off very fast and without any hassle like I do to the WIFI, bluetooth etc. I really hope you can add this feature because it will help me like a ton. If you have any thought on this please let me know. Thank you!

Thanks, there are few good apps like this that i found!. Could you improve by: 1. removing the big start button and just have the on off sliders for hosts file and dns starting the service. That way one can change and run either hosts or dns OR both. 2. Enabling the services to run at boot. Even when i allow the app to start at boot one still needs to open the app and click the start button. Lastly, I did buy but still get nagged to buy in top rhs of app window
