Need to override attempts by Android system to put app to sleep. It's set to use background data and no battery optimization but somehow it doesn't run consequently I miss important weather information.
Just today it stopped working. It had opened and run without issue earlier in the day, but this afternoon it fails to start. Feedback has been submitted. I hope it's just something on the back end, because it's been a good weather app up til now. ***Update*** It's now 2022, and the app has been rock solid since the little glitch I mentioned above. I have nothing but praise for this app. I use it on my Android 11 phone and my HP Chromebook. It's my go-to app for weather information.
Simple, effective, but sometimes unreliable. I've been using this app for years in multiple states and love how easy it is to view all the info I need quickly with no junk. Also, being able to configure my "Hourly" page has been very nice to get it set up just the way I like it. However, at least 1-2 times a week for the last few years I have been using the app it will lose its ability to connect to the weather database and provide no forecast data whatsoever for minutes or hours at a time.
Excellent simplicity! This app has a widget which shows the current temperature. With one touch on this widget, I get a graph showing temperature, cloud cover, wind, and other quantities of my choosing extending over the next hours and days. I've tried many other weather apps, but none have delivered such a clear, cogent, and concise interface. A joy to use!
This app I would describe as having only the essential information. Current temp, feels like, wind direction, speed and gusts, precipitation, barometer pressure, and severe weather alerts. Giving only the essential info is one reason it's my favorite. Although I know air quality is important to many others, it doesn't impact me, so I don't need, or miss it. The other reason I like it is it's accuracy. I mean it's the NOAA, and it doesn't get much more accurate than that.
Works great most of the time. There are times when the forecast is "unavailable ". Not sure if that is an internet down type of situation, or the application's website issue. Either way, I will continue to invest in the "pro" version, as I feel that it is well worth it.
I've used this app for a long time and it's always had a glitch where at some point it doesn't download weather or update. I have to go through a whole rigmaro of deleting data in order to get it to work again which is annoying or even delete the app and reinstall it. It's getting old and I wish they would fix it.
Been using the free version for years. Have loved this app the entire time. Figured it was finally time to buy it and pay the developer. The reason this app has been so valuable for me is the ability to choose specific areas and not just those cookie cutter zip code spots that do no good for me when they can be 60 miles away.
It's been many years since I evaluated all of the weather apps, but after this one I've never had a reason to look further. I love the timeline, that gives a better appraisal of the weather than a verbal account. And the active map view gives storm cloud density and direction. Totally happy.
I went through at least half a dozen weather apps looking for the right one. They would all either have a great app and a bad widget, or a great widget and a bad app. While not perfect, this was the best balance of the two I could find.
finally! a weather app with clear data presentation, severe weather alert notifications, no fluff, and no subscription-based add removal. the customizable line graphs in the hourly tab are an essential feature use regularly to plan my day. absolutely worth the $2 for ad-free of NOAA weather data gathered in an easy-to-use app.
Excellent weather resource. Easy to use and easy to install. Wouldn't change it!
Lightweight & simple interface. A good GUI & a nice widget with NOAA data under the hood. I think The Weather Channel data is a little more accurate, but it's not worth the extra weight & intrusion to me.
Does not work. I've written the developers to either fix it, or refund my purchase. It gets one star until I hear from them. I never heard from the developers but it finally (after 3 days) started working. Seems to be very accurate.
I use it daily. It would be even better if it showed storm chance as well as rain, and if it showed time of each movement frame as it once did. And it's pure weather from the NWS without commercial suspense building.
Your app is always having problems downloading info and repeatedly reads ERROR....Why can't you upgrade your app to work better?? I like the simplicity of it so hopefully you can Improve it!!
I can always tell when a storm is moving through, because your app crashes while trying to down load the forecast! Only problem I ever experience is when the equipment fails.
The best weather app available. I've used a lot and NOAA's data has been the most reliable accurate, in my experience. This app makes that data delightfully usable on my phone. It's not perfect, but it's good enough that I paid for it.
If you just want NWS weather with the forecast discussion available this is simple and straight forward. Radar used to load slow on the maps but that seems to have been resolved. I've likely tried most weather apps at one time or another but this is my standard.
this app worked well for me until 2 days ago when it just quit being able to gather info from NOAA which made it useless. EDIT!! 01/05/22 I am rereviewing this app, as I may have accidentally figured out that it was the PHONE, just needing a restart, and the app is TONS better when the phone is working properly!! I have changed my review to a 5 star review, cause the app works perfectly, as well as the phone, when basic maintenance is done!! Now I'm going to use it on my brand new tablet!!!
Love it! Simple weather from trusted source without all the bloat. Highly recommended!
Update errors on widget for a few days now. If I open the app no errors and widget updates it's displayed content for first time since last time I opened it (many hours, like 13 hours). I already cleared its storage which did not help.
The charts are so helpful. The NOAA weather is always the most accurate. And you don't have to go to the website. You can use the app. With the premium version you can put in as many cities as you want and have instant access to their weather.
Great little app! I've been using this app for over 2 years and am really impressed by how the developer has continued to make subtle improvements and keeps the app up to date with ever-changing end user operating systems. Lots of useful information quickly available at a glance, the weather advisories are helpful and easily seen but don't get in the way of daily weather information. I especially like having the barometer reading available. Nice job!
