Frequently shuts down on it's own and then i get a threatening email from noblr about exorbitant daily charges. The app sucks my phone's battery dry. And when my wife and I both are in the same car, the app records the miles for us both.
Kept getting charged "offline rate" for a bug in their app! Customer service rep told me when I get their courtesy email about app being offline to give them a call. I've had to call several times and their app still fails. How convenient, make the customer call and tell Noblr their app is bugging out again, and again.... NOT WORTH THE PRICE
The app is not loading the UI correctly depending on smartphone screen. The data is getting stretched out on the right and you have to scroll sideways to view complete page.
It's exactly what I signed up for. I read the one-star reviews and those people clearly don't read before they sign up for stuff. Yes, it drains your battery (like every app that uses CONSTANT location services). Almost every insurance company offers something similar: a mobile app that tracks your location and sucks power, but on the flip side it makes your insurance cheaper. That's the point. My only complaint is the app needs to be manually updated and it frequently misses my drives.
Things were fine up til about a week ago when battery drain started sucking the life out of my phone. I've been with Android since its inception; I know all the tricks of the trade to allow an app to run in the background without it doing this. There needs to be an update or something. Also there needs to be a vacation mode. I'm not home currently and am not driving but have to constantly go in and delete trips or change the type. Very annoying.
Noble insurance is great. They charge you for how you drive and tell you how to drive to save money. I had a glass claim that was quick and easy. The app itself has some features I don't like but all very minor. Do I really need the Noblr icon on my notification bar at all times! I have no idea where others get some of these complaints. Draining battery? Mine's never more than 2%. Occasionally, my settings get changed and I'm notified and given ample time to fix. Never been charged extra.
Ultimately it's only good when it works which is few and far in between. It records my driving when I'm not which you can change within the app (again when it works) but otherwise it's a process I shouldn't have to consistently go through. I took it off my phone so they'll probably charge the highest possible variable rate but I got tired of having to monitor the app better than it monitored when I was driving.
ZERO STARS!!! They penalize you if you drive a certain mileage for work. Our bill went from 180 which was already too high to 246 all because my husband doesn't work in a 10 mile radius. Their app doesn't work correctly it will lag and not record all your trips even if you have it running in the background with no battery optimization on and location set to allow always they will charge you an offline rate of about $10 a day. They will say as a "courtesy" they will refund 35% instead of 100%
Great rates, friendly staff......Easy to use app. Where else can I get liability insurance for $23.27 a month? Yes, your monthly rate will increase a very small amount but that's because your not paying any money down on your renewal. The money you put down when you start the policy offsets your first 6 months of payments, but either way your still paying the same amount give or take after you renew, it's just that your payments are a bit more, mine went up about $5.00.
Edit down to 2⭐. I got a new phone and am unable to put the app on it because it's telling me it's already on another device. There's no way to deactivate the other device without calling them. 30 min wait for the call. Uses up my battery very quickly as it's always running. I like the concept and got a good rate but I'm not sure if I can deal with such a battery draining app for long. It would be nice to have an option to turn on just for drives so it's not always running and using up battery.
Since the update the app crashes and app doesn't appear stable. I barely drive and it did not track the few drives I did for at least a couple weeks. But hey, if you dont track the drives, that's on the app not us as drivers. It would be unreasonable to charge for drives not tracked. Not sure how other family members are doing. My driver ratings/ranking where null. I think the app is a little too harsh on the ratings putting me at 88. I think I'm a better driver...
Like most others say, they hook with a low intro and credits, but then once they have been used up after a couple months your price is higher than expected. I never had a consistent payment no matter how well you drive. You don't gain more credits either. You pay a huge monthly payment on top of your high initial and 6 month payment. I asked for a week extension on payment due to job loss and was refused and threatened a higher payment if I came back. Dishonest stay away!
Scoring is extremely harsh. I went out once for a quick 2 mi round trip drive using only side streets during rush hour, and my "road choice" score went down by 10 points (on a 100 pt scale). I've never had a hard brake yet and my "smoothness" score is down to 80 of 100. Feels like they try to rope you in with a nice introductory score, and then they nitpick everything to drive up your cost. Worried for what my rate will be in the end... And like others said, this app kills your battery
This app is a battery draining disaster. Consistently for the past week it has been amongst the top 2 battery draining apps on my phone, the difference I am actually using the other apps while this just eats up battery without reason. I am not driving or have my location on, but noblr decides to keep monitoring something. Drastic reduction in battery life after installing this app.
Tried to charge my card after I physically called and canceled my policy, mind you I no longer had the vehicle either.
Bad experience. Their apps had bugs and they send emails to clients that they will be charged offline rate. Not all happy with them
I do not recommend this company, my vehicle got broken into about an hour ago, the window was busted and some cosmetic damages are present in the exterior. It is freezing cold as well. I called noblr to file a claim and have been on hold listening to elevator music for almost an hour. I would never have to go through that with any of the well established bigger insurance providers. I will be switching as soon as possible.
Stopped working in May 2021. They charge you an offline rate if the app cannot get your location data. After I contacted them in May, they said they'd give me a credit and never did. They said they'd reach out to me after escalating to their engineering and they never did. They said they send notification emails if the app can't detect your location/trip data and never did. They ended up charging me another offline rate because their app doesn't work. Location services works for other apps.
I have several issues with this app. 1 to get the best driving score I am currently at 90 you have to drive so slow that you could inevetibly cause an accident. 2 the app crashes so much and emails sent wanting proof app is on so you have to screenshot blah blah not cool. 3 App interferes with my service so I have to turn on wifi. I agree we should have an option for when we are driving. App is way unstable PLEASE FIX THIS. Drive less save more uhmm NO NOT TRUE! Will be charged offline rate $$$
If I'm riding in the passenger seat while my husband drives, the app deducts MY good driving points for using the phone while driving... but I'm not driving! I am being penalized for using my phone while being a passenger. There needs to be something in the app that allows us to choose when we're driving or not because this is outrageous. Edit: There is no "drop-down trip menu" in my app.
Really great app. Great discounts. But I wanna know if there's an option to when you can turn off or switch nodes when you don't drive. You know what i mean? Like when your in an uber or another vehicle so that it doesn't mess with your score.
They don't go by your mileage. I went through and let them know that I wasn't driving my car but I guess they decided I was lying and still charged me for the miles. Over 3000 miles of driving. Nope, don't waste your time with this company. Our base rate went up around $20 for no reason also. Our driving scores were always in the 90s, even 98 some months. I thought this was the perfect insurance for us since we hardly drive our vehicles but we will be going to Progressive instead.
The app is atrocious - I barely drive so their insurance model it's great for me unlike other insurance companies that charge you no matter how much you drive but at the same time it's hard to get an accurate rate for your insurance because the app doesn't track your trips consistently. I need to contact them often to let them know the app isn't working
Has some issues. The app tells me I need to have better road choices. I called and was told to use interstates when possible. No can do. I live 5 miles from work and the nearest interstate will NOT take me anywhere near my job. So I can't improve on it. Be ready for rate changes, this app goes by miles driven. So Noblr development team why does it keep logging itself out?
Have to call them every time you change a device or make a change in your policy. App ALWAYS has to be open. Apparently getting an average over a few weeks or couple months of driving isn't good enough. So you're charged for every day the app isn't open. I wouldn't bother with this company if you can find better insurance for the money. Overall, company is a headache to deal with
The price of my insurance is great. The app needs some fixing. Can't download insurance cards or documents. The app closes when I try. I had to take a snapshot, send to my email, download and print.
App itself is sketchy. It's cheap but not in a good way. I was given multiple different explanations and nothing was made clear and each time I spoke with the same exact person. Also the payment system is extremely inaccurate.
Tried to install app on my new phone and it tells me that it is already installed on another device. I had already uninstalled the app on the old phone so there is no way that it is installed on another device. Tried to call customer service but of course no one answers. You app developers really need to get your act together and create an app that works.
Noblr, and my use of it, are new. But this app consistently uses the most battery of any app on my phone. Makes some sense with an app that tracks your every move, but the battery use far exceeds other apps. Aside from that, I'm fine with the app.
One parameter I will definitely disagree with is a Road choice. If you are good driver you are good anywhere in town. I drive same road to work and it's always changing in the app...really silly.
