This service has helped change my life for the better. I have been struggling with OCD in different forms throughout my life, but it took a turn for the worst in mid 2018. Since I started using this service in mid 2021, It's had a major positive impact. I would recommend this service to anyone struggling with OCD.
I haven't seen any ads tbh! This is the only OCD support I've partaken in because it's easy to use and actually helpful. I'm even considering the therapy option, even though they don't accept my insurance so I am staying with my current therapist as of the moment. They are very welcoming, understanding, affordable, and educational! Definitely the best decision I've ever made for my mental health! TLDR; it is easy to use, peaceful, and actually helpful!
Since the update can't post because the option is below my home key which usually disappears but won't now and the groups tab is gone. I can't find them and they were more helpful than the message board.
The app itself is okay, not super user-friendly but manageable. They really push their therapy which is quite irritating, especially as I don't live in the US. I also didn't find any of the SOS talks useful, unfortunately. They desperately need some moderators to uphold the community guidelines. 90% of the feed was people using it as their personal therapy service, and reassurance-seeking. As an OCD sufferer myself, I found it both irritating and depressing, so ended up deleting the app.
Very good app. It has helped me overcome a lot of my doubts and fears. The timer on the tracker is slow. Also, I don't like the overall set up of the app, I just think there is a lot to manage in terms of the hierarchy, and personally just prefer to work through my fear ladders on paper. I do like the looping effect of the loop tape, that has been very helpful.
It's a wonderful and graceful software that offer us information about the condition and help us to handle with itself. It has great functionalities, a pretty UI (user interface) and menu. The algorithm's issue I reported in has been fixed; the developers were friendly and attentive. Excellent work! (Thank you very much for solving the issue on the algorithm. 😙😊❤)
You're better off listening to the OCD Stories podcast and making your own calls. The therapy methodology they use is basically that all worries are OCD. All safety precautions or asking is reassurance. Trying to differentiate ocd from real concerns is just an ocd compulsion...literally just don't think for yourself EVer and never worry just "sit with the uncertainty " Obviously this only works if you live in a padded cell with handlers to care for your every need and whim.
I really like the whole concept of this app, but you need infographic style videos to explain the concepts and such more. The way it is is way too confusing for someone starting out as much as it is for someone whose experienced with this. Hope to see that change so the app is more user friendly for therapies.
Had to change therapist twice but I'm very happy with my current therapist, I feel some hope for my future now and I'm already improving a lot. Spirals are a lot shorter now that I've been facing my thoughts and not avoiding them. ERP is really working for me and my therapist is really reassuring without reassuring me or encouraging my reassurance behaviours if that makes sense lol. I feel understood and no longer judge myself for having intrusive thoughts. Highly recommend.
Brilliant app. It's so helpful for grounding yourself during an OCD spike or for advice if you're out and about. People share their thoughts and reply to your own pretty consistently. The only thing that could improve this app is a "Friend" function, so you could add friends to a friends list and message them.
App offers ocd forum. Also you can send and receive msgs with your therapist. You can't access your scheduled sessions on the app unfortunately, you have to access them on a separate site. Also it doesn't allow you to send your scheduled appts it to your personal calendar. I've experienced less than great communication from the OCD peer advisor when initially pairing with and setting up appts with a therapist. Overall the intentions are good they want to help you, it's worth trying!
I recommend anyone with ocd to check out the app. It's a great source for info and to look for help. I appreciate hearing others stories about their experience with ocd. It's helps through mine by not feeling alone but also realizing others deal with the exact same thing I do.
It feels like those who struggle with the same stuff I do don't try to help when I'm distressed and therapist charges are pretty high but lower than face to face ones around me
EDIT: I tried this app before and didn't have a good experience, but since my email was still set up I recently got an email that made me want to try it again. Before I don't think I used it correctly and there could have also been some changes, but now I have had a much more positive time on NOCD. I intend to give this thing a second chance and see what its true potential is. So far, it seems pretty good to me!
Best app to help manage OCD and talk with others about this condition. Love the helpful community where people really do share their personal experiences and support each other. The therapy feature is really innovative and I look forward to more features being added!
Very very helpful! It made me realize that I'm not alone! Haven't tried therapy sessions because it's not available here in my country. But, if ever if you can do a only texting therapy session that would be great! As someone who isn't comfortable to talk to someone infront of my family, that would be a blessing to get that feature.
This was a life-changing app. I met my co-sufferers and I don't feel alone anymore. My anxiety lowers whenever I use the tools included in this app. It's just very heartbreaking that the free call to a therapist is only available in US.
I'm recently diagnosed with OCD; I already have a gen. therapist but I was advised I'd make more progress with a specialist. I was skeptical about how an app might help but this has by far exceeded my expectations. I'm still learning info abt OCD+therapies I'd never even imagined & was partnered with the most helpful specialist I could ever ask for. They're also in-network with my insurance! Not mandatory but I joined the OCD org bc they're hosting Q&As throughout Oct (OCD Awareness Month) ☆☆☆☆☆
Helpful and has a simple layout, perfect to express everything and not hard to use at all, good supportive people you can talk to as well. Need wifi or data to use it though.
On therapy with them and needless to say I would 100% recommend it. The professionals are incredibly understanding and helpful for guiding me through the treatment, and helping me understand myself and OCD, as well as my other comorbid conditions. Not only is it just therapy, but a community for those with OCD alongside support groups. Even though I had to pay for therapy, it is worth every penny as well as having to not wait on a long waiting list on the NHS just to be seen. 5/5
Great App. The only reason it's one star short is because teletherapy isn't available outside the US. I hope there are plans to expand. This service is so desperately needed for people around the world who can't afford in-person therapy.
Life changer. The community and tools are just the best. Sadly i can't afford a therapist, but it doesn't matter.
Good therapy platform....app needs work. Just links to browser. The exercise I terrace could be better
The idea of an app that brings people with the same mental disorder together to aid in recovery is great. The execution is bad. I've met so many nice people through this app but most of them are so uninformed and constantly ruminate and seek reassurance. You don't beat OCD by doing compulsions. The people in the community can be a bad influence on newbies. Nonetheless I really like the exercise tools and the mods are very polite, I hope nocd therapy will be available outside the US soon :)
Chat can be really anxiety-inducing so I'd watch out for that. The app is also really intrusive in the way it keeps pushing you to get therapy with them, even though I already have a (much more affordable) therapist. The erp section is nice but I'll look for another app that is just that without the extra fluff.
