Nordea Wallet

ALWAYS UP TO DATE

Nordea Wallet keeps track of your cards for you. It’s an easy way to check your balances, card payments and cash withdrawals.

Did the payment go through? The app informs you about all card purchases, including internet shopping and automatic charges. You can also view a monthly category overview of your card usage.

All transactions are immediately shown on the app to make sure you’re always up to date.

To use Nordea Wallet you need a Nordea card and an authentication method (BankID, Mobile BankID, NemID or the Codes app).

PAY WITH YOUR MOBILE PHONE

Take Google Pay into use and you no longer need your wallet to go shopping. Make small purchases just by taking your phone close to the payment terminal, as you would when making a contactless card payment. Purchases over 25 euros you verify by unlocking the phone.

Google Pay works anywhere where contactless payment is possible. Around the world.

Thanks to the new Masterpass feature, Nordea Wallet is now also a handy shortcut to paying online. In Masterpass-supporting online stores you can verify Visa and Mastercard payments with the Nordea Wallet app without typing in your details. Masterpass is available in Finland and Denmark.

I really love the app! Categorization is simple and it really gives me a good overview of my spending. Love the CO2 emission page also. Damn those flight tickets messing up my data! Although I agree with some of the other reviewers - when I change a category for a purchase, it would be extremely useful if I was able to change it for all the previous and/or future ones from the same source. Would decrease the need for micromanagement.

This is a great app to keep a tab on expenses. I love its notifications! Nothing has been more effective in losing weight than this apps' notification after I eat out. I can see several past transactions (with dates and amounts) made at the same place and total amount of money spent on food in the last few weeks. It shames one into imoroving their spending habits. 5/5 recommend it to everyone trying to lose weight, budget better, shop less!

A very well-designed app, but I would appreciate an option for automatic log-off (such as in the mobile bank). The log-in functionality could be similar to the mobile bank. I don't want to manually log off, but not have an app that can see all my finances automatically either. I assume this wouldn't be a hard thing to implement, so I look forward to seeing this in the future!

Great app, gives a nice overview of your spending and can compare it with previous periods in time, week, month, year, etc. The only thing that I would really like before I can give this app 5 stars is to be able to change the category of purchases from a shop permanently, it is really annoying to have to do it for every purchase seperately.

Until now the application was great, but I've just updated the version, and the balance no longer shows on the card, despite the option being enabled in the settings. Also, I tried to send the feedback directly through the application, but I repeatedly got a comment 'Unable to send the feedback. Please try again.' There's some problem with this update.

Good app, very useful and responsive, works quite fast even on the older phone. One thing I am missing so far is in-app notification settings. I receive updates each time I purchase something, I don't need them now, but maybe in some case (e.g. When I am in another country). I know that I can block them in android settings, but if you made them, make settings for them please. Otherwise great job!

Edit: The app rolled out an update and now it's finally working! It's great, gives me a very clear overview of my expenses! I wish there was a bit more category options when defining the type of purchases made, sometimes none of the categories fit. Old: The app gets stuck in authentication, not been able to use it even once, a clean reinstall sadly doesn't fix the issue. :/

excellent service, you bank account at a glance. I particularly like how easy it fetches historical data from your account and show them in a graphical way. way more useful than the export function from website. Also it calculate the total paid so far from a recurring expense, like internet or taxi. Good to have especially if you already have the mobile app and the code app on the phone

Updates immediately after purchase which is good. I'm missing an option to put a whole store to be automatically sorted in another category, as manually going through it and fixing takes a bit of time. I also wish there were categories in shopping and home purchases that were 2nd hand, but it's not that important. Just weird to get a high emission score from buying something from fretex. I also wish it could import bank transfers and vipps as well

Great app, though needs some improvement: ability to manage my expenses manually. For example, I transferred 100 euro from my second account and withdraw it at ATM immediately. The app counts it as my expenses this month, though it's not true, and I would like to be able to delete it from "card usage" report

Tried it once. Everything was supposed to be working, but it just did not react to the payment when tapping the payment terminal with the phone. Nothing happened. Also, the phone does go to sleep when trying to pay and you don't touch the screen. Not so useful. Will try it later but so far not so good.

Update: nemID login appears to be working again. So updated to 4 stars. Same problem as another reviewer. For the last week or 2 the app keeps forgetting the nemID login. This pretty much makes this app completely useless. I liked getting the notifications of expenditure on cards, but it effectively logs out completely and no more notifications. Reinstall changes nothing. Why break things that work?

Useful app that might save you big time regarding returns. No worries if you have lost the original receipt. Against demonstrating the purchase time and last four digits of the credit card, the store has a legal liability to be able to print a receipt for your return (at least in Finland). So just locating the purchase in Nordea Wallet is enough. 😊

For past 18 months there has not been any problems. Works as I would expect any App shows card usage. Statistics could be better and there some unnecessary (low quality) coupons, but thay aren't in main view.

Good app although would be nice to have a feature to modify or delete some of the payments, and add payments manually. Because sometimes you pay something for your friend and then he pays you back, so it would be easier to follow the real amounts if you could modify them.

grouping of stuffs, can be edited/remove some purchases. Showing monthly expenses. Some feedback maybe, would be nice if we can edit the monthly start/end date (and the monthly expenses will adjust as well). I think there is a way still to make it even "easier" to use.

Tel. Å. Nov 27, 2020

There is no way to disable the emission feature. The values that are presented are completely arbitrary with no correlation to reality of the given transction. For examle the digital purchase of a game on Steam had a higher emission score than a home delivered pizza. It makes no sense at all. The values from the Åland index are useless when looking at an individual level and transaction level. Digital goods and services are also not taken in to account properly. It is just confusing noice as is.

Nice app with a slick UI and easy to use. One key feature is missing: being able to assign specific vendors to always be listed in a specific purchase category. Now you need to manually change every purchase one by one if you wish to alter the category.

Ric. C. Jan 24, 2020

It just bad, some transaction don't work, there use to be. An half decent features for comparing different currency values, it was the best thing of the app and they tool it down in this new version. Also some options just send you to the web page, why am I using the app if all it does is iperlinking me to the webpage, so pointless. Embarrassing

It's a good expense and carbon footprint tracker. I love the simple interface. Categorization features can be improved. The change of category for some expenses cannot be applied retroactively which is strange.

Leo. A. B. Feb 2, 2020

It shows me notifications of card usage, but the app itself always shows "something went wrong" when I try to open it. EDIT: All my applications are up to date, and this has been going on for many months. Through reboots and updates.

Jar. A. May 16, 2019

This is handy but missing some features. It would be nice to get a notification when there is a positive payment. Many people are often waiting to get some money and have to check again and again if they got it. Also would make the user experience more positive when it isn't all about losing money :)

Gar. W. Jan 30, 2020

It's actually a good app but in my opinion completely unnecessary. All the functionalities of this app I would expect to see in the regular Nordea app. Plus, I personally don't see the benefit of only seeing my card transactions but not my other expenses that can be categorized in the same way.

And. B. Mar 5, 2021

Please fix that when you have eye and fingerprint detection/authentication, usually you never have time to put finger on sensor because "too many attempts with fingerprint" when camera have been looking at ceiling. At the very least change error message to indicate biometric and not fingerprint. Very annoying.

Arj. K. Sep 29, 2018

The clean modern interface and clearly shown data helps me get a nice overview of my expenses. Comparing month to month has proved to be a useful exercise. I wish I could manually add entries or edit information for my needs though.

Kal. K. Dec 11, 2018

Used to be a handy app for contactless payments before Google Pay integration. Now it is confusing and there doesn't seem to be a way to enable authorization for the payments! Earlier it asked for a PIN. Also there's no way to add card related widget to desktop anymore.

keb. Sep 16, 2021

It works, although it consistently has issues dealing with negative payments (received). Nordea has way too many apps, and I'm tired of always having to go to a different app to do basic things. And stop pestering me to let you invest my money. Also, stop counting my max negative withdrawal as "available money" when I just want to know how much money I have.

Kar. H. Nov 8, 2018

Not compatible with Android 9.0? Doesn't work any more for payments like it used to. I just changed a phone, I used to have OnePlus 3 and now I have OnePlus 6T with Android 9. In the previous phone I was able to choose whether I want to use debit or credit as default - but this option doesn't exist any more. Also the red payment button on the right bottom corner of the screen has disappeared. So now when trying to pay at a cash register with a phone, nothing happens (NFC is activated and Nordea Wallet chosen as the default app for payment). With my previous phone I only needed to activate the phone with the power button, and not even start the Nordea Wallet app, and it always worked. When I called to the bank (already twice), they advised me to activate the payment with the red button. Hmm, tricky to do since the button is no more there. Now, on the second call, the only advice I finally got (after 5 times the person asking for help from a colleague) was to install Google Pay as a payment method. This is really strange - is Nordea forcing the usage of Google Pay within their app? I would not like to give my payment information to Google, but rather keep them between me and my bank.
