As soon as you connect internet speed drops by more than half. If you past the 30 days you won't get your money back. There are better VPN options that are fastest. When you contact support you get a laundry list of things to try to fix. In the past service and speed was great but not anymore. I don't change any settings for connection speed to change. What a disappointment.
One of the best VPN I've ever used The Nord doesn't slow down your bandwidth as much as the other VPNs I've used. The speed is top-notch, usually doesn't seems to slow down or have any latency issue (based on normal browsing usage, video streaming and using Office 365. Can't comment on the gaming or other high bandwith demand stuff). One of the issue I encountered was; some of the sites fail to load stating DNS failed (sometimes the site work if you turn off threat protect lite).
Very very very slow and slows down my internet connection profoundly. Takes several minutes to connect only to say "something went wrong. Try again?" and when it does, I can't even load a text web page. I always preferred ExpressVPN but chose to try this out because of the tons of the good reviews and recommendations. Very disappointed.
Disclaimer: the actual product itself isnt bad. It usually works as intended with its occasional disconnection but I stopped using it for several months. When i got charged again for the next year, it was less than a day into the subscription and they wouldnt refund me so just make sure you cancel on time. It wont let you do it through the app. Must be done on website which is what caused this issue.
It does not work I had a subscription and it was wasted money. It never worked on my laptop and it made my phone slower. Also, they don't give you a heads up on upcoming autorenew. Which is the default option. So out of the blue you'll be billed for 100 bucks. And they don't refund autorenew. Their money is made on having a system that is hard to navigate. Basically a scam.
Used to love NordVPN but lately the Android app has become completely unusable. Internet slows down to a crawl within minutes of connecting to a server and I need to keep manually reconnecting for my internet to work. If I don't, I experience speeds of about 1 KB/s or no connection at all. As soon as I disconnect, everything loads just fine.
I don't know what happened to this app. It used to be amazing it worked perfectly, it used to never get disconnected but now literally doesn't even work for two minutes. I have to change servers so frequently that it's not even worth using at this point and I have a two year plan so now i'm stuck. I have a galaxy s22 ultra so there really shouldn't be any problems. I only use it on one device as well.
overall is good, except when it is not. sometimes there are glitches where your mobile do not have internet connection because the app get stuck trying to connect to a server. Google play sometimes do not work. Streaming services sometimes do not work. Notifications sometimes do not work. To all those problems you need to open the app and force a connection to another server in the same or different country. I notice these kind of issue like once or twice a week.
I am running Nordvpn on my Pixel 5 5G. When moving throughout my home between access points, the phone tries to connect to the nearest access point but the VPN doesn't connect. The notification area status shows "reconnecting". I have to open it and click cancel and then connect to get it working. This happens almost 100% of the time. I have app set to reconnect automatically on WIFI in the settings.
Been using the service for three years, thinking about subscribing for another 2-year plan. Been highly reliable, great piece of security, though connection has been noticibly spotty since the last few updates to the app across most if my devices. Also, the Albania server keeps disappearing from the app. Reinstalling it seems to work, but last time I tried, it didn't show up. Hope it'll all get fixed soon.
So far so good, except "losing" money. After the free trial it automatically renews as the one year subscription, which is to be expected (and I was happy to not have to do anything). However, the next day I got an email offer for 58% off on my first subscription which I can't use. Either that's poor timing on whoever runs the subscription side of things, or something shady that wasn't fixed on purpose.
It is constantly being updated and disconnecting. It gives you no warning or notification your disconnected. It is incredibly random when it decides to disconnect and the "auto" connect feature does not reconnect at all you have to constantly check your phone to make sure your connected and I've been in multiple public areas now and checked and it's no longer connected with no warning. The only thing you can rely on from this app is that it will leave you unprotected when you need it the most.
Turned the "Help Us Improve" switch ON after an update. Don't change my settings without my permission, ty! Looking forward to the month ending, so I can leave Nord! -OLD REVIEW- Charged me ahead of due date, after years of use and caused an overdraft fee! Speeds have slowed since the last 2 updates. Browser plug-in doesn't work 95% of the time because it won't connect. They refused to rectify the early charge! I will be going to ExpressVPN. Sad but, they're all about the money now, apparently!
I've been using for years. Used to be great. Now it is much slower and I'll often have troubles getting internet when leaving wifi and switching over to Mobile data. Never used to have this problem until the past few months. When I uninstall Nord, the problem is solved. I'm just disappointed I payee for a whole year ahead with multiple users. Feels like a waste of money now :(
I really like the app and for all the people complaining about the cost of a service, please grow up. Services cost money. I have a question: My NordVPN (I have a premium subscription) app for Google Tv worked perfectly for all the sites. Just recently, it is not working correctly. This can be seen quite easily as the home menu of my chromecast always refreshes correctly when the VPN works correctly. At the moment, this refresh of my installed apps is not working and the sites I currently use are not working. Hope a new update for the android tv app could fix this issue soon.
This is very frustrating as it is constantly disconnecting me. And there is no notification that reliably pops up. It is hit-and-miss so The whole purpose of having a VPN is defeated and I'm very disappointed in Nord as I expected consistency from them. When this contract expires will be looking at other options.
Worked well for several months. Now I often have to pause the connection just for things to update. I additionally use Google Voice and it causes connection issues with that program as well. I have also switched between security types and continue to have issues. I do understand that it may be compatibility with my Pixel 6 Pro since it is software challenged. Hope the kinks get worked out soon.
Both with windows and android, internet connection resets (interruption = disconnect and then reconnect). Drops to extremely slow speed and/or buffering with all devices connected to high speed fiber optic internet only with Nordvpn connected. All started shortly after changing from monthly to a year billing. I have tried all 3 encryption protocols with same result and am not using the kill switch feature. Do not want to change gateway settings as everything works fine after Nord uninstall
This app worked great at first, notnsure if there was some kind of update but now the VPN randomly has connection issues not allowing a internet connection and me missing notifications. At times I am unable to even open the app when this occurs. Other than that when it is connecting properly the network is fast and options in the app are seamless and mostly easy to use.
Nordvpn is having a lot of problems, since January 2022 their service has gotten really bad. Can't log on like I used to, the VPN disconnects as you have to reconnect all the time now. It's not the same they're having some internal problems I've used it on several devices and they're all doing the same thing. Other people are having these problems as I think that Nordvpn is expanding and it's affecting their service. I've called them they tell me there's no problems which is not the case.
This works great most of the time. I have always been able to connect to wifi at work but a lot of sites are blocked for business reasons. 🙃 This app allows me to access everything with no fuss. The only gripe I have is when I'm at home with no restrictions to where I can browse then my connection gets wonky and slow sometimes. Forcing me to either restart the app or close it all together. I also noticed that with some streaming apps (phone only). They won't connect while running the app.
