This app almost perfect like what I need but there's has little bug I found. After I give a temporary to connect some application can access Internet but some application can't, I even already allowed the connection but still cannot connect properly after I Uninstall it the application can connect again... I will look further for fix update :D Thx~
Not bad, but it misses usage comfort. Example: In case you want to block specific domains analyse an app and write everything down, then manually enter it in the blacklist. This becomes tiring quickly, especially for browsers. It also misses per-app blacklists. Other than that pretty solid work.
What's sad here is that I wanted to like this up. But when this firewall is active it blocks my sms app Textra from sending and receiving MMS messages... after extensive tech support with Textra it was determined that it is in fact THIS app that's faulty. Zero response from developers. Someone that doesn't care to reply about their app but wants a ton of permissions... well....use at your own risk... uninstalling
This was my first firewall. But due to battery draining issue i have to switch to another one. Recently i revisited this app and gave it another shot. Yes this time no battery drain and no doubt it is the most comprehensive and easy to use firewall. Though one suggestion. 'Usage Access' have to be manually enabled. If the user doesn't know about enabling this, background blocking feature won't work. So the app must prompt to enable 'Usage Access'. That's All. Great Work.
All is well in your app, your app actually works. Only one thing that will make the app perfect is , lets say i goto pending apps column, just below the apps , there should be 3 buttons availablel for us to click like remove, allow for ever , allow for 10 minutes and allow for 30 minutes. we goto pending apps column , we find the app in the list and a single click , done rather than clicking once , clicking again to see allow for 1 hour, clicking allow for 1 hour , clicking ok , ohmy god , how many clicks man. correct this please
After acquiring my new phone, I wanted to be able to keep an eye on my apps, and in particular my concern about them phoning home. I tried 3 other no root firewalls before settling on this app. Setup is easy and you can control pretty much every aspect of your apps connections. A job well done to the developers!
Worked fine on my android moto g4 phone until today. Now cannot enable No Root Data Firewall after disabling for TalkU app wifi call. Found older review stating user could re-enable only after reinstall! Shall try NetGuard.
Nice app but some applications (e.g. google photo backup) won't work until you disable the firewall. I understand that there maybe no workaround for that. the problem is if you forget to switch it on again... How about a widget that allows you to disable the firewall for 5/10/15 min,. Or something similar. Then the app would deserve 6 stars. Because everything else works just fine.
I use this right along with app lock to block certain inappropriate sites from children. With this app locked with a a password. The settings can't be tampered with. Works great for blocking background data. When some apps are constantly working. I select the I ones I want run on screen shots off in background. My battery doesn't drains faster that way. That feature is important to.
Superb and mind blowing app. It really blocks everything as it says. However, I'm having a problem only when I try to use Hotspot for sharing with other devices. I don't know which one is the setting to go for sharing data by Hotspot. Only after disabling this app, I can share data via Hotspot.
This app does Save a ton of data. But there's a problem. I'm a FreedomPop user which means I require mobile data to call and text. I whitelisted the data permission for the FreedomPop apps and Google Play Services however I can not longer call or text. It does work sometimes but a lot of times it stops my calls and texts.
I've used a few different no-root firewalls and some older ones... This one is the best. No Ads, great chart on how much data is being used by each app, restrict background data usage only, easy interface, and very effective at blocking unwanted traffic from apps. Some firewalls are unable to block all traffic and still gets thru, but Not with this firewall. Great job!
Brilliant!! The option to disallow apps from accessing the net in the background has easily quadroupled battery life and of course raised the bar on my sense of security. I can't believe how quiet my Acer Z630 is now. Bravo! All firewalls should have this capability. This is the only one I've found that has it...and it's free. Amazing. Thank you!!
Perfect! I tried a bunch of these apps and this one is THE ONE! For each separate app you can specify, differently for mobile and wifi, to block all data to it, block background data but allow foreground data, allow all data, or notify you whenever that app wants to connect, at which point you can choose to allow or deny, foreground or background, forever, for one hour or for 5 minutes (VERY interesting to see which apps are connecting all the time) I can set up profiles to use when I have lots of data to allow everything, when I'm running low on data data to allow only my vital apps to have data. Plus a whole lot more but with the greatest easy to understand interface!
Not able to share files via Wi-Fi Direct when the firwall is turned on and works when I turned it off. Same issue with mobile hotspot.
It works because it stopped play store connection while I was typing a review. 3 stars BC I'm testing it. Needs dark theme option and notification sound when a new connection is made.

If you happen to have bought a phone and the root is still being worked on, this IS the firewall you want, and it's free. I read the about section and it explains something about the wall being set with the VPN, which is apparently tech talk for yea, nothing coming in. This free app, even stops Google and forces a decision call. The OS itself, asks for permission. And it's free. You got say, a Z981 metrobloat float, and root still not made. Get this and stop the bloat absolutely. (Update) I love you super smarty VPN thingy that stops muh battery from being eaten alive by bloat zombies. Muah
Was great. But now I can not text with it on when it is supposed to allow my message app to use data. I have to turn it off to use my phone.
It works great. Better than others and easy to use. Have to shut it down to print and to install updates for some reason. I have had issues with hackers accessing through port 23 as reported by Fing. DEVS Is there any way you can add port blocking to this great app and for it to be enabled even if the firewall is turned off. Then ill give it a 5 star for sure
