North Connected Home Bulb

The light itself is amazing and it really does give you the scale of colors you want. I do wish it was a tad bit brighter but that's not that big of an issue. My main concern is that after a while of having the app up and running and everything going smoothly when I would try to click on the device to adjust the color scale it kept closing my app and saying it stopped working. I even restarted my phone and tried that but still nothing. I'm gonna try to uninstall it and redownload it.

I really want to like this app/product, but it took forever to pair the bulbs (had to contact customer service) and the app consistently fails to open! Would be cool to be able to have certain functions work properly, like groups and timer...or be able to change group color, which doesn't seem to be a function. The music setting is kind of cool, but seems more like a trigger for an epileptic seizure than anything.

Inconsistent connection to the bulb, sometimes works, usually doesn't even if you keep trying over and over to reconnect. The app layout is really terrible and offers no sort of help when nothing will connect. Sometimes when it IS working and you try to lower the brightness, the color changes to something else randomly and you have to reset the color. The app has 4 slots to save custom colors and that's it. If the bulb is turned off and on manually(not through the app), the whole thing resets, flashing through the colors and leaving a bright white light. This is an awful product and an even worse app. Save yourself a big headache and do not buy anything related to this!

okay, but needs work. Favorites do not save properly much of the time, saving a black dot which does nothing. Needs widgets, chase/fade controls. Connection drops too easily, too often. Timers need to allow us to schedule color and brightness, not just on/off and be repeatable for future use. This feels more like a prototype than a final product. Too much functionality is missing.

This is just garbage. The app keeps saying to have my light bulb on and in pairing mode... As I have it on in front of me. There's no way to put it into "pairing mode" and even if it were connected (which it was just a few min ago) you would have to turn the light off and back on again to be able to change the color or even operate the cheap pos of a smart bulb. I would highly not recommend.

Paired up fine, and app works reliably. There are a few other problems, though. It does not have a truly "warm" white setting, even the presets are really cool colored. There is no white on the color wheel, so I can't set my own choice of warm white. The color wheel is clunky and barely works, and the bulb has a hard time keeping up. The timer is a joke, you can only set it for a half hour increment. I want to set my bulb to turn on at a specific time in the morning, but that's not possible.

Zero stars. Avoid at all costs. One out of 2 bulbs won't show up in app. One works for about a minute before it stops responding to commands. The other gets ridiculously hot and never appears in device list. App has decent features and icons you can customize, but if it doesn't work with the bulbs it's useless. RETURNING for a refund immediately!

Disconnects constantly. I have to delete the device and re-add it multiple times before it works. Sometimes I have to unscrew the bulb and screw it back in before it will work. It resets it's color if I use the light switch. Makes the app and bulb literally useless. I'd rather pay more for something that actually works. Doesn't even have PC app or any sort of API.

Terrible bulb. The first time around I was able to connect it easily, but the color changing wasn't responsive most of the time. Now, the app crashes when I'm trying to connect to the bulb. Had to uninstall and reinstall, but now it won't even find the damn bulb. Horrible, not worth your time or money. Just save up for a more expensive and worth while bulb.

Absolutely Horrible! The light bulb is a great idea I won't say that it's not one of the reasons why I bought it. But it would help if the app would actually connect to set light bulb. Instead I now have just alight and doesn't do anything except when you turn it on it changes colours and then it goes to a white soft glow which I like but I bought it in order to actually have some fun with it ad occasionally change the colour when I am reading to a soft blue or something like that.

Won't connect. I followed all the directions to the T and then even some of the advise of some others in the reviews and still nothing. The developers deserve 0 stars and a thumb tack to the foot. If you can't make a product that works when connected, properly installed, and VISIBLE TO MY WIFI then why is it on shelves? This app is trash and the device search doesn't work at all no matter how many times I unscrew it, turn it off, reupload it. It's complete garbage.

The app works. But that's putting it gently. As of right now there are plenty if bugs that NEED to be fixed to make this a good app. The connection to the lights is good, but grouping said lights and trying to control color, brightness, and color changing options while grouped is impossible. If you set a timer and try to select another light to change the colors the app closes. So yes there are plenty of problems to this app that hopefully will be addressed but overall this app works decently well.

This app is sad It took me a little bit to get the bulb to connect, but the first time it did I was able to do so much with the app- change the color and use the shake and music modes. Now all I can do is set timers and turn the light on and off from the app. Which is fine, I guess... but I am sad that those parts of the app work but they are just inaccessible, probably because the app hasn't been updated in a long time. Makes sense why this bulb was discounted.

Trying for nearly an hour to connect via bluetooth through the app, my phones bluetooth recognized it, although the app still just says searching. I've tried getting closer, turning it off and back on, closing and reopening the app, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but nothing is working. If it doesn't work soon I'm going to take it back.

The colors are cool, easy to install, and app is simple.... however I keep finding myself having to turn the lamp on and off to reconnect, once you close the app and reopen it it wont connect, once you reconnect it crashes. I mustve downloaded this app like 50 times already. I'm going back to my Thomas Jefferson bulbs. Those never failed me. 😂😂😂LG people buy LG.

Patience is key when installing. it's not as simple as scanning and selecting a new blue tooth device (like pairing headphones). Pairing requires selecting the device and inputting the PIN 1234 or 0000 request. Next use the app to "add new device". During these steps, be aware that multiple "permission requests" will pop-up. these must be granted before pairing can be successful. This can take several minutes of back and forth button pushing and much colorful language. Good luck.

The app is kinda clunky and the interface is a little difficult at times, but usually it has no problem for me at least connecting to my light. Sometimes I'll have to reset it, but rarely. The music sync option is worthless, and usually makes my light bug out and dim into random colors. Overall it's okay.

I put it in a lamp to test it and it was a complete failure. You have to physically turn the light on every time you want to use it, which makes it completely useless. I have had no problem connecting to it and adjusting the colors after turning it on, but let's face it, that's a pretty minor PRO compared to the CON of not being able to turn it on remotely. This light bulb might be useful under the right conditions. But 99.9% of the people who buy this light are going to be disappointed.

To the girl who said you had to allow app permissions, THANK YOU! The app goes through the permissions so fast that I couldn't accept them as they came through the screen so I had to manually do it through my phone settings. But, I struggled with connecting this app to the bulb for well over a half hour. It was only $10 so I wouldn't have been mad if I tossed it but I was determined to try everything to get it to work.2 * because it finally worked but took a lot of time and frustration to do so.

Constantly disconnects. I have to power cycle my bulb anytime I leave to room or don't control it for a few hours. For no reason, the app will stop controlling the device. It was cheap, and I expected some quirks, but the product simply doesn't do its intended function 90% of the time. Please fix!

Bulb didn't connect at all after multiple tries, restarts, etc. I'm really disappointed. Edit: I monkeyed with the permissions and it paired. I'm concerned it will unpair but it looks like it's staying put for now. The color wheel is a little bit glitchy. Haven't tried the other functionalities of the app yet.

the lights turned on, most of the time. Three lights in one fan, could get two to switch colors/brightness but the third was unresponsive. Reset and the app kept crashing while trying to manage a group of 3 lights. return the lights, uninstall the app, drop a handful of cash on a light that actually is smart.
