How does Northeastern RedEye work?
- Northeastern RedEye is an on-demand travel concept that takes multiple passengers heading in the same direction and books them into a shared vehicle. Using the Northeastern RedEye app, input your address and we’ll match you with a vehicle going your way. We’ll pick you up at the designated pick-up zone at Snell Library and drop you at the doorstep of your off-campus residence. Our smart algorithms provide journey times that are comparable to a taxi and much more convenient than other modes of travel.
How long will I wait?
- You'll always get an accurate estimate of your pick-up ETA before booking. You can also track your minibus in real time in the app.
How many passengers will I share a vehicle with?
- RedEye specializes in shared-rides, so you will share a ride home with other Northeastern students who are traveling in a similar direction. You will be able to book a ride for yourself and one guest.

The concept of the service is great, but the algorithm that assigns rides is absolutely trash. Many a ride is going with half the seats empty and yet people who really need it cannot get a ride for the sole reason that there isn't another person looking for a ride in the same direction as you. Not a service I can rely on.
This app is totally useless. It always shows high demand. We cant book the red eye even after trying for 2 hours. Please fix this problem by increasing the frequency of vehicles orelse we are bound to complain to the NUPD.
Terribly implemented idea. I have never received a ride despite many requests. Rides go to people who just happen to click the button at the right time.
Having a good UI doesn't mean you provide a good service. Terrible, would walk 30 minutes rather than booking through this app.
It gets bad every single time you ride. Forget about it if you looking for a ride between 2am - 5am. Driver accepts, but never arrives at pick-up location. I hate it.
I can not use this app because it's stuck. I have called everyone possible and no one can do anything about it. What am I supposed to do? The app just won't work. Horrible experience.

Tales min 45 mins to book cab everyday.
Horrible experience with the new app and the red-eye service in total. It's nearly impossible to get a seat, as everything is booked out (even if vans are half empty). For the couple of times where I was lucky to get a seat, the van was delayed by more than 20 minutes. Therefore the pickup time is useless. In some cases my reservation completely disappeared without notice...after I waited for over 40 minutes. I would have walked faster but I prefer not to walk thru sketchy areas in the night.
