This app has a paid version which crashes on startup and the developer refuses to fix. The paid version has been broken since December I guess they get more money from the ads aren't interested in fixing the problem with the paid version.
The pros: simple, single-page display, ads not too distracting, notifications. The cons: white bar at bottom of screen obscures OS soft buttons, spelling mistakes/typos in the options ("emisphere"). Forecast time is in UTM not localized. On/off sliders turn gray when on. "//" used as word seperators in titles.
I compared the data on this app on NOAA Space Weather and it didn't match in the slightest. I made sure everything was refreshed. This app also says cloud cover in my area, but it is clear. The app says 12% chance of aurora, but the aurora is out faintly. I don't want to mislead anyone and have them miss the aurora, so i can't recommend this app.
Great tool for catching the light show. Had plenty of opportunities to see them in Iceland but where I live now I use this app to watch for viewing times. We don't get to see them often by thanks to this app, unless we are hindered by clouds, we head out into the night and enjoy the show. aid you live in any of the northern most stats check it out, set up the alerts for when it is strong enough to be seen in your area and enjoy.
Useless app, whenever it gets close it turns off. Don't waste your time. 4th night in a row it's let us down so won't be using it again. Aurara alerts is much more reliable.
This app showed 0% possibility of seeing the Northern lights in our area for March 13th and 14th 2021. Yet they were blazing away all night long, both nights, seen by my neighbors but not myself because I was assuming the app was correct. Very disappointed.
I paid extra for NO ads First time I use the app I get an ad from Pemco Insurance. If they misrepresent not having ads to get paid, how good can the app be. I'm uninstalling
I tried 3 aurora apps and this one was always the best one, even if far from perfect. The forecasts for Tromsø were always a bit conservative but I might have been lucky :)
The graphic forecast displays differently every time when reseting. ///// Both Graphs, it displayed the Northern Lights being in Alaska, after resting it display back to Canada.
A bit confusing, not much explanation what's going on. Other apps have more useful data but overall not bad.
Haven't used this as much as I should to rate the app. So far, I like it. Will get back with you after more time has passed, allowing me sufficient use to rate properly.
Ok, but maddening that it doesn't adjust to local timezone. This is not a difficult operation and it's always tedious to try to turn it's data (which it UTC) into local time.
Saw it in Narvik last night! Not the brightest ever, I'm sure, but our first. Wonderful! -------- I'm now trying to use the app on my new phone, a Samsung A12, and it doesn't work.
not sure if it actually works, have friends all with the same issue. would be great if it would have local time!
I always opening this app whenever I want to wait for the northern light. It's not always accurate but most of the time is true
Nice app. However it keeps asking me to rate the app, otherwise it will not allow me to use the app, even when I have already posted a 4-stat rating. I am reducing it to 2 stars.
Not accurate as when you pick a point on the map for lights prediction it goes you to other point and not the one set by you.
I like the application, sometimes the map how stops working but you just close and open again the app that fix it, great information btw
I have had this app for awhile now and I used to get notifications and now I have not any for quite some time now so I don't know when it's going to happen so I would like to know what is happening with it my Bro has the same and he has check all settings and all is good
pro version crashes on Android12. Starts up, then abends straight away.
Got this app as we regularly travel North and photograph Aurora's. Till date this app has not failed us on data. Rest is up to nature! My only hiccup is that after the last update it crashes often after starting the app. But I use the free version. Will not complain. Overall, awesome job. Suggestion - try and include a tip section on photography. Users could possibly contribute knowledge!! Edit: Dev team great to hear from you. Kudos on picking a comment and reverting! The crashes have been happening since the last update. Not so very frequent though. Once in a while, it does happen. I do run the app on a OnePlus 5 (Oxygen OS).
