Ports are stealthed except 80-84? Performance of wifi is great. DNS is buggy, norton uses Level 3 communications? Do a DNS leak test. Profile and parental controls are buggy. And sync with cloud is REALLY BUGGY! Core app doesn't detect whether or not norton av is installed on any of my devices? If it doesn't know its own product is installed then what real protection is going on? Since owning 3 months I've reset several times both factory and basic to fix issues. JUNK!
Router is now extremely unsecure after update which is forcing you to buy a subscription. I can no longer block or remove devices from my network. This was sold under the explicit understanding that the router would work without a subscription. Functionality has been slowly removed to force you back into and $125 or more security suit that doesn't work and slows devices. I trusted Norton, no I'm paying for it with a faulty app limiting an otherwise perfect router. Good work, you played yourself.

Core seriously disappoints. App doesnt control Core like it should from within or externally to the network. Keeps asking if I would like to removed blocked sites and add them to the allowed list after you have to manually add them cause the developers are too dumb to put a button there. Device fails to block internet intermittently then other times refuses to give devices IP addressed so they can't access internet when they should. Worst norton product in history. Going for a refund on the core and finding an alternative. To buggy.
It dosent alert me to updated. It just quits working. It doesn't warn me of subscription status. Just expires. But since you cant verify, leaves feeling like you've been charged multiple times a year. Would never recommend this router or app to anyone. I'm embarrased I have it.
Was working fine until today. I woke up this morning and had a notification that my Norton Core had updated its firmware. Tried to open the app but it hangs. I get a "Loading..." message but nothing else. Uninstalled/reinstalled the app but can't get past the login. Fortunately the Core still seems to be functional.
app would shut off and restart 7/10 times and when it would stay on it would not complete set up. tried contacting support multiple times without success via the chat option, even getting disconnected within several seconds of being connected once. so frustrating that i returned the Norton core immediately

The app crashes when i try to set the router up, which means i can set the router. I cant use any other device unless it is connected to cellular data, which basically negates the ability to use my exisiting wifi and the one phone
Update: got new core. After not being able to get it to work. Spoke with rep. Rep advised needed new wifi, not the same as old. Once this was done the router started working. Would be nice if a VPN was included in the subscription.
Norton's quality and support for the router and app have room for improvement. Check the forum for Core on the Norton site. Now my free one-year subscription will soon expire. Norton security software on my PC's will not stop warning that there's a problem with my payment and to log in to my account to update. Done that but the warnings won't stop. Removed another star from my review.
Norton have decided you cannot use the "Core" router without a password, this should be decided by the user, NOT Norton. Our environment was already secure and far enough away that we allow users access without the need to enter a password. Any other router can do this, therefore we had to return the Norton Core and purchase a normal router where we choose whether or not we use a password. This should be clearly marked in the description and on the packaging.
Despite having to log in on my laptop to find my subscription still has 5 months the app won't even load. Subscription in settings is always "pending" and the main screen is always "loading" so this was a huge waste of money.
This app does not function properly, everytime I try to open "manage blocked sites" the app crashes. not only on my Moto x 4, but also on our LG v10 EDIT: The app also crashes instantly when trying to open settings > Network > UPnP and selecting any listed device
works great, why discontinue?! I'm so angry that less than a year after purchasing Norton core (which works great) the company has discontinued it effective January 2020. I should get my money back! so now that my 1 year N.C. Security Plus subscription is up I suppose you want to charge me for another year even though it will only work through December. What a ripoff. I purchased a different router to replace Norton Core which will now be a useless geodesic dome toy.
Stops working all the time, says I'm not online. This used to be a half way decent app. For what they charge monthly for my Norton core you'd think that they would at least try to fix some of issues.
just found out Core had been discontinued. they say it's supposed to be supported by 2021 but the app now shows nothing at all. no data whatsoever. I wonder if my core has been compromised? time to ditch it and look elsewhere...
Seriously norton. Fix your stupid app. God forbid you forget your log in, the app crashes when you try to log in. Not attempt to get your password, litterly wont even pull up the username an password options. This app is garbage, an needs serious attention.
Great idea. But in practicality, the delays of always having the software handle every packet sent and received destroys bandwidth.
Damn thing keeps stopping, Norton has NO CLUE how to get this app working. They uninstalled, then reinstalled it. And nothing and blamed it on the device. Will call back the next day and NEVER DID!!!
Constantly crashes, pretends to be connected to the router sometimes when there's actually no connection and so settings don't actually do anything
Quits working about once every other month always have to uninstall and reinstall the app seems like a lot of people are having this problem so if it keeps up this app is not really worth the money it costs to keep
App no longer works with router. Gives me no access. Yet my account is still active and billing me. Norton has really dropped in quality.
Core app continually shows as offline and no security features work. But core continues to work as a router since last upgrade
Very limited functionality. For instance, I added some websites to allowed for my child and now there isn't there basic option to delete these from allowed websites! Unbelievable. Let alone an ability to apply the same settings to several children. Randomly stops working sometimes. Unreliable. Wish it was better made, would have made my life a lot easier.
