I've used this for a few years and always found it quick and responsive. It usually picks up QR codes quickly and sends me on my way. If it doesn't like a site you've been linked to by a QR code, it asks first but still lets you go if you select 'go anyway.' Its great as a basic no frills QR Reader. If you are any sort of user who likes to tune specifics for every aspect of your phone, this might not be for you.
It works, kind of. I've never had an issue with it reading QR codes, but what the app does after that varies. Sometimes it just displays the URL for a few seconds and that's it. I can't click the link. Other times I can. I haven't yet been able to figure out what causes the difference in behavior.
Three things to become perfect: 1) Giving the option to either open or copy the scanned link instead of opening it automatically. 2) Adding a history tab with the previously scanned links. 3) Getting rid of the vibration after scanning a code.
Scanned small 7/16 inch square QR code in dim light. It displayed the link but said "Cannot connect to Norton Safe Web. No internet connection". Realized I had forgotten to "Allow" Norton Snap to pass through NoRoot Firewall Beta by Grey Shirts. Allowed and then it worked fine and said website "is untested and may not be safe. We recommend that you tap CANCEL" and gave me the option to "OPEN ANYWAY" or "CANCEL". Good product.
Very easy to use! just open app and align qr code in picture frame. Once Norton scans the qr code and verifies it is safe it then downloaded my file. Before this app I would never, ever let my phone focus on a qr code. There is no way to know what is really in that qr code from looking at it.
What is up with this app now, it used to be great. I just installed it on a new device & each time I Scan a URL it reports the safety of same but them does nothing & I cannot even copy paste the URL to the browser.
I downloaded 4 scanners, deleted 3 and kept this one. By far it was the best. It was accurate, the fastest and with the least amount of fuss. Plus a name known for internet safety to boot. It's scary out there. Oh and so far no ads!
Perfect qr scanner. I was able to scan qr codes that were not very clear, very small ones and skewed ones. Even scanned qr codes from other phones and computers and it worked perfectly every time.
App works, I trust Norton, BUT i still want to initiate the qr code action manually NOT a 2 second delay before it automatically opens link in default App. Deal breaker, add setting to let user decide manual or auto with delay.
Didn't work. Would scan the code, say it was an unknown link and when I tapped "open anyway" it would vibrate, and go back to the camera screen... Wouldn't open the link at all.
Works great, automatically scans the QR code matrix as soon as the camera picks it up, works far better than any other QR app I've used, plus it is ad free.
Perfect. Lightweight. Quick and super easy to use. Opens the URLs automatically. Love it.
Good app; works well. No problems. Safe to use and provides reassurance that Web sites identified by the scanner are also safe.
The app doesn't focus the camera well enough. Other free apps work much better. Unless you use it in sunlight, it's useless.
Doesn't recognize internet connection. When I snap a code, it says "Cannot connect to Norton Safe Web. No internet connection. " I am connected.
POS! KEEPS REFOCUSING AND WONT SCAN. Had the target and phone settting on table. No movement. Will not scan even the breif 2 seconds its able to actually focus. Expected way more from norton! Did norton get bought out by a chinese company???
Doesnt work. Takes the qr snap, finds the url, but doesn't open the website and wont copy the url to the clipboard for pasting.
So sorry you've discontinued this app. Served well for many years. I generally used it offline to get the URL, and online if I wanted to visit the URL in my phone.
It doesn't read codes. No button to "snap" a picture. It did read once but did not go to the internet for a search
Very easy to use, just point it at the QR Code and then decide if you want to visit the site shown or not. If you do, just click on the link. Otherwise just cancel and be done.
Upset that it uses GOOGLE to search. They have MORE THAN ENOUGH information about my product searches! I changed search engines when my Activity log knew data and dollar amount of an Amazon purchase!
It's from Norton that should be a warning in it's self Although no real issue with the app the publisher is a different story for a security company privacy is there lowest priority. Honestly don't trust anything with the Norton name on it there staff are clueless and there privacy is a joke Although the app does what it's supposed to again its from Norton I wouldn't recommend anything from Norton
Works well but without a manual more contextual direction as interactive feedback would be awesome.
👎 💩 👎 This was by far... Nortons worst app they ever designed. It just constantly kept getty stuck and has always neen very buggy
I rely on this app to ensure all my QR code reads are not security threats. I wouldn't scan a QR without it, and use it on all my devices.
Garbage! Scans the link and tells you the website is safe but it won't open the website. You can't even copy and paste the link. Don't download.
Best QR code reading app yet. No adverts, no crashes. Quick & easy to use. Thanks Norton.
Very useful app. QR code reader consistently works well, and it checks the safety of the site before opening the link.
Immediate response and connection when deployed. I went no further. Safety check quickly done.
What's up with this app? It reads, and gives a number, with options to share, copy, or search the web. It would be really nice though, if it actually read the code. I scanned a Movie code and did a web search. I got hundreds of choices, with quite a few being in a foreign language. I expected so much more from Norton.
