Nostalgia

Have you been looking for a single frontend menu app to unify all of your android emulators? Wish there was a way to show all of your different games with cover art and descriptions instead of just titles? Nostalgia is your answer.
For now, Nostalgia requires a controller to use and is designed for TVs.Tested controllers: Ouya, Wireless Xbox 360, Nyko, Moga, Wired PS3. Others may work but haven't been verified.

About this in-app purchase:
• There is only one in-app purchase in Nostalgia.
• There is one purchasable now, and there will only ever be one purchasable.
• It is a one time charge to remove the demo limitations.
• Once you purchase it, you will have access to unlimited systems and emulator configurations forever.
• Beyond this one purchase, I will NEVER charge for additional features of Nostalgia. Ever.

What is demo mode? The ONLY limitation in demo mode is that you can only select one game system to launch an emulator. You can still use all the other features and fully populate all of the menus for any system you have so you can see what it will look like.

What is Nostalgia?Nostalgia is not an emulator. Nostalgia is a unified frontend menu for managing your emulators. It was originally developed on the Ouya android console and has been running on consoles on that platform since 2013 with more than 7000 users.

Nostalgia is a user interface compatible with many android emulators. Install the emulators and then use Nostalgia's configuration menu to set the emulator to use and the game directory. Once you have set those fields, Nostalgia can go out and fetch the best shot at the cover art and descriptions for the games. Once those steps are done you will have a fancy new menu for each of your emulated systems with cover art and all. You can see the complete list of compatible emulators below.

All screen shots are of the menu for Android applications. For legal purposes, I am not showing game covers, but this is representative of how the emulator menus look as well.

Some of the Features:
• Automated Cover and metadata fetching
• System and game level emulator selection
• Multi-platform game searching
• Set-and-Forget menu locking so your friends and family can't mess up your menu
• Custom wallpaper
• Favorite and Completed tags

• Mupen64 Plus AE
• Fpse
• MD.EMU (no gamegear)
• NES.EMU
• SNES9x EX+

Works better than I expected. Little issue with finding the data for ps1 but so worth the price! Edit: can't figure out how to afd emulators. even the nostalgia emus dont show up. The help button just brings up a screen with questions that when selected does nothing. HOW DO I ADD EMUS TO THIS APP!!

I'm so disappointed in this front-end. :-( I tried the trial version with the Atari 2600 emulator (lr-stella), and it mostly worked, so I paid for the full version, and I can not get ANY other emulators to work with it. I tried lr-fceumm (the NES emulator I use with RetroPie), and the gamepad is completely unresponsive; none of the buttons work in-game. Pressing R1 gets me to the RetroArch menu, which looks *completely* different from the RetroArch menu I get if I run RetroArch standalone, as if it is a different version, but nothing else works. MAME (lr-mame2003) I can't get working at all; selecting a game simply causes the screen to go blank for a moment, then I'm right back to Nostalgia. Same thing with FB Alpha (lr-fbalpha). Same thing with SNES (lr-snes9x2010). I gave up after those four. Nostalgia doesn't trap and display errors from the emulator, it just dumps me back at the game menu, so it's impossible to troubleshoot. These are the same emulators I use with RetroPie, so I know my ROMs are fine. I can start RetroArch independent of Nostalgia and games work fine, so this seems to just be an issue with Nostalgia, not the emulators.

A confusing GUI, with confusing options l, leading to a frustrating experience. It's simply too difficult to find, display and organise games/emulators within this glorified launcher.

This is still my favorite frontend for Android. Yeah it could use an update however it's still a great app as it is. Use the "***.emu" emulators with this and you'll have no problems.

Worked for one day and now either crashes or will not launch any game. Emulators do fine on their own. Built in emulators of this app don't even work. Nvidia shield user

Hi, I'm curious which version I should buy. I have an ouya, rooted with the play store installed. Will either version get the same updates? What systems are you planning to add. Thanks.

You said it was a frontend emulator but then said it wasn't an emulator. It only opens apps. edit: ok thanks

Great frontend for my emulators. Would like to see Neo Emu supported, but otherwise it does everything great.

It's not working at all on my oppo f1s, oppo f5, xiaomi mi mix 3, huawei y6 prime, and vivo v11

Why isn't Neo.Emu supported only Neo.Emu Free? Nostalgia doesn't recognize the Neo.Emu when I try to use it doesn't show up even as an option.

Easy to use, exactly is what it says it is, a front end. One of the best there is. Only negative is, I wish there were more configuration, user editing available (such as adding systems/consoles that aren’t on the list adding emulators that aren’t on the list & editing rom info that imported or failed to import.) Also a sort/list all roms on all systems function would be nice.

It needs to be updated but I still recommend it. There's a small learning curve but totally worth it. It works best with the .emu emulators on the Playstore.
