Notepad

This is a deal breaker for me, and I'm really shocked that no one else has noticed this serious issue as far as I can see. When I browse to a txt file on my device and open it with this app, make changes to the txt file, click the save icon, and then browse back to the file again and open it, none of my changes were saved to the file. When I do a file search on my device I can't find any other versions of the file except the original. Where did my changes go?

Notepad is a very useful and simple app. Creating a new note is very simple with the app shortcut and can be easily shared to other apps. In a way this does exactly what it should and get out of the way. In a way it's a text area with a share button. It's amazing already, but could be improved with two small changes. 1. Delete note after successful share, and 2. Add another button that shares the first line as title and the rest as the body. Thanks for a great app!

Does exactly what it says on the tin. I especially like the export function for writing .txt files to external memory, sd card etc. Very easy to use. I can now reset the date/time on my dashcam, when the battery has been removed with ease. Far easier than using well known online apps, that seem to send you around the houses to save a document where you want.

This is the only Notepad app I can use without getting annoyed by useless features or a cluttered interface. It does one thing and it does it well. The only thing I would add is the ability to create folders. I take all kind of notes from todo lists to recipes and it would be nice to be able to group files in folders. Another feature that would be useful would be the ability to export and import all notes for backup.

I like it as a quick note app. I can't find where it keeps its database, and there is no backup function (although there's import and each individual note can be exported). The Notepad supports bold, italicized, and coloured text by means of markdown if you know how to make use of it. Notes can be viewed in a read-only mode and changed in the other mode. There's an option in settings for it to ask before saving, 3 fonts, 6 font sizes, light & dark themes. Notes can be sorted by date / name. The app is SIMPLE & SUPERB FOR QUICK NOTES, which I think is what it is intended for.

Wow! Perfect for me! I needed a text editor that could paste into web forms without formatting issues. This works perfectly. Saves on app close, dark theme, spellchecker works with it. I used to use emails and paste from them, but they always cause issues. This is perfect. Thank you, and it's free! It helps me write to a loved one in prison, thank you :-)

The apps excellence is in it's simplicity. Have been searching for an app like this for months. I had an old app from note 4 days that was never upgraded. Notepad app does exactly what I want. Simple page management. One page per list. Exports a text file rather than obscure json files. And to boot, you can also print them. Great job and thank you!

I'm tired of just a simple notepad needing network access, having in app purchases and ads. In their own ways each one makes your notes less secure, because ads and purchases mean there's a database it's connected to and that can be hacked. This one is JUST NOTES. No bull and no insecurity, no annoyance and no ridiculous list of features to clog your screen with buttons. You just type, save and edit your dang notes, like you asked. Lack of bold and other text editing tools, but you don't need it

It does one thing, it does it fast, and it does it well. This notepad can hold A LOT of words and that's a definite plus. It's great for getting what's in your head into words FAST. I don't have time to wait for the overblown software to load up. I use this, then organize later in my pudgy note-taking app.

Excellent app! Thanks so much Braden for making this! It's the first notes app that isn't loaded with ads, let's me backup and restore, doesn't require excessive permissions , and doesn't need a subscription fee to use. I really would like to pay a one time donation since I think it is worth it. Please consider making this an in app purchase or release a pro version that can bought separately.

Would be better with an Export function that doesn't use the full text body as a filename. Said filename gets cut off at the Windows character limit and the file becomes unreadable internally (you're left with just the partial filename). Multi-file export would also be a big improvement. The look of the app is good, though.

After trying MANY notepad apps I finally found the best one and this is it! It does one thing very well, manage text notes, without unneeded features. It has import and export of single or multiple notes which I require. There are a few missing features, which are minor considering how well the app operates. App features: • import/export as text • no ads • share notes with other apps. Missing features: • search • insert date, time, or date & time • custom folders • widget to specific note.

Works perfectly as advertised and as intended. I accept the limitations in exchange for the minimal permission & resource demands, zero ads/upsells and free price. In a perfect world it would have folders for additional filling and support minimal formating (bold, italics bullet list) ..but I wanted rock-solid basic Notepad and I got exactly that.

(Edited)Thanks for this app, it has perfect read-only mode. Just please add search for the whole title and boddy of texts, also when we're importing notes it can't recognize the title of the files. Lastly, add a bit of text on the buttons so that thanks to their screen readers, blind users will get what are all the buttons like select notes and add-

Really straight forward notepad app. Simple and doesn't have a bazillion things for you jump through to make and save notes. Only small complaint is that there is no actual title header to name the note. Whatever is written on the first line of the note becomes your title.

Created a file that can't be renamed or deleted. Also, changes do not update your original file, instead a copy of your changed file is saved within the app and must be exported with same file name. If you don't export after each edit you end up with multiple copies of your file within the app. Total nightmare!

Thank You! Took hours to find this. Just needed something clean to scratch down some notes and this is perfect. No ads no, permissions, no bloat, clean simple and welcomed. Wish more of Android would be like this.

Best features - privacy respecting, no ads. Very basic, so, like a most people I want my favorite features. Write to SD card and to set default directory. It's a keeper.

This would be 5 stars if it had a widget to display your notes on the home screen and flip through them like the notepad that was built in to my old HTC One X+. I guess it spoiled me with a great notepad, mp3 player, and FM Radio app built in. Otherwise, it is perfect.

Fabulously simple and dependable. I wanted a bare bones text editor to build lengthy text messages on a full screen. After trying numerous apps, I finally found gold! Thank you so much for simplicity and dependability.

Been using it for a long time now and must say it's a nice, clean and ad free app but with few major flaws. There's no backup option. I wish it had black background instead of grey in the dark mode. I wish it had option to export as PDF alongwith txt. No search option.

This is a great lightweight note app with build in **Markdown Language** integration too! It can import and export txt file too. There are 2 main shortcomings to make it a great simple note: - cannot search within notes for easy finding - automatically dark mode switching base in system default Thanks for creating this for us!

I am unable to perform a mass transfer of notes made in this app, due technical problems with it. I could lose *everything* if I don't back up these notes. If this issue can be adressed, I will remove this negative review.

Love, but... I've been using this app for years and I love it. I had the option selected to just save without asking. today I selected all and accidentally hit a letter. all of my text that I'd saved for years was replaced by the letter d. this happened to be a very important note to me, so perhaps I should be using a different app for it. the point is I couldn't find an undo. is there any way to get that note back?

Interface could be better but seems to work fine for me. The Chromebook TEXT app is superior but, strangely, not available for Android.

It's wonderful, but I've recently noticed it doesn't suppourt italics. Kinda bummed about it but other than that it't a wonderful, no-frills experience. With some little tweaks, it could be even more perfect!

The app is great but can you please add a floating button or a means to slide through a text file with large content as it would it make it easier to navigate rather than having to scroll all the way, other than that, the app works just fine and the auto save is fantastic.
