THE NEW TESTAMENT

The New Testament is the second part of the Bible and consists of a set of books and letters written after the death of Jesus.
In the New Testament, one can find lots of information about the life of Jesus, his action on the ground, his evangelization and his teachings.

While the Old Testament Christians share with Jews, the New Testament is exclusively Christian.
The New Testament consists of 27 books, corresponding to the Gospels, the Acts of the Apostles, the Epistles and the last chapter called Revelation.

The word "Testament" comes from the Hebrew "Berith" meaning Alliance Convention and refers to the covenant between God and human beings.

VERSION LOUIS SEGOND

The King James Bible is the most used by the Protestant Christian Churches Bible.

King James, born October 3, 1810 in Geneva, was a pastor and Swiss theologian who, at the request of the Company of Pastors of Geneva, has translated the Bible into French from Hebrew and Greek original texts.

The translation of the Old Testament was published in 1874 and the New Testament in 1880. This version is usually called the "King James Version" and it will become the reference in the French Protestantism.
