Paid for premium years ago, used to be great. Now it takes 2 days for the feed to update on hot, only way to keep it from repeating is to hide each and every post after seeing it. Should have option to hide stickied and crossposts. App isn't good anymore, lacking many features other apps offer, devs don't update features anymore.
This is a great and easy to use Reddit app. Less ads than the official app. Its just "missing" material design compatibility for the icon And app
EDIT: as per dev reply, this is being fixed. Reply was fast. R/random and r/randnsfw have stopped working after being refreshed once
Comments do not load quickly. This has been going on for a while now. Other reddit apps work just fine.
It's good, but it'd be even better if the option to enable clickable sub names on posts (as in, you click on the name and it takes you to the sub). Or maybe there is, I just couldn't find it anyways. The scrolling's kinda wack too, it feels really weird and unsmooth compared to the offical app. (There might be an option to change this, too, I was just, again, unable to find it.) Also, it should unfullscreen you whenever you press outside of the image when fullscreened.
Definitely the best Reddit app on Android, but.. The 'disable ads' is buggy. I had an issue a few months ago, where after an update made ads show up again, bit annoying, but reinstalling did fix it, but now I have a different issue, the ads came back, I re installed, after a bit it asked if I wanted to view personal ads, clicking either of the two options added ads back in. keep trying to reinstall and nothing changes.
Love it so far. Especially that it doesn't close itself for no reason constantly. I'd love to see some features, though: A way to swipe an open thread away to the right instead of reaching up over the huge screen and pressing a button, a way to remove the "popular" and "frontpage" reddits, a way to disable the small preview boxes under links. They break the formatting of bot responses like the RemindMe bot. Apart from those three, the app functions marvelously.
The latest update seems to have broken r/random to not populate after refreshing with the error "Error: Found"
the problem seems to have been mostly resolved. i no longer accidentally click on banners, albeit the glitch that caused it still remains. would love "long press to save image" or some such. saving images is a serious hassle. would save image hoarders immense amounts of time. brilliant app. too bad reddit is in steady decline..
The app is great and I've used it for many years. I just have a request. Can we get the app updated to support Google's new Android design language? They're doing away with the slide out side menu since you now swipe from the edge to go back with gesture navigation. Google Maps is a good example of this.
Trash, hard to navigate, not pleasing to the eyes.
Missing a lot of features, especially feature to block people.
much better than the garbage official app But a "filter by domain" function would be nice.
Current version has a bug that opens up the play store a bunch
UX is severely lacking and not fully thought out. It's inferior in every single regard when compared directly to Sync and a bunch of other Reddit client apps. No reason to use this over the others like Sync, especially when they have far more configuration options. For example, the layout for navigating across your subreddits in tabs is very inefficient in both space and time, as compared to viewing them in a standard list view in a sidebar as many other apps have it, which allows scanning and scrolling across many sub names very quickly, and also lets you see their icons. No swipe actions on posts, no quick previews by holding down on a post, and swipe to return to the subreddit from a post can only be done from the left edge instead of the whole screen. Many other similar improvements need to be made.
The only reddit app I use BUT i really wish for 2 things: 1) can you please move the "hide" menu option further away from the "share" option? It's really easy to hit hide when you're trying to share and its pretty infuriating to have 2 extreme opposite commands right on top of each other 2) related, there is no way to unhide posts from inside the app, please allow this!
Not good for reading. Scrolling through posts sometimes backed out because swipe to go back is too sensitive. Bad UI design. On one screen, swipe from left brings context menu and on others it goes back. On one screen, dit menu is in bottom right and others that's where the ad is. Bad ads. Ads are on floating in top of articles where they're distracting instead of in feed where they can be tuned out.
My favorite reddit app overall, but freezes and glitches out every time i open a Reddit Video. I've resorted to simply never opening reddit videos because it breaks the app. I'm missing out on a lot of content because of this. That's because I have a terrible Huawei tho, so it's an isolated issue - thanks for the feedback Phyora! <3 The app could use a more attractive visual design, but overall is good and functions as intended.
Come back to edit my review twice in two days. Still no updates or fixes for features we are all asking for. Just want it to remember where I was last and be able to scroll left and right not just up and down. Silly. UPDATE - every time I open Now for Reddit it crashes background YouTube.
So far my favorite app for reddit. There's some minor issues that I've run across, but all were able to be fixed by reinstalling the app. Tons of customization and features, as well as much more lightweight than the official reddit app. The ability to permanently remove ads is also pretty nice.
A recent update has caused some major issues which I've seen reflected in several other reviews. Pictures will not load full screen, but will if I click on comments. Then, comments won't load unless I disconnect then reconnect to wifi, even after clearing caches and reinstalling the app. Sent you guys an email, waiting on response.
Overall looks pretty decent but could use some improvements, No option to zoom in on videos No option for autoplay videos while scrolling Would be nice to have colour customization but not a deal breaker Would be nice to have a general search option without having to go to the sidebar
EDIT: Original issue: Rarely ADs play un-mutable/pausable audio which requires killing app to stop. EDIT: Thanks for the quick reply! I saw there was an update right after I wrote this, it's been applied. I'll try to remember to grab the info next time around. Also, thanks for the continued effort. Updated to correct rating. ASIDE: Is there a way to 'goto random subreddit' from a 'random' subreddit?
I've been using this app since forever and finally bought the paid version. The only way to improve this app would be to give an option for hiding the 4 buttons (they could appear with a long press) and hiding link previews. It's just that this app fits 2-3 posts where others could fit 4-5. To dev: Link Previews are off but I can still see them. Device: Pixel 2xl. PS: Thanks for the quick response.
I love this app. Although I find if I'm reviewing a comment or post, it cuts off the bottom. So I have to go back into the comment and double check my spelling/grammar from there. But it could be my phone. Also, the order of my subs is different across platforms, it'd be nice if it was the same. And if I've previously deleted subs but delete and re-download the app, all the deleted subs back again and I have to delete them again. But I'm nitpicking, it's a great app.
This is no longer loading posts. It started yesterday and continues this morning. I have version 5.8.2 on a pixel 2XL. It continues to give unable to load Reddit may be down or filters may be blocking. I have a good internet connection, rebooted the phone and reinstalled the app with no help... Bummer
For navigation and ease of use, it's the best Reddit app I've used but the lack of table support is really frustrating. I use quite a few sites that feature tables and they're almost illegible with this app, so I actually have to use other apps just for those pages. Given how well it does most things, this one big gap is really disappointing. I also find it sometimes difficult to open a page in the browser because it's simply opening the linked jpeg rather than the relevant Reddit page.
