Please note that the app requires permissions to your Notifications, so it can read the song data from Pixel Ambient Services.
When enabling notification access for the app, you will get a warning that the app may see your personal information such as contacts and messages, however, the applications only reads notifications from Pixel Ambient Services.
Also, the application does NOT have permissions to access the internet, so data NEVER leaves your device. You can check the application data usage for the app in your device settings.

Permissions in AndroidManifest:
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - to record the song location, only if the feature is enabled.
BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE - to access the song data from the notification created by Pixel Ambient services.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - to export songs into local storage
READ_INTERNAL_STORAGE - to import songs from local storage

Amazing app... perfect. If I could ask - where is the backed up data stored? My list doesn't go back beyond March 2019. I desperately wanted a list from a day in Nov 2018
I have Samsung Galaxy A20 and download your application and pay the fee and when I was going to use it it's shows a message "this application doesn't work with this model of phone" It should be a warning in the app info that only works with Pixel phones! I want my money back!!!
I couldn't select any player in app settings. After Google Music was closed it is inconvenient option
Exactly why do you want access to my contacts, the ability to read my text messages, basically you want me to just allow you to roam around my phone? No thanks!
Good app. Works as described. Would love to be able to reverse sort the list in the app.
it's just perfect, i still prefer over the stock list because i can add songs to the favorite list.
Paid for the pro option but still didn't show album art. Not worth downloading or paying for.

Useful, but the same function is integrated into pixel ROM recently.
Only plays song on google play music. Should support other apps as well.

The developer is silent to this line of inquiry: "Because of privacy concerns, this app will never have internet access". What function(s) does the permissions 'view network connections' and 'have full network access" provide? (These permissions show after a detailed look... Is there also a detailed look into our text messages?)
We should be able to log in with our Google account. I reset my phone and lost all the songs the app listened to! 😑😞
This is essential. Thanks for making it free, Ivan. Top man. Maybe think about adding Google Drive support to automatically to back things up. Perhaps charge for this feature (I would gladly pay for this). Thanks again.
Update: works perfectly! Does what you expect it to. Would be nice to have some sort of way to back it up.
It's a great app, no doubt. But isn't working on samsung S9+. Need help.

Absolutely a must have app if you have a Pixel. Also, the developer is one of the most responsive to bugs I've ever seen. Great app + great developer = 5 stars. I'd give it a 6 if I could.
By far the best Now Playing capture app. Nice material design, has all the important features like back up, and best of all, free.
Switched from Kevin Desai's "Now Playing Tracker" to this app when I gave up waiting for the former to be updated for Android 11 compatibility. Indeed, this app is the only one of its kind that's been updated in 2020 as of the writing of this review. For that it gets an automatic 5 stars as the only one that works. Light / dark themes, GPS features (take them or leave them), and no banner ads, the author's generosity impresses me enough to buy the Pro version. Thank you for all your hard work Mr. Mihov.
