Please note that the app requires permissions to your Notifications, so it can read the song data from Pixel Ambient Services.
When enabling notification access for the app, you will get a warning that the app may see your personal information such as contacts and messages, however, the applications only reads notifications from Pixel Ambient Services.

ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - to record the song location, only if the feature is enabled.
BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE - to access the song data from the notification created by Pixel Ambient services.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - to export songs into local storage
READ_INTERNAL_STORAGE - to import songs from local storage
INTERNET - for scrobbling and fetching song info
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - to detect if user is connected to WIFI - option in settings

Switched from Kevin Desai's "Now Playing Tracker" to the free version of this app when I gave up waiting for the former to be updated for Android 11 compatibility. Indeed, this app and its free counterpart are the only ones of their kind that have been updated in 2020 as of the writing of this review. For that I give both apps an automatic 5 stars as the only ones of their kind still working. The author's generosity in including light / dark themes, GPS features (take them or leave them), and no banner ads in the free version impressed me enough to buy the Pro version, even though I didn't have immediate plans to use the Pro features. Thank you for all your hard work Mr. Mihov.
The import function doesn't seem to work, otherwise this review would be 5 stars. I previously had the free version of the app and I'm sure many others start with that so importing seems like it'd be very important. Otherwise, works just as intended.
This app is a great addition to the pixel lineup of phones and the now playing feature. Nice to have a visual list of all the songs I've heard and the map is also a nice touch.
doesnt seem to work on the Pixel 3. what a disappointment. Can't recognise anything except songs from the 80's to current. I want a complete database of old songs and unusual song I don't recognize
Paid to upgrade to pro but it won't import my song history from the free version. My song history is more important than the pro features so I'm deleting it. Not happy.
Great app that compliments the Google Assistant Now Playing feature. Keeps a list off all the songs you've ever heard.
Absolutely love this app. It works even when I don't realize it. And even works with certain media you see on television. Such as, the fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song! LMFAO 🤣
Awesome app but lately it won't open music in Youtube Music. Just opens Play Store. Have the setting set to always ask.
the app doesnt work at all? ive listened to lots of music in the time I bought it and it still says "no songs yet, listen to songs to start"....but hey there's dark mode so buy it
Unresponsive developer. Email him a month ago about a bug, no response. Play with only lists Google Play which is now dead.
Not working for me I don't know why. Now playing on my pixel 2 xl works better than this app.
No longer can see Spotify as a play source. Needs an update.
I cannot get it to show songs. Maybe it's me so I will only give it a 3 & stop trying

So this app works as advertised with on exception, when you export the playlist, you cannot import it back or to another pixel 2 device. It fails no matter if you choose Json or csv.

Great app, have really come to rely on it. But it's no longer working on the latest Android 11 Beta. The song history is still being logged by Android but Now Playing List Pro is unable to read that history. Not been updated in a couple years so emailed the dev in case he wanted to take a look. Response was rapid, all now working again!
