I have tried multiple players for samba shares on my local network, this one is very easy to use and reliable. It also has capability of doing slideshows of photos from the shares. Works great with many resolutions of AVI and mp4. Many of the players I tried only seemed to work with local drives or had some other issues connecting to my shared windows library. Of course it works great on local videos as well. Very happy and have used it alot !!
A bug here: when I tried to connect to my sshd sever on my PC with SFTP protocol, while entering the directory ended with Windows styled "\",like "D: \Desktop\" ,the application crashed and I have to clear the cache and storage to reopen it, losing all my settings. However,if you type in the correct directory"D:\Desktop" ,it works pretty well. Well, I know it's my fault to enter the wrong directory, but the app literally keeps crashing and it's very annoying. On Android 10, Sony Xperia XZ 3.
Would not recommend, this app has not been upgraded in over 2 years, and the built-in web browser doesn't even work anymore. Edit, the web browser will work if you type in a direct link from another browser you can't use it to search Google anymore.
Nplayer is my favorite on iphone, ipad, but on android i have issues. Very strange, that i tried the software with a synology nas playback, when i change film (folder), the app resume the first film i choosed. No way to stop this situation. Video postprocessing menu is completle missing with 3d functions.
Despite the negative reviews I still went on with the purchase of pro... I like the video and the audio quality... Audio is at par with MX or better but the video quality is definitely better... Please keep the enhancements coming... The network feature works flawlessly, I am able to access my animes in my hard drive connected to my Nvidia Shield using my mobile phone with no hiccups. I love the interface, sleek file browser. Most of all every video format works ✌️✌️✌️ 🇵🇭❤️🇰🇷...
New Browser is good, but can you withdraw that viber on every touch(I always like to drag forward and backward) while playing video? I think it is very annoying. Or you can give me a switch to shut it down. I do not remember this happen before.
Getting the following error when trying to sign in to google drive "This browser or app may not be secure. Try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can try again to sign in. "
Current version can't display the contents of .cue play list when click, while the song split still works ok. This is the only player on Android that list my SMB directories with appropriate performance. Good job!
Still lack of Subtitle font performance. Vlc and NPlayer still have this problem for external Subtitle with their own style. Sometimes the font are missing, become blurry, turn to white. The only android player that can perform well with custom font Subtitle is MX player. But their app still lack on audio and sw encode.
Virtual surround doesn't work. I installed this player specifically for that but it doesn't work with DTS X files. It explicitly does not support Dolby EAC3 or Dolby True HD. What's the point? And there are no configurable options for the virtual surround anywhere. Terrible.
ACE3 codec missing so its not playing audio files. Consider this problem, Please update with new features. Hopefully waiting. Best wishes to you and your team...
Great media player! Processes all video formats, remote playback support and subtitles visualization! Suitable for animes. Works flawlessly on iOS and android.
I used to use this player to stream from my google drive, but after getting a new phone, now I can't login to my google account due to unsupported browser. Would change my review to 5 stars if they fix the issue
Doesn't cast from android phone when i try to cast it loads then it returns me to the meta data screen of the video. Just wont cast...just plays in my mobile though...defeats the purpose...
This app is lord of video player on iOS but on android it's a feature less player. No view option, theme support, browser support, thumbnail support for movies with info and many more. I will not recommend this app to anybody at the moment.
Best. Video. Player on Android. I've had this app on iOS for years.. and I honestly never knew that the developer created it for Android too. This app is the best video player on both platforms. There's so much customization and videos plays smoothly...
No EAC3 support! Other than that it's OK. Not great, but usable. I'm disappointed after paying so much for the app. I expected great things, but was left wanting.
I couldn't watch a movie with AC3 audio! I was expecting dts:x headphones to virtualize the audio but that isn't working either. I paid for this app and I think my money could have been better spent
Some movie shows DTS.Headphone:X but can't press button to activate it on version for Android TV but same movie doens't show button of DTS ? confuse ,it is depend on movie or device ??
Good app with excellent experience. Hope delovement team would add interface of movie library like kodi or infuse pro, that makes this app look more professional and elegant.
Very sad to say this once great app is no longer being supported by the developer. No updates now since 2019, google drive login is broken and it no longer supports EAC3 (Dolby digital) audio.
I installed this to stream from Google Drive but it won't let me sign in. Same problem with the other reviews. I feel stupid for not listening to them. Edit: Not sure what happened but I'm in Android 10 now and Google Drive now works smoothly! I'll give the stars back.
its not acceptable.the free players on playstorw can play eac3 audio codec and nplayer can't.the browser is broken.it always open the last video you have played.no option to disable it. i realy like this app.please do something.
i looking for combining apps of file browser and video player. Finally i found it. DTS and AC3 support out of box, dont need to mess with downloading custom codec build.
Could not sign in to my google drive. My files are mainly there. What's the use of this app if the main reason i purchased is to access my files in Google drive but it can't do that.
thank you for your update but still there is bug in drill mode. in drill mode, i cant adjust the scene time and subtitle swifing function doesnt work(it works in ios).
Edited:thought No EAC3 support on Android. I was right and wrong. Got some hint on "external codec" from ffmpeg and downloaded the codec. Installed via app. Now working like a charm!
I've owned both nPlayer for Android and iOS since launch, and I'm happy to see that the Android version is closing the gap that still makes the iOS version better in terms of features and stability because I still prefer Android as my main phone's operating system. The only major issue I have with my Galaxy Note 9 is the random crashes and I've noticed that it usually happens when I use "Clear Playback History" feature. Thanks and please guys give more effort in making the Android version great.
