On the road almost weekly and normally have to spend time in the rental car parking lot scanning the low end for the local NPR station. I actually thought about creating an app like this during this trip, but this one has much better features than the one I invented (in my noodle).
Ok, it's been 4 years since I reviewed this app and I still love it. Check out the distance units, by the way. Doesn't even require a data connection, so I can use it to find stations on roadtrips farther off the beaten path. (And yes, the passenger is the one using it!) Absolutely essential.
We rely on this app several times a day during our meandering camping vacations, all over the USA. It works just great. I would like to see an add-on for independent community radio stations as well.
I drive a truck. Travelling from one city to another, this app can help keep you tuned in. FYI THIS IS NOT A RADIO STREAMING APP, it simply lists nearby NPR stations.
However, the ads just keep coming. I feel ripped off.
The direction finder thinks west is north, and it does do what it says It does, which is tell me what NPR stations are within a hundred miles. A Google search of NPR station near me would do the same thing though.
The app does exactly what it says, as one station fades another can be dialed up with zero fumbling. We have used it from New Hampshire to Florida and are pleased to have it.
I drive all over the country and trying to find the NPR stations in different cities was getting out of hand...so needed this!
I have no idea how this works = no instructions after locating station on map!!!!! HELP!

OMG IT'S BACK! I switched phones and lost this ESSENTIAL app! I emailed the creator and he REPUBLISHED IT! I travel for work, usually by car- and this app helps me keep my sanity. The best app of its kind. Shows you multiple options, their relative distance and heading. SO GLAD this is back!
