Null Black Wallpaper
It saves your battery by two ways:1. The best screens doesn't need energy to paint black pixels2. This live wallpaper actually does nothing. Nothing is nothing. Not "loading a black image". The back it's blank, so your CPU will be thinking in other things, increasing your phone performance and decreasing the battery drain.
This is an Open Source project, so you can browse the source code and do cool things with it. You can also distribute the binaries of this project without worries. You'll find the source code at https://github.com/rocboronat/NullBlackWallpaper

Why they think we want their stupid wallpapers I'll never know. But I have never had so much trouble getting rid of it before! This is the solution to your problem - fellow wallpaper haters! Although why such a solution is needed (why not just a "no wallpaper" option?) Grrr. But full marks to this app for getting it done.
I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and since it is quite powerful, I figured this wouldn't improve its performance that much. After this [lack of] wallpaper installed, I instantly noticed a smoother and much quicker transitioning between screens and apps. Apps themselves are performing much quicker than before. I never leave reviews but this was definitely worth reviewing. If you don't care about having a flashy wallpaper, install this now! You won't regret it.
Thank you, Roc! This simple WP is far and away the BEST thing I've ever done for my phone. It literally started cooling it down the moment I applied it, and I could feel the temperature falling dramatically while the phone was in my hand. The intensity of the "black" doesn't compromise the phone's eye-appeal either but, in fact, enhances it. Black is classic and elegant, and icons pop out against this stark background. Now that I've wrapped my mind around exactly WHY this works as it does, I'm astounded.

Do I miss having a nice background on my home screen? Sure. But I just got back from vacation and never once while I was gone did I run out of battery power during the day. I wasn't the person huddled next to an outlet in an airport or museum. That makes it worth it every day.
I have a poor eye sight. But since I got this wallpaper, everything seems clearer even in daylight.
My Note 8 feels a lot cooler now. If you can't find it. It should be in the same area as your live wallpapers.
I thought a simple Google search for black wallpaper would be simple. Not so much I had an issue finding a true black wallpaper then I stumbled across this app and it was exactly what I was looking for.
It saves a lot of Resources. Samsung Grand I9082 Memory usage came down by 15%.Thanks
Been using this app for years. Great that it uses a wee bit of RAM instead of draining battery by going the CPU route, like with typical wallpapers. Easy as going to wallpaper settings and setting this (live) wallpaper. Great work, dev!
I don't know what this wallpaper does, but I have gone through the whole day without having to recharge and I am still on 50 percent.
Not only saves battery life, it's also improved the performance of my phone. Everything runs faster. Very simple, elegant solution, and with the right icon packs, I don't even miss having a wallpaper!

Its not the absence of light that makes this black, it's that theres nothing there at all. So you use less power.

People you have to apply it in your live wallpapers, not try and open it like an app. And yes it does work on nova launcher.
Normaly I don't leave comment for these kind of apps. I was surprised to see today that this Null black wallpaper and screensaver has kept battery on my note 4 at 75%. Normally a this time my battery would be at 40 to 45%. Honestly I am surprised how much battery one can save just after using blavk screen and recommend it further at least for a try.
No different than taking a picture of a black paper and using it as wallpaper! Absolutely a waste of my valuable time!

Well what can you say Black is Beautiful - and this proves it for me. Paint it Black, Back in Black, Fear of a black planet, Black Flag, Big black - we are in the Black. Black to the Future well maybe not that one.

Too much lag on home screen... I dnt believe that a blank wallpaper will slow down my quadcore
I own a note 4 is my office on the go, I do anything and everything on my phone. So a simple black Wallpaper that with no distractions is the best option for me

For all AMOLED users, this is a must-have wallpaper. Your screen will looks awesome. Just black, but very classy. I've been using it on my Galaxy S4.
At first, I thought it's just the same as setting a black wallpaper but upon reading your responses to the negative comments, it is clear that this saves battery since the live wallpaper service runs on ram and does not consume power. Thanks for this wonderful app.
