Honestly, I'd call this a 3-star app due to missing features (I can't search content across multiple apps, recommended next viewing is often buggy and gets stuck, etc) but now they have ads on the home screen. Ads. I paid for this device. It was NOT cheap. I would like a partial refund of my device, please. If not, TURN. OFF. THE. ADS. And don't call them "Recommendations". They're ads. If I don't have a service and you recommend it because someone paid you... THAT IS AN AD. That might actually be the literal definition of an ad.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. The latest abomination of a front end after buying two Premium, i.e. expensive, devices is a travesty of UI design. I bought a top of the range device and expected a top of the range UI. Next step is to modify the front end that will leave it looking like a device that costs far less.

Each new change to the OS brings more unwanted changes and performance slow downs. I didn't buy an apple device so why am I getting the same type of behavior as one!? Also it seems to be less stable upon each update not more which is just annoying. I have to restart the box about once a week at least to get some streaming app to start working again.

I'm playing on an Nvidia Shield Portable, and this app since the latest update has now rendered most gamestreaming impossible. Firstly is the ridiculous floating touch button top right of the screen which can't be removed, but more importantly the back button now doesn't work, which in most games is some sort of map or menu, and without this functionality its impossible. Needs fixing.

I love the Nvidia Shield, but the move to Android TV as the home screen is almost a deal breaker- it's blatant advertising pretending to be "recommendations" with no option to retain the previous home screen, which was fine. Now you have to install a third party amateurish looking loader. The home screen in the above screenshots is no longer there. Totally unimpressed. 0 stars!

Works pretty well for me, played a few games and they work great most of the time. There are issues when you play a steam game with a usb adaptor plugged in (mouse and keyboard in the usb adaptor ports) i.e. the app crashes all the time, just mouse or keyboard with no usb adaptor (for extra ports) works fine. Good range of games, no downloads - woohoo.

Uninstalled to reinstall app w update and now gaming. Moving in the right direction since my Sep 2021 post. Still enjoying my original Shield in 2014 and another. Things are getting better!

Loads ads for unsunscribed services on main screens, and there are no f2p games. Best to save a ton of money (and aggravation) and get a different device.

I was an early adopter and have subscribed to the service as soon as it was available. There have always been some issues which were very annoying, like having to log in to Steam each time I started a game, but I learned to live with those. Recently however, the service has been unusable with their network diagnostics tool telling me the same thing. The latency at peak times makes any game unplayable and they'll also tell you this much. Now, originally I considered this service to be an alternative to having to buy a proper gaming rig. I'm not into competitive PvP stuff anyway, so the somewhat higher latency was a tradeoff I could live with. This however, is a deal-breaker. I understand that infrastructure is under heavy load during peak times during a quarantine, but I don't think I'm asking too much when I say that those are exactly the times I would like to play my games, so the app is no longer fit for purpose. Please fix this, or at least give us the improved input-lag fixes PC users can configure for themselves on Android.

It's amazing but... The removal of support for playing GTA 5 is a huge disappointment. I own a Shield portable and don't ever plan on getting rid of it. I would like to see games added, not removed. The fact that the system is still getting updates is amazing to see imo. Keep up the good work!

I bought an Nvidia Shield to AVOID advertisements of cable and the like. I wanted a media device that would show what I wanted it to show, and play what I wanted it to play. Now I can't turn the thing on without a giant advertisement displayed at the top of the homescreen. Cool, guess I'll go back to just using my HTPC directly.

I like it, but there are few annoying issues. It needs to have an option to split native Android games from GeForce now ones, like this, it's a mess. Especially, because of the second most annoying problem - it simply does not show all Android games installed on shield TV (iirc even your own resident evil port) and I have to launch Android games via play games.

I just want local game streaming! Old review: Please have an option to remove all of the "online rubbish". Add support for XBox controller rumble ... Also getting this working hassle free seems to be impossible - absolutely horrid experience compared to Steam Link! Have to keep restarting the Nvidia container service. Get green connected light on the Android, only for the connection to fail. Sometimes says that Steam has been moved? Hardly ever works without spending 5+ mins of fiddling! ... Also the "paring" code that comes up on screen rarely works!

Using the d-pad to move through games (left to right)in the GUI now often randomly moves UP AND DOWN, making accurate navigation almost impossible. Please fix. UPDATE: The customer service staff have REFUSED to address this (as they do not understand the problem), insisting that it is an official Nvidia controller problem (while refusing to pass my concerns onto the developers of this app).

I didnt spend €200+ on a devices (Nvidia Shield pro) which pops up ads after an update. (or as google would call it recommendations b*llsh*t)

still having trouble with the zooming issue. clicking mouse and moving it forward and pressing wasd keys on keyboard keeps zooming the app in but other then that all is well. thank you for the 2 year beta access and the great overall experience. to hell with the publishers pulling out, they are garbage money hungry jackoffs, good riddance. thank you again

Love the cloud gaming. Especially the Geforce Now games in their library. They run the smoothest. The Steam games look good too, but sometimes lag. This games app is fine for me and very easy on the navigation side. I'm staying loyal, only the best will do. Well done NVIDIA, keep up the great work.

Horrible update. I paid for a premium device and got large banner ads including for paid programming on unsubscribed services . Now it looks like the cheap MII box I use in the bedroom. I don't appreciate having advertising rammed down my throat without permission or any warning after paying triple for the device. I've installed another launcher and this will be my last NVIDIA android TV device purchase. This update has made it look like any other Chinese box or Firestick.

Can't get any games to launch on my NVIDIA Shield Tablet. The app always crashes at the network test. When on ethernet, the test runs a short while before it crashes and says, "Unfortunately, NVIDIA Games has stopped." If I'm on WiFi it immediately tells me the "test failed." I do enjoy the app when it works...

the menu bar they added for touchscreen devices is infuriating because you cannot turn it off and it does not disappear after inactivity. That needs to change. Like now.

I thought I bought a high end device for a high price. I wanted high performance and customization. Instead I got ads on the home screen, and mediocre Android TV. The only positive thing I can say is it is really fast.

This once was a great app, but now it says that I can't use it because I'm not in the right region. This happened for the past 2 months and I have no access to Geforce Now. I'm using an Nvidia Shield Tablet and I live in New Zealand. This is really disappointing because the main reasons I bought an Nvidia Shield was to use GeForce Now and Nvidia Gamestream. Please fix this so I can give the app Five Stars again. I would very much appreciate it.

Still supported on Shield Portable — excellent service for existing customers. I have a shield console, too, and would buy an updated shield portable because of game streaming app like this and many other reasons specific to the device (unadulterated Android, good form factor, good battery life).

The trusty old dog Shield Portable trumps the Switch once again. This app is amazing, Mostly highest setting pc games in the palm of your hand. Yea theres a bit of lag sometimes but when it runs well it runs really well.

Thank you Nvidia for listening to your customers and autohiding the intrusive onscreen floating menu on shield portable. I'm very happy to see that you haven't forgotten us who still own your original devices, please keep up the support as there isn't another device out there that matches what you've done with the portable.

Streaming works fine for supported games, but the app only works if your OS is in your local language. For me I had to switch the whole Shield with Android TV from English to German for this app to work in Switzerland.

I hate to write this negative review since Nvidia must be completely broke and really need the money they get by forcing ads onto my home screen but they're forcing ads onto my Shield. I thought the point of ad based items is they're free, but the Shield TV is a top dollar, tightly price controlled box so you get to pay to have Nvidia get even more money from advertisers. In Russia, you pay ads!

I have an Nvidia Shield TV Pro and the new UI puts ads at the top of the home screen. The old version did not contain ads. I paid for the Nvidia Shield and do not want or expect to see ads.

The latest Nvidia Games update has a huge flaw as it no longer allows you to connect to Remote Desktop "C:\Windows\System32\mstsc.exe". Nvidia devs have quietly disabled this option. For this reason I'll stop using Nvidia Games app for my game streaming and switch to alternatives instead. It clearly shows that they have a different agenda rather than making using experience better.
