Regulations and season dates always available on your phone. This is further enhanced with multiple features that makes it easy to enjoy the outdoors in NYS
Other than helping to quick access some information from the DEC website, there doesn't seem to be much more use for it. I was looking to be able to access my NYS DEC account from here, which the app is touted as being able to do, but I don't see any option to do so. Even the tutorial doesn't work.
App was OK for a while but I got logged off and couldn't log back on. Needed to update user name and password but app wouldn't work and i called the phone number associated with app and it kept ringing and no one answering. Very Frustrating.
I like the links to my hunting & fishing licenses and other hunting regulations. THAT SAID, I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE FACT THAT I CANNOT USE THE GPS FEATURES. WHENEVER I TRY TO USE THE NEAREST ME FEATURE THE APP SHUTS DOWN. I HAVE SENT SEVERAL FEEDBACK EMAILS IN REGARD TO THIS BUT HAVE HAD NO RESPONSE OR RESOLUTION. VERY VERY FRUSTRATED!
This app is useless. I can't find a map anywhere or state forests outside of central NY. I expected to use this with my GPS and find place to hunt and hike.
App keeps freezing when I open it. Can't get past the intro screen. Uninstalled and reinstalled but still freezes.
Very handy! Allows access to the sportsman's guide from where ever you are ie. Season dates unit bounderies and bag limits. You can even report your kills and find the nearest game processing station. 👍
I like the app for all the useful information but wish the app would be updated to reflect 2020 seasons. And update on a regular basis.
August 2021 and still has the 2019 season maps. Useless and reflect poorly on any person associated with this app's development and maintenance
I gave it a 4 because I dont believe in perfect scores, but nonetheless it's a very good app that's easy to use and has kept me out of trouble.
Might just be my phone but I installed it and it wouldn't open, so I uninstalled it, restarted my phone, and now it won't even download.
Would like more information on hiking. And maps of state land. And wildlife know in that area.
Very handy when looking for new places to hunt or fish also now makes reporting a harvest easier.
Nothing is updated.. season maps are 2019 .. better off getting the season book when you buy your license

App needs to be updated every year to reflect new season dates!
Overall a useful app, however some links don't work on Android phone.
Must have if your an outdoorsman, hunting, fishing, camping trip, etc,etc!
Very easy to report harvest and purchase licenses. Just showed my daughter in law the app and she used it to purchase her fishing license.
It's nice to have the app. Do you know what deer management area a year in 9j 9k so on.
Very helpful when planning an outdoor activity or while traveling within the state
Half of links wont work.. click a link and it closes the app...typical for anything GOV does..

Changed app and now it won't load. Oh well. It was a nice app when it was called pocket ranger.

When it worked it was helpful with alot of information at your fingertips and current new and events. Since the latest update I just get a white screen. The other pages are hit or miss if they open or close the app.
