Great app displays official, hi-res official maps of ALL metro area maps: MTA subway, busses, LIRR, Metro North, PATH, and NJT. Use this as you would the big paper maps you get from the booth, but easier to hold in your phone. I live by this app, just wish it were less glitchy when scrolling the MTA high resolution maps.

I have downloaded this app before and it worked like a dream. Out of nowhere I do an update and the effing thing doesn't want to work. The only aspect functioning is the subway map. The bus aspect continues to state that there was an error when downloading the map and try again. I've uninstall and reinstall so many times in hopes of fixing the issue. This app has most definitely lost its touch

Used to show train times when you clicked on a station. Now that functionality has been removed. Don't know if embark had a patent on that feature or something. Afterwards it was still functional as a map but now it gives an error message of no internet connection whether I'm on 3g, 4g or wifi.

None of the features work and I tried installing this twice already. I am using a Samsung Galaxy S3. Every station says No Times To Show and the service alerts stall out and do not download. Ok if you just want to look at maps but you can easily just download the PDF maps and it wouldn't be any different.

I use this all the time to quickly check bus and train stops and connections. Instantaneous because the ones I use are downloaded on my device and I don't have to wait for slow connection. However, there is a new M12 bus. I have looked repeatedly in the last several weeks but no update has appeared. This makes me think there may be other lines that have not been updated to reflect changes.

Can't rate 0 stars or would. Most data seriously out of date. Handles zoom and pan well; station select feature for subway needs work. Subway scheds spotty and incomplete, no MNRR or LIRR scheds, maps over a year old. Alerts not updating; with all the data issues, no confidence in schedule data either.

This app is officially broken. At least on the Nexus 5. It can no longer DL any maps. App hasn't been updated since 2011 back with that Episode 6 debacle. It's a shame the this app has been abandoned, it was the best of its kind at one point. Uninstalled

"No internet connection available": regardless whether it's Wi-Fi or mobile data, this app refuses to recognize any active Internet connection to download maps on my Motorola droid RAZR M. Also, it no longer seems to be able to differentiate between internal memory and the SD card so maps, if they COULD be downloaded, would take up valuable internal space.

This app has so much potential, it's near perfect, for this last update (there has been one since June, btw) the map is constantly reloading every time I pan around, making it USELESS! No more checking on the fly, it takes forever to load on my very good phone. Fix this!

This app is good, allows you to have maps for different services. I am getting a constant download error (no internet connection available) even though I am on Wi-Fi. I also don't like that the bus maps are not zoomable, very hard to see the route of the buses. If you fix these problems, the app would be a lot better.

This App worked great on my g2 with ginger bread but on my nexus 4 on 4.2.1 the subway map works but when you tap on any of the stations for times there are none, mysteriously. Great App when it does work. Please update it and I will gladly give you a five star rating.

I usually don't comment on apps but I had to for this one. This app is a lifesaver for ppl like me in nyc who use the subway all the time. Its for sure a 5 star app in my opinion only thing they need to fix an should be noted, after I downloaded the app I had to open an close it a few times before it actually downloaded an update bundle for the times an schedules. Other than that the best app out for subways times an maps at least in nyc.

I use to love this app until they stopped showing arrival and departure times. Now any real New Yorker will find this app to be useless. There are train maps on every train cart, on every platform. Using this app while waiting for the train is useless except for the thieves who grab your phone because your not paying attention.

Used to be the best train/bus app for anyone that lives in NYC. Now I get the same "no internet connection" error that others are having trouble with constantly, even on WiFi and sitting within arms reach of the router. Running on Galaxy Note II with Android 4.3.1

I just upgraded to Kit Kat and reinstalled this app. It refuses to download any transit maps with the message "no internet connection available." It's a real shame because it was one of the original open data apps for MTA transit. I've never given a bad review before, but there are too many other apps available now with real-time transit info for this to be acceptable

The subway map is old, needs to be updated to reflect that the R stops at Cortland in both directions. The notifications are useless. It has planned service changes from January in March and unplanned changes are never reflected. I like having the bus map. I downloaded for subway notifications since it doesn't work I'm going to find another app.

This used to be the best app out there for public transit in NYC. The only thing that still works are the subway map and Bronx bus map. Nothing else downloads. Service alerts don't work, subway times don't work, subway station maps don't work. I'm looking for something new that the developers haven't abandoned if anyone has any suggestions!

This app was great, then it decided not to load train times for several months, but with the new bundle update it all works again! Train times are great! Not always 100% accurate because they are not updated with live delay alerts, but get there 5 mins early and you're usually good. Easy to use, quick and convenient!

I couldn't download maps because it was saying I didn't have an internet connection. I had 3 bars of 4g but I'm guessing it needed wifi. If that's the case it should offer an option to download over my data connection. This lack of forethought and inconsistency with other apps has prompted me to switch transit apps.

A. G. u. Oct 5, 2013

app works great during the day but some nights doesn't give the time schedule at certain station like mine. now it doesnt show anytime at all for any station before a "bundle" update would ask to be accepted but now none of that happens.I hope this app goes back to normal otherwise its pointless to have!

A. G. u. Mar 1, 2013

If I downloaded this app to use as a subway map, it'd get five stars. I however, downloaded it to help me coordinate transportation during my first c visit to NYC. Since the times no longer work and there aren't any updates, it only gets two.

Ale. C. May 22, 2013

the maps on my Galaxy S4 are not readable because the zoom is limited only 1 step. The whole graphic engine is crap, jagging and stuff. terrible user experience. Same thing with the bus maps and the neigborhood maps, THEY ARE NOT READABLE. alerts never downloading. what is this app is supposed to do? shameful. Learn from some quality iOS app.

Sha. D. Oct 8, 2014

The App can be downloaded but it does not connet to theinternet as the website addresses it needs to acquire information have probably been changed and not updated in the app. I used to use it but its off my phone until they fix this.

Bri. K. Dec 18, 2012

When I first got this app a year ago, it was amazing and had no force closes. Now it closes every time I check for alerts. They only things that make this app useful are the alerts and train arrival times. There are better apps out there if you just want the maps.

A. G. u. Apr 8, 2012

It used to be a simple NYC Subway map app, but then the developer started adding other functions that he did not seem to know how to integrate into the app. Now, there are more problems. The graphic shifting effects of the map images themselves are distracting and have to be made better or simpler.
