This is supposed to work with a VR viewer and have the "cardboard viewer" option for 3D viewing, but it doesn't give me that option. It shows only a single image which doesn't give the 3D depth it is supposed to. Tech support was useless.
Used to really like this app and the stories. But it has not been updated for a year and it refuses to connect to wifi for some reason.
What happened this app doesn't work anymore which is a shame because it was really cool BEFORE when it was working properly.
keeps saying trying to connect to the internet. I'm sitting next to the wireless router
Really felt that I was at the various scrnes.
This is not what i exspected out of this app or the vt world!!! Stinks waste of money.
Great imaginative approach to a new, immersive form of media. Embedded political slant is subtle-but-clear; however, the 360-degree videography is extraordinary.
It never worked for me. Wouldn't recognize my bluetooth earphones, wouldn't play, wouldn't download.
The limitations of VR are frequently invoked -"It's not there yet"- but what it can do right now is not inconsiderable, as can be seen in NYT's work.
Is the best app I ever Downloaded.
Please add the ability to favorite videos. I have downloaded several videos but have no way to easily go back to them, without searching through the whole library. Other than that it's a good app and the videos are really good 👍
One of the best ways to introduce a friend to VR. Just wish I could bookmark one.
Great VR app for those with or without a headset. Beautiful blend of drama, art, news, music, documentary. Recommended!
Doesn't work with my phone.
Doesn't work with pixel 2!
I love the subjects chosen.
Upgrading my Nexus 6p to Oreo fixed the video freezing problem I had with Nougat.
Nice videos but doesn't always have bandwidth to stream and I can only save to SdCard so needless to say I don't have space. The resolution of the videos doesn't seem to be as good as youtube vr so hard to watch for any length of time.
First version worked fine on S5, no download needed. Now with all the updates it hangs up when put in the cardboard viewer. Too bad because the content was super but worthless if you can't watch it.
Has yet to work for me on either my Samsung S4 or my Dell PC. Everytime I try to watch it, it sends me to the Google Play Store to download the app. - even though I had already downloaded the app.
Not much to say except it does not work, it never worked, and I am not convinced it will ever work. It gets hung up and goes back to the smartphone home page every time I try to watch a video
I think it is amazing. I've flown through space and ridden a tank through the streets of Falujah, Iraq. I'm looking forward to taking a trip to the Antarctica research area tonight. Wish me luck! I'm using a Motorola Moto z
It used To run and it was great and now it won't run
Great for current level of technology
Can't believe the daily 360 doesn't have a way to look at it in VR - talk about a missed opportunity
Today, I watched using this app with Daydream view for the first time. I've watching videos on this app and it has whetted my interest in VR media ahead of the flood of new devices popping up. Thank you, NYTimes....
Is this supposed to give the impression that you're looking at a stationary scene, so that when you turn your head you're looking at a different part of it? That's not what I get. When I turn my head (in either 360 mode or using google cardboard) the scene stays the same; it's as though the virtual reality turned with the phone (Samsung SM-G532M). It's like an ordinary 3D viewer, not virtual reality. This phone has an accelerometer; is it somehow turned off, or does the app not connect with it?
