Playing their videos seems to be a bit difficult... takes forever for the first add 5o play. Then sometime if you click the play button again because it appears nothing us happening it eventually plays twice in parallel, sound and all... then whe. You back out of that article to the main page it is still playing, only way to stop it is to kill the app.

Too much premium content that requires a subscription of $25 per month to access. Once signed up to premium, it's too hard to cancel requiring a phone call. You should be able to cancel online the same way that you can sign up.

Very unstable app. Randomly cc loses of its own accord. Support state it's because too many apps might be open but it happens regardless. Article headline images don't alter to screen dimensions, so you lose part of picture.

Crashes lots since the update. Even with a freshly restarted phone. Definitely not my phone or Internet because nothing else crashes. Halfway through ready a story it'll just freeze and quit out. You guys need to optimize it a bit more. I'm Using a Galaxy Note 20 ultra...

This has to be the buggiest app ever! Kicks me out at least 2 or 3 times a day. Won't play embedded videos that are part of a story ie from Twitter/instagram. I pay for premium content but it's so full of ads it's almost more ad than story! The ads I can live with, the kicking out and not playing links not so much.

Following a recent update, the app has been crashing several times per day. It seldom had any problems prior to this. It's also very power-hungry and this has been getting worse with recent updates, adverts or both.

Annoying...doesn't display all the words at the end of paragraphs..they are mysteriously missing. And paying for a premium subscription and having to watch longer advertising videos than the article is equally annoying

Horribly unstable. Crashes all the time. When trying to Swipe to the next article you end up clicking an ad or random article you don't want to go into.

I access the app with a premium suscripción for my household, yet each note is filled with advertising. For watching a video, you have to wait for a commercial to run 20-30 seconds. Sometimes the advertising takes longer than the actual video. The notes coming from the NYT are a plus.

The app frequently crashes and articles frequently don't open when selected. Started out good, but is just plain frustrating now.

App has been continuously crashing for some days now. Have been deleting app and reloading, but it remains the same. Not sure if this issue has been caused by recent Android software upgrade, or if it is the Herald app itself. Fix needed.

Excellent App. You need a subscription to read the "premium" articles, which are nearly all those that one may want to read. The App takes a few extra seconds to load which is undesirable. Overall it is a top news app for NZ news.

items hard to open a great deal of times, several tries needed. I notice I'm not the only one having trouble with this.

Difficult to use. Often goes to another article when I'm trying to scroll up. Often freezes or won't open articles.

App crashes if you scroll too quickly. Please fix. Apart from that one of the better NZ news sites

Some very biased and poor reporting. The app constantly crashes and to cancel the sub requires ringing them.

The app keeps on opening random pages which is very annoying when you are trying to get to one section having to close each article/ page before you get to where you want to be.

I prefer more reading, most is locked out when you purchase paper copy to read, you feel more could still be on here for free few to many hiccups in app , sometimes time to load and adds jump around is my go to page for up to-date news enjoy reading daily , and yes If I removed from phone I would miss it tried the paid content, still not the same as paper form

Disappointing app: Slow to open, photos dont rotate, notification often links to wrong article, does not meet the 'award winning' brag. Content: usually well written, but blatantly right wing in its extreme imbalance of commentators. Thank you for asking.

my only source of NZ news but the app is very frustrating. it regularly freezes and shuts down.

Only thing that has changed is that the links take several pushes to load the article. Not my phone, cos Stuff and others are OK.

Fairly standard coverage compared to print, but many articles remain for days if left unread.... which can be a good thing or thoroughly annoying. Very intrusive ads.

Mobile app crashes frequently and often. Very annoying as I am a Premium subscriber.

60%rating from me atm and climbing only slowly. Where are all the fiercely independant, cut to the bone, the truth or be damned corresspondants that the herald was known for gone? Reading the reporting that vigorously challenge the statis quo and readers minds gets my approval everytime. love reading Mike. Heather is a standout hero and deserves a medal, Mathew's somewhere along the road dropped his balls which is a pity. Grow them back please m8. Do we really need a recycled Paula?

Pop up ads every time you click on an article lesson's readers enjoyment. The font is light and thin making hard reading on phone. Proof reading of articles before submitting is basic 101

Why can't I bloody well read premium when I've paid for it???? I'm getting sick of always being asked to subscribe to premium when I want to read premium when I'm already a bloody paid subscriber!!!

A lot of the news are negative stories, it would be good to see a bit more positive news reported

App a little slow to load. Some bias journalism

NZ Herald is an amareurish and hopelessly biased media organisation. They care less about the truth and more about promoting a government friendly left wing narrative. Good, honest, fair, balanced journalism is almost completely lost from NZ now. It is very sad.
