Needs to be expanded to cover more of the common native trees. Some of the photos are not great for Identification purposes. Then it will be an awesome tool!
Spent a while trying to identify a native tree using Google lens and other apps. Downloaded NZ Trees and identified it straight away. It's useful and free!
Good app, clean design and good information. Fifth star if and when photo identification is added. It would not be too hard for a Convolutional Neural Net in 2020.
This is a handy app. It has very interesting facts about tree's uses. The only thing is that it doesn't cover all NZ trees so would be good to have more.
It coudnt get any matches not matter how much i changed the leaf features this app was useless for me who knows nothing about trees and wants to identify the native trees on my property
Tried several times, but it does not work for me. It should be the app to go through, but i donot bother anymore.
Too generous to give this more than 3 stars. Plants missing and no photo ID. It's an ok plant almanac.

Would have been 5 STARS because the educational aspects, content and functionality is commendable, however the need to access my device details to the extent demanded is questionable - and like all Apps, if you don't like/agree to it, you don't get to use the App :( -1 Star. In addition, the link to your privacy policy from Google Play takes the user to the TreeApp product page, and there is no specific TreeApp privacy policy stated? Given your target audience, I think this is a large oversight, but easily addressed. -1 Star. Will amend to 4 or maybe 5 stars when the TreeApp privacy statement is added.
Love the app. Was surprised to see spelling and grammar mistakes from a university developed app tho. Will be very handy both for me and my kids!😎🤙

Just what I needed to identify native trees
Search engine a bit weak
Some pretty standard trees are still missing like the Puka (not the vine). love the layout. Rongoa medicinal uses is really insightful and perhaps AUT could think about calling it that respectfully, also the flower and fruiting calendar is bang on. If it gets bulked up with propagation info and more trees I'd be using it every day.
