This is an excellent, almost amazing app. The guide's voice is perfect, we learned interesting things, and of course if we didn't feel like being assisted we could just turn it off. I would highly recommend this and actually prefer this to all but the best in-person your guides. Have used this one and the one for the Big Island, which is also excellent.
We started on Big Island, then Maui, then Oahu. Comparing the 3 version this was the weakest. I didn't feel like the turn off directions were as spot on and it led to some misturns and overall it was the least enjoyable. That being said, it was still a good app to have and if someone was just visiting Oahu, I would definitely recommend it. But if you were doing the islands like we did, I would say it's not as worth it. 1 thing I truly wish for is if I could type in or search by a destination.
Fantastic!!! Don't leave home without it. Wife and I were there for a week celebrating 50 Anniversary and once I started this app, I made sure it was the first thing I turned on in the car. Spent a week on Maui too and used that app also. So much information that you may miss and even on the stretches of highway that have nothing special, the app tells you of history in the area. No need to tell it where you are going as it lets you know the options as you are driving. Love the whole experience.
Great app for our self-touring, good directions, good audio, plenty of interesting information and history but not constantly talking. We liked the ability to pickup tours where we were. Well worth it!
The commentary was great, but the app was unfortunately plagued by frequent audio glitches where audio would cut off before it was finished and sometimes not even play at all.
Beware: this app does not play well with USB charging ports or Android Auto. We only had a USB charging cable, so we had to restart the app constantly to get the audio to play in the car.
First trip to Hawaii, used the app for the road to Hana and had an amazing experience. Then used this one to tour Oahu and was just as fantastic. Just rent a Jeep and turn on the app. Highly recommended!!!!
Was hoping to use this in Oahu, but the map didn't load due to network issues and kept on crashing. I spent money on an app I was unable to use, would prefer to have my $ back.
This app is a great companion for visiting Oahu. Driving directions were even better than most actual apps like waze or google maps.

This app is pretty great! Really recommend if you get a car and are new to oahu. Showed us alot of cool places i know we wouldn't have found on our own. Might be a little touristy for some but just what we where looking for our first time on the island... 6 bucks for at least two days of fun easily best money we spent. I almost never review and especially never buy apps but really glad i broke that rule for this one.. only downside is what you've seen on other reviews only works one direction
This was the absolute best way to tour Oahu with a rental car. SO glad we found this app and we're able to use it on multiple islands in Hawaii this week. We'll be looking for GyPSy Guides in all our future destinations where we have a rental car. LOVED IT!!!
The tours are pre-programmed and do play as you drive, in one direction only; which is a bummer. Some of the info is interesting, otherwise, if you want to know where all the tourist traps are this is the app for you.
Overall a good app. The commentary is very useful and helpful. The reason for the 3 stars is that not all "pay for" attractions are identified and the navigational directions are a little hit and miss. i didnt like the way the nareator would say there is a turn up ahead and then launch into a monolgue about the attraction and neglect to give an update on the actual turn. Had to keep Google maps running on a second phone to ensure we made the turns.
