A decent app for ATN 4k Pro, just one little problem. I cannot seem to delete any photo's/video's without removing the card and putting into laptop. Sort this out and I'll up the rating. Scratch that. Now I have NO icon and it fails to connect on Samsung Xcover4 Android 9. Also, the view over wi-fi to phone doesn't rotate when phone is put in the horizontal, it stays in the vertical. Allowing the app to rotate to the horizontal would give a much better view.
The app used to work what I would describe as okay. Live steam tended to disconnect randomly even with data off. Now I can not download my pictures or videos to my android phone at all. The scope and app are both updated to the latest versions. I have removed and reinstalled the app and factory reset the 4k pro. Still no file transfer!!!!! This needs to be fixed for us after our investment in ATN products.
Poor app , connectivity is intermittent and you actually feel lucky if it works when you need it. Needs work on stability and so does the scope, lots of tools for good marketing but end user experience is going to hurt this product unless it's saved soon.
Doesn't work well with Android. I cannot connect at all. I have tried all different setting and configurations. I have latest update with scope and more. Horrible app. I was able to connect when I first got the scope and now all updates and this app not working.
Any chance someone is going to fix this app on android? Can't download photos or movies from the scope to a phone running android 12... multiple errors; can't create directory /.advBook/MEDIA and if you create that directory structure manually it says it can't find the file... pretty useless.
App continually says it's disconnected from wifi and to reconnect but when I go into phone settings it still says connected. Very frustrating. Even when it is connected I can't control the scope with the app, it says it needs to be synced
App was working originally but no longer can transfer photos and videos wirelessly to my Note 10. Error "File Not Found! Unable to transfer" appears and it just keeps circling unless I close the app.
This app could be great , few things wrong . The gallery could have a better interface . You cant scroll through photos at all. Each photo has to be individually selected to view. This is a major pain when trying to find something. Also cant zoom or do anything with the photo . It would also be nice to be able to download the photo or video straight to your device rather then have to transfer it with the SD card. This should be easy to do over wi fi or blue tooth connection.
In general the app works well, however there is a huge delay in the real time video stream. When first starting the stream, the delay is minimal, but the longer it is active, the longer the delay. You can exit out of video stream (viewfinder) and go back to restart the delay. Is there some way to reduce the quality of the streaming video, as it appears as though the lag is caused by buffering delays? I have a new Mars/Thor 4 4.5-18x. If it wasn't for this issue, I would rate it much higher.
Attempting to view what is seen through the scope with this App is about useless. Lots of lag. About 2 seconds worth. I can't view the pictures and videos through the scopes screen (firmware issue maybe), and I can't view them with the App either. I don't know if it is an App or scope firmware issue, but trying to zero the scope, the value that the cross hair moves is a 5 which makes it very difficult to get a good zero. Need to adjust by a value of 1 like you can with the X-Sight II.
so far everything works great except the share function. I cant share content from the app, or save to my gallery. this needs to be fixed ASAP because I believe I speak for everyone when I say we don't want to have to pull the SD card out and put in our phone or laptop everytime we want to share content. This is kind of a big deal considering the entire point of videoing a kill is to then share that content with others. Other than that, I'm pleased with the apps operation.
December 2018 update: Gallery still won't transfer files to phone, it always gets interrupted. Videos won't load or transfer. Still one star, I would rate lower if I could. None of the features that convinced me to buy a 4k Pro work on the scope or app. I've been patiently waiting for upgrades to the app and firmware for the scope but all they did was add more features and options that don't work.
App seems to work fine on the Galaxy S9 with a few issues. If you're not that technical, you will want to ask someone else or, wait a year or two.. 1. Storage doesn't or didn't prompt so, I had to go to the app and provide access to storage. 2. Sharing feature doesn't work - if you attempt to share, even a pic or video from either the device or android, the app crashes... 3. The wifi requirement also requires you turn everything on the phone off - prior to doing any transfers - once you wifi connect, the device will allow you to save from device to phone but, its a little flaky - it does work but, its hit and miss.. WouldBeNice: 1. If the device would connect to wifi as a DNLA or media server on the same network, as well as host file access - there are tons of hub devices, such as RavHUB that allow these simple options - even USB and this would negate HDMI or the fact that HDMI is missing - it could be streamed from a device that is connected to the DNLA server and cut down on the need for elaborate connection software. 2. A way to upload custom reticals or logo for a ton of users who already have the ATN logo in their video. 3. Ballistic info sharing to ATN..
No updates issues never fixed how about widescreen View for the viewfinder tech support said they were working on it over 6 months ago. no battery icon update. Losing faith real fast in atn
No longer able to transfer videos from device to android via wifi. Scopes are of latest firmware. Viewfinder is a solid 10 to 12 seconds delayed
Pretty neat! Takes a minute for the scope to connect; you'll see the wifi icon get a solid blue ring around it. When you click on Thor4, or whatever model you have, you see System Settings. It scrolls over like the carousel menu on the scope. Streaming is a little grainy but looks good. I'm happy with it.
Works, but... The Gallery is my least favorite part of the app, you can't tell which video you just shot with no way to see file names or organize them you just get blank icons with fps and size. Also having to turn off mobile data is annoying. It also makes it hard to find the videos you download to your phone instead of just putting them in your Download or DCIM folder.
Great idea if it all it's features would work. Viewfinder and picture/video features don't work. That's the best ones! Fix so all of the features work, ATN. You should be embarrassed to have an app with such low rating. Good paying customers deserve better!!!!!! UPDATE: HAVEN'T USED IN A FEW MONTHS AND UNINSTALLED/REINSTALLED. WORSE THAN IT EVER WAS. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! COME ON ATN!!!!!
Atn refuses to stand behind thier products. You will spend thousands of dollars on a "computer", that computer is super crude and runs like a first generation smart phone. It freezes and messes up constantly. It does not like cold weather. The charger has to be perfect (keep in mind they won't give you a block that they recommend) you just have to use what you got. My crosshairs keep going away due to an error message that the scope randomly kicks on. Atn refuses to answer an email. Good luck.
This app is pretty much worthless for an android at the moment. Come on atn step it up for us Droid users. I thought it would get better over the past year but it's gotten worse and I can't save a video at all now
So I downloaded the app to both my Samsung Note 9 and my Note Pro 12.2. The quality of the video is OK but nothing like the commercials I've seen. Its a little cumbersome to use.
Meh...sort of works. For Android, as others have said, you have to turn off mobile data to connect to your ATN device's wifi. Not able to download videos for some reason. ATN, get more android devs plz.
This app could be very good but it is lacking in some areas. Rotation of view could be easier and when you do rotate to get a better view it should be full screen not 3/4 or less. Staying connected is another issue. Would very much like to see a better app for sure.
I will rate this app 1 star until all issues are resolved.. the position of the retcle displayed on the app (viewfinder) does not match the scope.. also the high lag makes it unusable anyway so... ANT, why don't you make it possible to connect a smartphone/tablet via the usb port to eliminate lag? this would make it an ideal night vision setup..
Won't transfer files from scope to phone says file not found. Unistalled and reinstall and same thing
Latest update is absolutely brilliant! I can now save videos/pictures but now it also sends the file to a separate file in my gallery on my phone, making it easier to access than having to access the app every time I want to see what I've saved. The only thing I would have liked to see is being able to rotate the phone in the app but because it sends the file to my gallery so that makes up for it. Really pleased with the update!
