I love the app overall. But please make the app optional. I recently switched my custom rom and now its showing a super unhelpful narrow map next to the connection search. Probably due to the 1440p display.
Fast, but missing something for me. Its fast in showing results, you can scroll the results in a really nice way, and also the feature that shows you were you should be along the route is great. I wanted to use it for Vienna, but sadly some transports inside Vienna that also travel outside of it are not included. That breaks the usefulness for me. Also no own map, and the connection to Google maps doesn't just pop up the route selected.
The interface feels painfully outdated, but all functionality necessary for everyday transit is 90% solid. Sometimes gets delays wrong, but that's a real-time issue and probably can't be precalculated 3 hours in advance. I only use Öffi Directions, the other 2 are fairly useless. Would like to get rid of those, so they don't clutter up my app drawer. A True-black Dark mode would be nice, too. The built-in "Add Trip to Calendar" is an awesome feature that I use. Every. Single. Day.
Very comprehensive, nearly global app. Super intuitive interface, all the details you need! Both for your hometown to find the best short cuts when there are delays or to find your way around a new, unknown city. Hands down the only public transport app you will ever need. Beware of the rip off "öffi Plus", that stole this one and added adds!
This is the best app for navigating in Prague. The ability to find journeys that require a little bit of walking is incredibly useful. Unfortunately, the app uses only the straight-line distance when calculating transfer times between two stops, which is a major problem for underground stations.
Use the VRR network. Search for an address, not a stop. Display the available connections, click on and choose to start from another station along the way, you'll always have a weird error that the final destination address magically shows as a station and that's why the app can't search for it. That doesn't happen when using other networks.
For the past few months.. homescreen shortcuts "Plans" and "Directions" keep switching! Very weird and annoying! How does this happen?! Please fix this! :D Still awesome app! Keep up the good work! -since there is still no fix and it's massively annoying me.. 1 Star for now. 6 months later.. Still having this issue.. It's just stupid to change homescreen apps all the time because they get changed randomly....
The one and only app for me in Berlin at least Big drawback: Departure times are sometimes shown including delays (which are only shown on expanding the route section in the UI). However, those delays are never reliable, i.e. you are most likely to have missed the connection, because there either was no depay in the end or because the delay wasn't as big as the app assumed. Not good, especially when this makes you miss a rare night bus connection...
No dark mode. It shows only a very limited amount of connections.
The recommended travel routes are not always the best, but it works fine besides that :) in the past you could click a small map icon that opened Google maps, but that icon doesn't do anything anymore, so I have to open maps by hand to get the travel directions for the part that I have to travel by foot
we've had some strikes recently. those lines that still ran had live info, the rest only had schedule info. I can tell the difference by the cursive font in this app, in *SOME* screens. the directions timetable ("boxplot") unfortunately doesn't do that. I'd appreciate cursive font there as well. and maybe some color distinction (scheduled only in grayish?) or even a way to filter out the schedule-only results (which didn't run that day but normally do).
This app helped me out on several occasions including international train journeys. It works really, really well and I can recommend it from the bottom of my heart. As this app depends heavily on transportation network data, I want to be a bit more specific: My experience covers the local transportation networks of Vienna and Nürnberg, as well as the oebb and the Deutsche Bahn. However, when traveling by train in Germany keep in mind that mobile data connections are few and far between.
I really could not recommend enough this app! It has everything that you may imagine to manage your city trips. Free, no commercials and easy to use. The link TakeMeHome on the main screen is simply so useful...
I love this app because it gives all options for a trip with real time at each train station. I have been using Offi for 5 years. However I removed 1 star because since the last update a few weeks ago the app crashes with some train stations while other stations work fine.
Great app. It's simple to use and works flawlessly. It took me a bit to figure out how it works, but once I got the hang of it, it spared me no end of trouble while touring Cologne. Well done! I wish all apps were as straightforward and unpretentious. Who needs gimmicks!
Offi, is a little masterpiece app for public transport. Developed by one man, light weight, small data usage, useful functions - and its for different regions all in one app. Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt etc etc etc.
I was introduced to this app by a kind stranger in Halle. For someone completely new to Germany, this app has been a godsend. Thankfully it is in English, and pretty straightforward to use. I will definitely be using it a lot more! It would be great, if it can cover more areas and cities in Saxony-Anhalt!
I use this around Frankfurt - RMV - and it works better than any alternative I have found. Problems? It is occasionally delusional in identifying the closest station, and I'd like to be able to selectively delete older queries - it is "all or nothing" at present.
Best app I found out there in it's category. I especially like the widget which sadly has some problems with my device (galaxy note 10) at the moment. It loads one widget after the other and starts anew after the last. If that gets fixed I'd give 5 stars
Promising app but map for Krakow gives "server not found".
This is the best app for public transportation. The UI and the database are great. The app is intuitive, clear, gives me the info I need. On top of it, it's free and ad free. It's excellent.
I love this app so much. Very good overview plans and very easy to use and read point-to-point connections. This is one of the veeery few apps I would accept advertising as financing because it's sooo very good and useful. Thank you Mr. Schildbach keep on the good work.
Been using this app for Years! I love it.
Very useful and easy-to-use app with real-time departures and arrivals of public transportation in many regions of the world, great map interface, free and without ads. Sounds too good to be true? Well, be prepared for the fairy tale, and don't say you haven't been warned. : -)
Zurich is broken many stations including the main stations sihlquai tram stop show no departures even though you find directions just fine. it makes the widget quite useless. Some stops work fine though.
Perfect tool for a long time, especially in Munich. But now I receive complaints about TLS - I get a CertPathValidatorException, in the moment when I try to query for a connection. Time to install LineageOS as these error seems to come from out aged root ca certificates.
I actually love to use this app. The only catch by now is the map that is constantly there. Reason #1 I honestly can't see anything on it properly. #2 it makes the search engine isplay smaller as well and therefore #3 constantly distracts me. And I havn't found if or where I can make it disappear. I rarely need a map anyway and I would prefer if it was optional like it used to be.
