I travel a lot and this app initially appeared to be phenomenal. I have submit numerous business for BWS. Unfortunately none of the business in my area that would qualify have been contacted/listed. Gives the impression there are 3 in my city. It leads me to believe it could be possible for other areas. I have tried to contact BWS several times over the last year with no result. I didnt want to give a low review. Perhaps there was an error on my part nonetheless with the lack of communication I am not able to give this app, at this time, a positive rating.
I wished this app worked, especially now. But I did a simple check for men's clothing in New York and got no results. You should add a maximum range field in the filter cause I'm not going 300 miles just for some pants. Update: thank you for responding, but I just compared the Nearby button results to the search results and they don't match (same item men's clothing). However I think I've found the solution! Remove the Pick Category field and you actually get results,although it's still differ
The app is beautiful and I was excited to use it, but it keeps crashing unfortunately. Also, when I click the "nearby" option on the menu it shows me a map instead of the businesses that's near me. Pretty odd. Hopefully this all can be fixed soon!
Downloaded the app excited to see all the Black owned businesses nearby. Only seen about 3-4 businesses for the Oklahoma City metro area. I know there's WAY more. Just not updated or added in yet but that's okay! For those with more updated city areas, I would suggest this app otherwise. Useful and helpful! We need more apps like this plus I'm all for supporting Black owned businesses. 🖤
This app would be great if I could use it. I just downloaded it and I've only seen a banner saying an unexpected error occurred. I couldn't even get to the in app help section. Please fix it so I can find black owned businesses to support.
3 stars for now, because of the concept, but...im in Houston, Texas and there's 4 businesses that show up when i know for a fact there's a lot more. I've even worked at a few of them. I understand it's hard for y'all to get businesses to sign up or whatever they need to do to be visible, but maybe add some way for us to mark a business? I've got a few I could add.
Between the error messages and the slow loading process or not loading at all has made it difficult for me to use. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and still same issue. I will keep hope and reinstall at a later date.
I gave this app 3 stars because I love the concept, and appreciate someone putting together a list of black owned businesses. However, the app does not work correctly; it has constant time out or error issue.
The "find" function is trash. There is no way to customize the search and the results don't even pop up in alphabetical order. This makes the app relatively useless as I don't plan on scrolling through 546 pages of nationwide business to see if there's a black-owned business in my area.
App frequently returns no data or takes very long to load. Love the concept and usability when it's working, but this needs to be fixed so I can actually find businesses.
I received the "unepected error...contact support" message when trying to create a user name and profile, when trying to sign in with Google, and when I tried to skip that part and just see what businesses are near me. I will try again later.
Superb idea for an app. Works well. More businesses need to sign up and register their business. There is currently a few local to me that appear on this app at the moment.
This app needs to be updated and improved it takes forever to load and I can't get a list of photographers in Chicago because other things pop up along with the photographers that don't have anything to do with what I'm searching for please fix this app
It works! Seems like a good app so far. I just wish there were some near me lol, if anyone could check El Paso for black-owned businesses that would be great! If there are none that's ok, but I just don't know and nothing has popped up near me.
The concept is exactly what we need. The app still needs some work but I'm sure it's being updated and improved everyday. We have to nurture small things so they can grow into big things. That can't happen if we are quick to dismiss it.
The very first time I've ever downloaded an app from an ad. I love the idea of making it easier to support black owned businesses.
Love the layout of this app. Nice design and very easy user interface. But, can you guys please add Canada on there? Hopefully this app can be international!! Because buying black needs to be worldwide.
I just joined and as George just said (since I'm one of the Men's apparel places in New York, recently added to the app), for the life of me, I can't upload my profile photo. I keep getting an error forcing me to close the app. I restart it and try again, and it still won't let me upload my profile picture. Now I'm not Denzel, but I'm not that ugly either. Why can't I upload my profile photo, as a business owner. I'm sure people want to know who they're buying from.
Not available in the UK. Which is a massive shame but hopefully that's something for the future. It looks beautiful and navigates well. Will reinstall when it becomes available over here.
Unable to view anything. The app is slow and just keeps spinning. I'd love to see this prosper but it needs major work.
Love the concept and even posted on my social media but the app doesn't open, it needs improvement unfortunately I had to uninstall, because I couldn't get in the app.
I gave 2 stars for the concept. Love the idea but I could not use it. The app just kept scrolling like a web page with too much media (photos, videos, animated ads, etc.) and never allowed me the opportunity to find a full service online beauty supply that is black owned. I'm going to keep the app for now. Maybe I tried at a high traffic time. I will try again later and adjust my review accordingly. UPDATE: It's all good, now. Maybe it was a high traffic time.
