Offline dictionaries
Download dictionaries you want to the SD card the first time you launch the app and then perform simple or advance searches (with wild-cards), which come in handy when you're working on a crossword puzzle.
Definitions can also be read by the device using a text to speech module (some devices don't support this and some languages may not be available) and the application can be used with ebook readers.
There are more than 50 multi-lingual dictionaries to choose from, including English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Hebrew, Russian, Italian, Chinese, Portuguese, Dutch, Czech as well as synonyms and anagrams databases.
Dictionaries are added and improved regularly (ask us if you want a particular one).
It is possible to contribute to dictionaries and to add personal notes.Synchronize your notes with all your devices by connecting your Google account.
This version is ad supported but you may want to try the pro version which has no ads.

I own the paid version of this app. Every word I search for does not return any results. I am not searching for obscure words. I am searching simple words such as car, boat, tree, and house. I am only using English dictionaries in my searching. I do not know if this is a bug in the current version of this app, or if this app does not work with Android version 11. I have sent a support request to the developer, in the hopes that they respond quickly.
Hey I used to love this app till mid of 2020... as after that there may be some update came, for which the older .ddb dictionary files of mine are not working. Even the new ones are also not downloading and staying in the installed folder, rather vanish after the session ends and the next time again on opening the app one has to download them again. Moreover on 2 free slots, very unfair. Developer plz look into this & then I may rise my stars to 5
Was using it for approximately 5 years, really liked it, but the last half a year or so it keeps deleting all the dictionaries by itself. You want your 5 dictionaries back - watch these 5 longest ads. Thanks for years of good work, but it's time to upgrade, it seems
Best offline dictionary... Please update for proper android pie support for user interface and performance. One important thing is please remove all text to speech option while listening pronunciation of words because each time we have to select one accent from no of other accent. please keep one speech option only after selecting the deafult text to speech like us, uk Australia etc.
Overall I quite like this app. However, for an 'offline' app it regularly uses 40-60mb of my mobile data each month. I have turned automatic updating off so I'm not sure what it's using the data for but it's consuming a lot.
Has two great features that a lot of other dictionary apps don't have: offline dictionaries and dark mode. One potential improvement might be to update some of the dictionaries into more comprehensive ones.
Had been using this app for several years. Yet, since last update when I open the app, it sends me to some advertising web page in the browser. Had to delete the app. Very disappointed.
This app has updated itself automatically a few times, although all my updates are turned off. I don't see a setting for an update inside the app; so this is quite bizarre.
Was loyal user for years, but you, guys, just don't care anymore! Sending me everytime to the same youtube spam link I cannot even close! Everyone tolerates reasonable amount of ads, of course, unless developer got completely mad. Then we shop around. And guess what - there are new offline dictionaries now, even better than old ones. Good by.
I have been facing a problem since a month that everytime when I try to open the app it gets automatically close within 10 sec. I have forced close it and reinstalled it but the problem persists. Any solution cause I like this app.
Used to be very good app but now when not switched on flight mode, app will auto closed that is not usable at all. On Android 9. Developer kindly do something to overcome this problem. Thanks.
You guys have crossed the line with the annoyance of your ads. Don't you think that sending people to random web pages when they open the app is a bit too much?! I was a loyal user for about three years but have just uninstalled it
The dictionaries don't install, it starts installing slowly then stops at the beginning. My service is fine and I tried another offline dictionary app and it works, so it must be the app.
I've been using this for a while now. Great stuff. Except, the recent update broke it. I'm sure the devs will fix it soon, but right now i can't report the break, or even look up words. Not accounting for the singular negative experience in my rating of course. Go devs!
I've used this app for years and loved it but now as soon as I start to enter a word I get tasked to a web page ad (contest for YouTube). I've had a fitful and am looking for another app.
Keeps closing seconds after start. This makes the app unusable unless I turn airplane mode on, which is very inconvenient.
The first app I always install on my phone... Great app with alot of dictionaries to choose from. The bookmark feature is great for my word a day quest. It's a 5 for me. Thank you
Let's you download up to two dictionaries, but as of Jan 2022, still doesn't let you *USE* any! Once upon a time it used to work nicely, but now it is useless!
Ads every singe time you want to get another dictionary to fill up a slot. Ads are 30 seconds long, and then when you try to use the dictionary there results page is completely blank. Don't waste your time with this dictionary
I used this app for so many years, it was my favourite and really helpful one, it has always rescued me... But now, unfortunately, it's useless 'cause it says 'no dictionaries installed'.. Too bad!(( have to find something different..
Excellent app, I've been using it since And.2.1 Fast offline free dictionaries, not just English, but German-to-English, and vice versa, plus loads of other European countries.
been using it comfortably for years until the recent update where ads would pop up halfway as we use the app. it's just too annoying. uninstalled it.
I have used it for years, but I'm still a broke student, so ad version it is. Now this slot "update" will have me move to another app. :( Thanks for the past 6-7 years though.
this is literally the best dictionary there is. i use a lot of it's features, like wikitionary and synonyms. the fact that it's offline makes it even better!
I am loving this app... contains most of them words with best examples... bookmark feature is the best!!! really helpful... thank you! 😊 only demerit is the ad's... otherwise really cool app
The app became from the best useless. After update can't upload dictionaries. Says check internet connection, though inet is ok
When on/offline, nothing compares to the superb Offline Dictionaries. Instant reliability, in every aspect of the word. A life saver in properness of communication... A world of words! Thank you, NGHS
The app is used to be great. But the free version, which is limited to 2 dictionaries, currently has a bug and those two free dictionaries aren't become available after the installation. So the free version is completely unusable at the moment. While the paid version might be still good, I think it would be a strange to buy a paid version only because of a broken free version.
