Offline English Dictionary

I absolutely love this dictionary app, more than any of the others that I've used in the past. I like that it also includes slang, and idioms. Being a frequent reader, I refer to the app on a daily basis. I only have one small complaint/suggestion. It pronounces the words too fast, in my opinion. Sometimes the word blurs together when listening to the pronunciation. For example, the word 'contrasexual', sounds like 'contras-chill' to me. Thank you kindly.

It is a wonderful app that works without internet and no excess ads. It gives all different meanings and forms of a word. Just by clicking on any word in a definition you can head to its separate definition which comes very handy. All this in non-paid version! I prefer to keep my use of internet minimum for both environmental reasons and it helps to focus on real life better. I'm so thankful to you people for it. It just lacks in pronounciations then it would've been an app complete in itself.

The best ever—wish I'd found it years ago! The generic name you use offers no clue how great it is. If you include "Unabridged", it'll stand out much better from all the lesser dictionary apps. Suggestions: • Add a dark theme? The white background wastes power and is hard to use in low light. • When showing an entry, how about just keeping the same menu/name/search header, and just opening the next entry list over it? Is it really necessary to return to the previous page each time? Thanks!

Not so great. It has a feature called "Leitner Box" that I've never heard of, so I looked it up in the dictionary. It found Leitner (a surname) but not the term Leitner Box. I googled it, but have no idea how the feature works in the app. The TTS sounds awful and robotic, doesn't use my phone's TTS voice settings, and has dedicated UK and US buttons which sound better, but for only some entries. I don't want US or UK pronunciations, however. There are no visual themes or font settings.

Further to my review below, it does work offline! I had just assumed it didn't. Brilliant! ---- I like this app. It has provided the right level of information for me, so far. Surprisingly, I quite like hearing the American and English pronunciations. If it had an offline data, set that would be even better. Good work. Thanks

Fantastic application for vocabulary with synonyms. Especially the shortcut for the words when we tap on the other words. Although some irritating advertisements. Ultimately using the application by turning off mobile data for that application in settings. Hope you people to remove that advertisements specifically.

This is a really great app for learning meanjng of English words, which in turn has helped me improve my vocabulary. The app also helps me pronounce a word appropriately, and shows the difference between British and American articulation. Also, the app allows me see my previous searches (vocabs) easily and the offline version works well for me. This dictionary not only provide meaning of words but meaning of idioms, too. Thanks to the team for putting this together.

It's really makes me easier in researching a word in a different another word of the same particular align search at the same time. The analyzing form of word meaning is very clinical in understanding which makes it more good to use. Most assuredly, though not all words are in the app, but the best of it is; not using internet data before making your research makes it more supperb and intensify to be admired with. Therefore, they should reconstruct the app more.

This app is so amazing!! I though I'd never find a dictionary that'll content me but I was erroneous. It makes you grasp the meaning of words very easily and ads appear seldom and you can expliote it offline. I just dote this app so much! I 110% recommend.👌

I've been using this app for a while, and it's likely the best English dictionary I've ever used. The fact that it can be used offline is a major benefit, but aside from that, it's quick, it provides a wide range of definitions for each word, and, my favourite feature, it provides pronunciation guides and an etymological background for your search. The only downside is that you need to know the spelling of the word that you're searching for, but that's a very minor setback. Highly recommended.

Great app. Better than Oxford, Webster, and Collins as they lack so many words and want you to buy many dictionaries to compensate word deficiencies in one app or other. It's not good. I bet You will find way more words in this app. And it's enough for all your dictionary needs, if you ask ONLY for ONE. You also have IPA in it, synonyms. I love it. You can rely on it to give you meaning for any word you are searching: mostly.

Very useful dictionary, words are explained in detail. It is also great for pronunciation; you can find written and voiced both in British and American. One last thing it can be used offline.

This is one of the best apps you can find for free. Everything is simply in order. I used POD, Pocket Oxford Dictionary years back that was for PC and since then, I never found a better Dic like this one ever. You have my 5 stars, I wish I could give more. Good job Vocapture...

An excellent work that defines each word and related phrases with an astounding precision. I am very much impressed. That even rare and latest words find a place in it, is worth mentioning. This app is awesome, this is very useful app that too for free. This app gives syllables, word stress,funactics, historical evidence for the word which we use, sentences, similar and opposite words, pronouncation in uk and us accent and we can pick a particular word from the matter displayed which gives more comfortable for the user, it has book marks,it also has history of the words which we use. In addition to that this full is offline.This is totally awesome there is nothing even to suggest.

I love this dictionary, simply because it's free, it defines a word in terms easy to understand, it has sentence examples for each searched word, also gives an etymology of each word, making you know better how the word came about or was coined. I just love it, best dictionary I've used so far, thumbs up to you guys, for the ads, well, they are tolerable.

Thanks to this app, now I can look up for the meaning of the words while I'm offline and words are described in an awesome way. Good job. Although the would be great if the app focuses on the search bar so that I can start writting immediately after the app was opened. AUTO FOCUS👌

The app is simple to use, doesnt have annoying ads that flash up all the time and it offers word pronunciations that I find to be quite useful. I like the fact that I've been able to find almost any of the words that I've looked for, even technical ones sometimes.

This is a pretty good apps which definition clear and easy to understand. The only problem I encountered is whenever I searched for the word "optimizers" the app will automatically closed. It seems that it's a bug.

Very good app. You get almost, if not all, words you search for with good result. You can simply find the meaning of any word on the page you are by simply taping the word and it takes you there without steping back and typing the word. Great work by the developer. I recomend to everyone.

Telling the truth, I liked the dictionary very much but there are some problems with it : At first there are many ads which get on ones nerves when searching for a necessary word and as a result one wastes his time. I want you to remove those ads totally. But I loved two English accent are available . Hope to update and improve .

I'm completely in love with this dictionary. It provide me longest range of words, not only words but idioms too. It's best of all I have ever used. But I liked the app colour(dark blue) much than what they provide after updation(orange). Please help me to get that colour back. That was more satisfying. Thanks to Vocapture Team for their efforts.

One of the best dictionary. It also gives references as of from where it was taken. And the pronunciation of the word is also given. Moreover it gives many examples to understand better. And one of the most interesting feature is that when u find meaning for a word and stuck with another word in it , tap on it and u will be taken to that word!!!

Night mode!!! Night mode!!? I thought it was obvious for moden apps. Why is it missing here. Check on it plz for a 5 star Also search results only come when you type the first word, for example in an idiom. Make it possible to get results even when you type a word in the middle or the end of a phrase or an idiom for better search results. With this in place you will be the best because of plenty of words, idioms and phrases available in this version. Also add google voice typing feature

Just for now, since it was only a first while I used this app; I can say that it's a fully-packed awesome! defining structure was straight and comprehensible and ads aren't bothering unlike some dictionary apps out there, please keep on improvising Thank you!!!

I reaaly like the proverbs and idioms included. This app also gives you a history of all reads so that you can quickly revise. What i dont like very well is that there arent many examples, in some cases none, for some worda.

Great app!! Only app with such a vast dictionary that too offline. Also completely free and shows ads less frequently no pop-ups. The leitners box and bookmark section is extremely usefull incase you want to memorise difficult words. Much better than oxford dictionary. Thanyou developers😁

I was looking for a good dictionary for a while. This dictionary is great. Easy design and good access to the vocabulary is also a simple and awesome environment. vocabulary with their human voice recorded pronunciation.

Very good. Works correctly offline and has a big enough vocabulary to have all the words I throw at it - unlike others who demand unnecessary permissions, and even then lack a full vocabulary. Please add dark theme.
