Offline Maps & Navigation

Maps are chronically out of date. This app's concept of getting you to your desired destination, via completely unnecessary loops off and back onto the route, is nothing short of bizarre. But if you're in no rush, and want an injection of comedy, go for it.

Great substitute for a sat nav. Have simultaneously used the app with my satnav to make a direct comparison. The app provides more information and the directions are more precise and accurate. The only criticism and I am nitpicking, is the indicated speed fluctuates more than the satnav. This I'm sure could be rectified with future development. I would give this app SIX stars if it were possible.

This app has several features that Google Maps don't have. Directions can be announced over car speakers on newer cars. Shows list of nearest gas stations. Shows the posted speed limit and how fast you are going. It also beeps when you go 5 miles over the speed limit. It saves on data usage by allowing you to download only the states you will be driving in. It also displays and calls out the street names.

Great graphics and functionality but verbal commands are lacking especially necessary for heavier traffic. In one trip, I missed 4 turns because the final instruction was right at the intersection. I ended up spending more time working around d heavy traffic then if I would have stayed in it. When it changes a route, it does not tell you what the next thing to look for is. I am flying blind when I can't rely on the graphics.

One of the best maps I use, the ability to download maps so you can use the app without data or roaming charges is a plus. I can drive with a passenger as my navigator on my tablet or just on my phone when alone makes it handy. Having upgraded the app to enable access to its other features as a lifetime facility was cheap. Update: It bothers me that the app continues to run in the background when i have no plans to travel for a while. I have yet to find out how to stop it using the battery.

tested this app with a 500 mile road trip into Canada, if I could give it 6 stars I would. I have tried other apps and stand alone GPS units, this by far is the best, and its FREE. From the seamless interface with my other music programs, a pop up window for proper lane for highway interchanges to speed limits in towns and city traffic. it has it all! I find it works best using a tablet only because with the amount of features it might be hard to read on a small phone.

It is SO difficult finding a good, accurate navigation app that's not Google Maps/Waze! I've tried several, and all of them, this one included, is slim on the business data. Half the places I search for don't come up, searching for a category like "grocery store" comes up with very poor and somewhat off results, and a lot of the places it does have aren't quite in the right place. Many places I search for are marked as being in the middle of the road so I have no idea if I need to be ready on the right or left. That said, since all of them are equally bad with the data, THIS one is the best I've seen with the features (like HUD display and video camera, and showing you lane suggestions! Huge plus!) But what amazed me was how good it is at finding faster alternate routes. I daresay on that, it might actually be better than Google! Today it diverted me around a jam that Google never has diverted me around, and I got where I needed much faster than estimated. But then again, tonight it had me go a pretty weird way on a very straight-forward trip... I can only hope it was because of some weird holiday traffic ahead, I hope. Anyway, Map/Navigation app has been the hardest app I've found to replace using Google, and it's the one app I've not settled on an alternate yet. But it's between this or MapQuests (their interface isn't as good as this one, but the database of businesses is slightly better.)

I recently used this program to drive to German and back 1200 miles. I've used google maps waze and navmii and this program is in a different league. You can see your speed and the speed limit of the road and gives you an audible notice if you go over the limit. The text is very easy to read on a phone unlike google maps. The instructions are clear, you can also change the sounds for all notifications, including the speed cameras, I use a whistle which works really well. It’s also very cost effective since you don’t have to pay for each country unlike navmii. I wish these programs would let you download the maps for a route.

In this latest version, when you zoom in on the road names they do not enlarge, indeed, they seem to get smaller and are totally unreadable. An earlier version was fine, however, there appears to be no facility to reinstall an earlier version. Software updates are suppose to fix bugs to improve the user experience. I flagged this problem up to the developer a little while ago, but nothing has been done. Some months ago I would have rated the App 4 stars, but now it barely manages 1.

I need to use this more to give a fair feedback. It does need some tweaking - for example, some bear left or bear right instructions are actually turnings off the road you are on so should be 'turn left' or 'turn right'. However, this is a very good offline nav system indeed. Accurate mapping and with good, efficient delivery of key information. It is always being updated and improved by the developers and is well on the way to being a five star product. It's impressive.

This is a pretty impressive app so far. With its offline map database and well-linked features, it could really give GoogleMaps a run for its money! I have one caveat though... and while it would be an easy fix for you guys, it is a BIG deal breaker for me until it's fixed: In 2D map mode, it allows you to toggle North-Up orientation... but the moment it goes back into Navigation mode, it reverts to turning the map according to bearing. As a legitimate mapping program, the option to keep north oriented upwards so that the overall mapping makes sense is VERY important... and with all its excellence compared to the other competing apps, this is the ONLY one I've ever seen which doesn't allow full-time classic map orientation. Please PLEASE PLEASE fix this in your next update!! When you do, this may well be the most perfect navigation app out there... but until then, I can't use it. I used it for two days on my route, and it just caused too many issues that I shouldn't have to deal with while driving. I'll be checking back periodically. I hope to be using it soon, and it'll get my final fifth star when this rudimentary feature is fixed. Thanks guys, and great job thus far!

I uninstalled this app then reinstalled it just so I could leave a negative review. The app started notifying me that it wasn't working while I was not in the app. It shouldn't have been running in the background. I had to uninstall it once ads for the application started popping up when I wasn't in the app. I was try to type a quick email to my boss and my screen froze and some random ad populated and I inadvertently tapped it. It just brought me back to the map that I'm not currently using. I downloaded this app so I can plan ahead for a trip to spain. I'll just pay for the gps when I rent the car.

The last few months the app seems to be broken. When you're on a main road, it leads you to any path that's a few meters shorter, even if it's a lot slower (and yes, in the settings I chose for 'Fastest Route' and not 'Shortest Route'). Example: this morning I was on the highway going 100km/h. The app told me to exit the highway. There was a traffic light, so I had to come to a full stop and then wait. The app then told me to take the highway again. It became a 3-minute detour. Broken!

almost perfect, the night mode is the best one out there. all this app needs is a distance scale (like Google maps), it would be perfect to place this at the top left corner, under the search bar. and make an option that it is always visible, while zooming or never (like Google maps) and this would be the best sat nav out here. if you guys are going to implement this feature, please make an option "always visible" thanks in advance, a solid 4 stars!

Downloaded offline maps & Navigation, it stuck at 75% like others. But there is a way out. Exit & reopen the app, delete the previously downloaded map, and after deleting the previous map, now you can download the complete map of whichever country you want. There are very few details in the Map of Pakistan and many important points are missing, but as this app is free, we should not be complaining about the missing points. Keep updating these offline maps as it can become the best offline map if updated regularly.

Quite a great app when it worked. Was on a roadtrip and the offline navigation was quite impressive. All of a sudden, the app crashes and when I go back, it says that it needs internet connection to determine what country its in. At some point with WiFi, the app works again from that point on. But in a week, the app crashed about 4 times, making it unusable. At times really hindering the journey.

NOT RELIABLE FOR OFFLINE. Careful if you plan on depending on this app. It sometimes will close and then won't open again without a network connection. I think this might be related to when you change countries, because every time I crossed borders it wouldn't start again without connection. I was depending on it while driving and it caused me a lot of stress, so please use with caution.

Needs improvement! Pro: nice UI, well-designed speed limit change announcents. Con: VERY slow search, does not find many hotels by name (only by street address), does not show blocked streets (we found out the hard way yesterday and switched to Google Maps), and does not have function to indicate blocked roads for rerouting. So, after having used it for more than a month, I cannot unequivocally recommend it. Right now it has more negative aspects than positive.

Sat Nav is pretty good, not 100% accurate on destination but accurate enough ( couldn't work out which side of the dual carriageway I wanted to visit ). So common sense has to prevail. Dash Cam isn't too bad either ( video quality depends on your phone I suppose ). But lack of instructions meant it was a bit hit & miss at first ( still don't know how the footage is saved. Is it rolling footage and if so for how long: or is it saved in 5 minute chunks ). But still handy to have for free, so not complaining, but better operating manual would be nice.

Obviously, not as mainstream as Google maps. But for someone looking to navigate on your phone without Google, this is the absolute best option. For 25 bucks you can't beat a lifetime of updates either. Also, there are plenty of features that Google doesn't have and a lot more customization options too. In that regard, this is better than Google maps x10!

I tried various apps and this is the only one working without any problems. This is a very good app that I use on a Android car radio. It worked very good so far and the only reason I give 4 stars is that the maps needs an update. The speed limits are not up to date and there are new roads not added yet. Update the maps and it is a 100% app.

I have no idea where do they get their maps from, but these are a product of pure fantasy. Tried using it in New Zealand. Maps were indicating land where there is an ocean in fact (check it, according to this app ferries from Auckland are sailing on the land for a few kilometers before reaching the sea), there are non-existing highways in the maps (and it is trying to navigate through them). And some "small" issues - e.g. I didn't find any way to display scale on the map, which makes it mostly useless (it is good to know that there is a shopping center to the North, but it would be also nice to know if it is 200 meters or 20 kilometers away). Absolute, useless rubbish.

This is the best off-line navigation app thus far. I have tried almost every navigational app on Google Play and based on features, memory and storage size, functionality and ease if use, this is the best. It is also free with no advertisements. I replaced my car's Android navigational unit with this app and use it everyday. Works great off-line and has extra functionality when on-line (e.g. real-time traffic, etc.). Don't respond to "better route found" message or auto-reroute will fail.

I like an interface of the app and find it very suitable for me, but I realized that maps for my country (Ukraine) are not up-to-date which causes problems in navigation. For example, Google maps are more precise and contain more data, meanwhile it's impossible to find lots of towns and villages in your search, and also some routes are invalid. Regarding this fact I'd like to ask you to update maps for Ukraine. Thanks.
