Old Maps: A touch of history

When the app was first installed it worked really well, viewing maps the maps was easy and the quality was good. However, recently the quality of the maps is poor all of the maps I have tried to view are blurred, and it does not seem to change with zoom level. To that end I would say the app is absolutely pointless until this problem is correct.

Pretty cool app that makes it easy to explore maps from many different sources on the web. I would give it more stars, but the area in which I live isn't represented by very many maps. Sometimes maps appear blurry at first, but this is because they are very high res and need time to fully load.

The app idea is fantastic but the execution is not as good as it could be. Some maps fail to load while others are blurry. There is an overall sluggish feel to the app as well so viewing maps in other places is difficult to navigate to. Improve things and this is deserving of five stars.

It's a really great idea for an app and I like it overall but the app itself stops responding after closing full screen ads. I can live with ads for free content but apps breaking because I don't want to/can't get the paid version, that's my limit.

The first thing you get when you open the app is a notice saying it's for an older version of Android. It doesn't work. Maps are all out of focus, if they open at all. No point in having an app in store that you know won't work. UPDATE IT OR REMOVE IT!

Poor image quality of maps and freezes phone if you don't agree to pay for ad free version, also deleted my wallpaper and screensaver without permission. I would give zero stars if allowed and would NOT recommend installing this app; you can find better quality old maps using google without unnecessary hassles.

Informative and educational. This app provides links to some high detailed maps of the area you are in or search for. Does have a minor issue with recent updates of Android OS. I have managed to find some interesting local features due to this app. Great fun for exploring.

I see that the app maker has still not fixed the problem with the blurry maps,the app doesn't auto focus and therefore remains blurry after almost a year now,the only way to actually view the map clearly is to press the nls at the bottom left of the screen

An awesome application. It gives historical maps which is otherwise not accessible to a layman. As a person interested in local history I had tried to get maps of my region, but survey museaums did not allow me to take map pics but in this app I am getting it.It helped me in knowing the old names of places near me. A great application for history hunters. Cartography enthusiasts.

well, I would have given it five stars if you could view the OS maps, just a blur, the older maps while being interesting are not accurate but nevertheless very viewable. Unless it worked well as the adverts, I wouldn't bother buying it

Don't understand why other people are having problems, it works fine for me on. Google Pixel 3 with the latest OS, and all of the maps load fine (no blurring) in fact the level of detail is amazing!

i love the concept of this app and am really sad i had to stop using it, but it allows full screen ads to pop up even when not using the app. i could deal with it if it was while using the app, but it allowed disruptive ads to pop up whenever i was using my phone, even with the app closed. nope.

This app used to provide old maps, which clearly displayed on the screen. Now the maps are blurred, to the point where you cannot see where they are maps of.

Easy to use, and very educational. I use it a lot. Find the area of map and year that you want to view, and the app supplies you with a link to a high res image of it that you can zoom in and view.

so far, worx awesome on samsung tablet and i love them old relief style maps, good for figurin where old rivers and creeks (water sheds etc) are, and while i am using older tablet, my smartphone has same app, will see how that one goes later... thanks eh'! @nd stay healthy

App keeps crashing because it's based on old software. Needs to be updated. Maps are great and clear but App crashes before you get a good look.

This used to be rather good, but as others have said it declares that it was designed for an older version of Android and the maps are totally out of focus and of no use at all. Please resolve this.

Not optimised for current versions of android, and essentially useless. Blurred maps that refuse to zoom, constant error messages. A nice idea, but an unusable app

What? Who designed this app?? Never seen such a confusing app it just randomly gives you old maps of whatever city and country it feels like. Try making an app that is user friendly. Ever heard that term before???

This app is amazingly well organized and gives access to maps you can't easily find elsewhere. it should have higher ratings, IMO. Great job

Very poor quality. Blurred. Unable to locate Edinburgh (Scotland). Plenty of Indiana and god knows where else.

Does not work properly. Maps are out of focus. Unable to see anything. Looking at the same map on my computer every thing is in perfect focus.

Wont run. It was made for an older version of android. Pretty much crashes seconds after launch every single time.

Love the computer version. But they need to update it so androids can use it. the error says it was made for older versions and cannot be run

Not good. I don't know how they expect people to buy a map when the photos are at best blurry. With some you can't even tell it's a map, nevermind where is meant to show !
