OLX South Africa: Sell and Buy

I have used Olx on numerous occasions and am always very happy with the results. It always ends up. Sold. Try it. You'll love it 🇿🇦 Hi. I think the problem lies with me. Just simple ignorance from time to time. Like duplicating pics that you want to sell or entering wrong info. Other than that I think everything is good. Excellent and thanks for the service. Now! What will we do without you guys behind the scenes . Hey! I have an idea. Give better emogies 😀👋

App has been down for a day now can't access my account from my phone on the app or my computer even tried with my wife's phone. When I launch the app it immediately crashes and on the web app it doesn't allow me to sign in with google, all this after I paid to promote my ad. This is so frustrating!!!!!!!!😡😡😡 I've already tried uninstalling the app and downloading again, I wiped the cache and app data nothing works

I have just rejoined this app after dumping for being not user friendly among other reasons. One of my adverts has just been removed for no apparent reason. The stuff that I am selling is neither controlled nor illegal. The advert is not a duplicate. The photos used are mine. To me that is shocking to say the least

Terrible, messages are not delivered. Seems like no comms through OLX is possible. And re-installing the app does not work. So no idea if items are sold, still available or just a scam

I love it, fast and user friendly, problem of recent it keeps saying no longer available, whenever I open it. And it refers me automatically to autotrader, wonder what might've happened.

App doesn't always load so have to restart and I never get notifications for messages sent on the app. This isn't just phone specific as this has happened with multiple phones

Not the worst, but not great either. The search bugs out - when I search it displays a white screen (60% chance of this happening and 40% chance it gives me results). The chat crashed where I was unable to open any messages. And when you search a second time and highlight the already populated search, start typing, it inserts instead of replace. Very annoying.

Great app with great use. Sadly no push notifications of messages. So have lost lots of opportunities to buy and sell. For both hubby and myself and we have both Uninstalled and re installed. Also triple checked Samsung notifications settings. Perhaps we are missing something? Yes also selected notifications on the app. We do get notifications of advert but nothing when a message is received. Developers please help, This has been so for a long time. Phone has been switched on and off too.

Good! Love it. Just many of the adverts appear multiple times. When you filter by area many adverts from areas not selected still come up. Also, can you not set a standard on quality of pictures and reject adverts with hazy pictures? I have realised that some sellers deliberately post hazy pictures of a product and when you view as a buyer it is not what you expected. Some post pictures of the product when it was new and when you view it's different. Great place to shop for bargains!

love OLX and the way it self navigates to creating posts and adds relevant to my taste From a performance review, easy to use, super fast page to page, and app layout finger friendly... Now from a business perspective, not many leads received, in fact not one to date. Many inbox messages, but they never bother to reply. anyway...awesome site and app!!😃

Awesome app, just to many pop-up ads. Don't like it. And my home page keeps repeating the top adds and it's not payed for adds, so it shouldn't repeat itself. But otherwise it's a awesome app. The OLX chat is very very bad, you can't get a hold of the sellers when you're interested in their products because the messages doesn't get delivered to them!!

An update on a previous review, the issue I have is the push notifications. There is no way to disable spam notifications without also disabling the message notifications. The previous response from the developers was that the notifications will dismiss themselves after some time. Not only do I not think that is an acceptable excuse for multiple spam notifications every single day, many of them also do not automatically dismiss. This really is not acceptable practice.

Ever since the update the time it takes for an ad to go up after you post it has grown from a few hours at most to a few days at least, i don't know if this is due to a new algorithm but it makes editing existing ads a serious pain because everytime they completely disappear for a few days until they're verified, other than that i haven't had any issues with the app and it has been really useful.

My ads are getting rejected, because I am using stock images according to them. Even though I design them myself using vectors and unique fonts, while some of my ads get accepted, that is designed the same way. Search function is broken. If I am searching in a certain city, I get one result from that city, and the rest in other parts of the country. OLX is inconsistent at best.

Hello Olx I've used your app for quite a while now and I've seen it evolve over the update, but since then I've had countless issues. I always delete message but when I log in to olx on another device I see those messages again. I have advertised many adverts and although many people have contacted me for my adverts, not one of them have bought from me whereas on gumtree few people contact me but they are the ones who buy from me. Which brings me to my last issue, there are way to many scammers, whether it's people who sell ads or people who message about my ads. Please could you try fix these issues because I really to enjoy the interface of Olx compare to other online selling/shopping applications. Keep up the good work in terms of fixing bugs and issues. :-)

Working fine But you need get rid of those who use the app to do fraud they post an item at a certain point but wen you contact them they will tell you a different point and will ask for a deposit before you see an item after you travel a long distance to get to their destination The App is 100%

Works as intended👍. Sell your unwanted goods for free, or pay for high priority advertising to sell your goods faster. Easy to use and no pop up ads. Hard not to give this app 5 stars.

Really needs a search for your own ads on your seller profile. It's hard to find active posts eg. Of 50 ads you want to edit 1 without paging thru all. Also would like to turn off notifications for updated ads & keep notice of new messages Or just have a sound-switch for different notices. My phone is always beeping. I need to know only when it's serious. Also, would help to have better quality/size pictures. In short, the app & system are a success, safety measures in place, help a lot. Thanks

I used to use OLX daily a few years ago and the new format is still taking sometime to get used to... I have two challenges, the first thing I have picked up is that I cannot read the message responses properly and I think this should be resolved quickly and the second is that when I select a specific province, other areas deals are still displayed.

Would really like to see who lam dealing with on the other end of chat(not just a name), if that does not infringe any privacy policies.it makes the experience more personal and real. Also think there should be an option of paying through other means if one wants to opt for paid advertising ( maybe you should engage network providers so we can pay through airtime recharge).

Its a good app and easy to use. But a usefull feature would be if you can exclude a specific place from your search for example i want to search in gauteng but i dont want to see add from Johannesburg beacuase theres like 10 adds for a car saying they're from different dealers but its clearly the same car, and its very irritating when i get to jhb in my search as i see 10+ adds for each car there. There shouldn't be allowed to be so many adds of the exact same product from a bunch of retailers.

The app is one of the better ones out there. It's easy to use, with nice filter options. My only reason for not giving 5* is that people's adds stay on the app too long. Even after items has been sold, adds stay active. I understand that its up to the seller to mark as sold or deactivate, but I feel OLX sould delete an ad if there is no activity from the seller for more than three days. Just an idea...

Easy to use and locate most products, but I'm not sure about updates as some stuff reflects fresh and recent posts only to discover a stale advert.. But so far so great.

Awsome app ive been using it since I can remember I've got one sugestion. Add a thing where if you post your add you can select "bid" And then you will have to choose a starting bid price and then its a open bid war

I am having a great experience. It is a nice app, and I have found the phone I wanted for a long time, found it on a lower price. I thank the one who created this app because it is easy to use, and there are so many items to buy.

I wish I could give no stars. Yesterday when I wanted to use the app it told me that this app doesn't exist in South Africa anymore. Today I found the app and downloaded it and still it doesn't work. Won't recommend this app

Great app. I previously got jobs, from the ads I posted on OLX. It's the best app for buying or selling, job seeking, etc. Go on try it. Download it. Enjoy it.

Why do you keep rejecting my ads when there is nothing wrong with it? I have posted numerous times on this app without any problems but now I'm considering deleting it

Hi, notifications are not being delivered as phone pop ups. I have complained about this twice. My messages are not being read and I have to login to check for messages from potential buyers. This is hindering sales and it's a serious problem. I'd appreciate some urgency as my second message was not responded to I have sent two messages to support with no response the second time. The first time was to check my phone settings which is not the problem.
