City of Omaha no longer responds to requests on the app, per the message in the app.
Love My HomeTown
I'm glad that this was made! It gives we the people an easier way to report things and get news!
My experience with this app has been pretty positive. Off the 3 or 4 things i have submitted (pothole) they have been fixed within a week. The only negative is it makes it a little too easy for people to pry into others lives. Why are people turning people in for parking on their property, or parking their trailer on the lawn. People need to move on and not worry about what other people are doing
You can post things and there is no follow up or they flat don't take care of it. All you have is a reply they got it or cancelled it. Some are never up dated. I deleted the app. and email the mayor's hotline and see if that is any better.
Worked on my phone with android 5.1, but now with 6.0 it crashes. Also the city is either slow to respond, or never responds. Many of my complaints are years old. Mostly people parking on sidewalks.
When reporting an issue, you get notice that the ticket closed, but not whether the issue was resolved.
Good ide, but hard to check staus and it gives no information when something is closed but not resolved. Plus I often can't put in report due to "No internet" even though I'm on 4G and Wi-Fi
Communication is the key to fixing problems; this keeps the lines open! Ty!
Best thing ever don't have to figure out who to call when there's a problem
Easy to use, no complaints.
For a consulting firm that has done these apps for many cities, it is sad to see how under tested and unpolished it is. Plenty of good developers here in Omaha, I don't see why the city outsourced this. ...Just updating for my Droid Turbo 3 years later. Still broke.
I reviewed this app a year and a half ago and have seen some improvements worth mentioning. When a ticket is entered you receive updates on its status. The interface seems more clear as well. Still needs some visual improvements and more freaking updates would be welcome. I wish it had links to other Omaha city apps like Park Omaha.
Love it
Love the fact you dont have to call and bug them or wait on hold and you can see the progress level of your report. Plus you can view if someone has already reported and vote it up so its not being reported multiple times again wasting employees time. Great App.
Easy to use. The city fixed the road and it is a job well done.
No one follows up on the submitted tickets and most never get resolved AT ALL!
No response from the city on 5 reported problems.
Looks like the took off the map so you could see all the other reports the city isn't taking action on. My last report of a playground (sand area) being covered in sand burrs only took 7 weeks to treat. Thanks City of Omaha!
