Omulu ou Obaluaiê é o orixá da humildade, senhor da doença mas também da cura e médico dos médicos, durante o dia vem em forma de cura, sanando todos aqueles que necessitam, à noite vem como a morte, recolhendo os que de alguma forma chegou a hora. Filho primogênito de Oxalá com Nanã, Omulu era dotado de uma grande criatividade e timidez, foi o precursor da caridade, da humildade e do desapego material. É por essa razão que os filhos de Omulu não devem comer caranguejo.Seu choro atraiu Yemanja que com seu grande instinto maternal cuidou dele como uma mãe e envolveu seu corpo com palhas para proteger sua pele dilacerada. Ele cresceu e continuou usando as palhas de modo que ninguém mais viu seu rosto pois quando cresceu Omulu decidiu que não queria ser julgado por sua aparência e assim cobriu seu rosto com uma máscara de palha e abandonou a companhia dos demais orixás passado a viver sozinho da floresta.Na floresta ele tornou-se um grande feiticeiro e aprendeu a usar todas as plantas e energias da natureza tanto para a cura e salvamento como para causar doenças e intoxicações. Omulu é o senhor da magia e é também considerado como o responsável pela passagem dos espíritos do plano material para o espiritual.Vez passou que havia uma grande festa entre os Orixás e depois de muito tempo Omulu resolveu reaparecer.
