OnCue Plus

Remote configuration is very limited. Can only set testing schedule details but can't even turn on auto testing. Does provide notifications of events. The back button on my phone does not exit the app. A bit of a hassle to go to have to go to the list of recent apps and remove from memory. The new version requires a login everytime. A real hassle with a secure password. The latest version is a step backward in functionality.

Doesn't work on slow Internet connections, generator puts a ton of useless data on the LAN (thankfully, not the Internet connection itself), and requires Internet, even when the generator and app ARE ON THE SAME LAN. When the app decides the generator has lost connection, you don't even get "most recent status". Just an error, without any useful information.

Local dealer installed a 12RESV ten days ago. OnCue connected and we have been able to monitor the generator status. BUT, this is NOT an effective generator 'management' app it is advertised to be. I can't change the day/time of the exercise. I am unable to start an exercise from my Android phone. When I try to edit or set up the exercise, the manual says to choose Unloaded cycle with diagnostics. Well, that choice isn't available on the app. So I chose 'none'. Could be a much better app...

The only flaw that I could see was that the exercise timer cannot be programmed through the app. One must go to the actual generator to set this function. It would be to the advantage of Kohler to allow the operator to set the time date and other functions through the app. I really don't appreciate the idea of going outside in cold weather to set functions that could be done in the comfort of my home. Other than that it's a great system.

App logs me out once a week, so I never get notifications. The error notifications when I do get them are so cryptic that I have to email the company to find out what the heck they are. Also the app doesn't actually do anything. You can actually shut your generator off if it's running or turn it on, but you can't schedule maintenance you can't do anything meaningful. I would say that this app is more of an afterthought than anything else just so they can say that they have an app

For all the hype, it does almost nothing except allow you to start and stop the generator. You cannot change your exercise times, or much of anything else. Kohler would not give me the MAC number of the controller so that it would run securely behind my router's MAC filtering. I would not pay any money for the OnCue system, and am not sure if it was even worth burying a CAT5 cable for it. Disappointing, for sure.

Difficult to read small text. Unable to end app. Difficult to navigate. Newest version is still terrible. Still unable to end app. Important parameters still difficult to find. Adults need to develop this app not children. Can not edit the timer or other controls. Latest update disabled the biometrics sign in.

This is a decent app, however does not provide accurate information as it's designed. Had a piece of equipment replaced in this system almost a year ago and was told it would reset and provide accurate information and that hasn't happened. Not sure what the problem is. Worked fine until this equipment was replaced.

3 times since January 1st it has lost network connection. Genset is hardwired. I have to go outside, disconnect the battery for a hard reset. Not good in snow,rain & cold. Why it it dropping network connections. I paid extra for this option.

Instead of fixing bugs, Kohler decided to add fingerprint verification! The OnCue app is the ONLY app on my phone with its own fingerprint verification. Why? As many others have mentioned, this app cannot be used to control any generator function. Why is fingerprint verification is needed to prevent unauthorized access?

great app. tells me when the generator exercises, when it runs during a power outage, wen it stops running, battery condition... No issues, no hard work...just a great thing to have!

Not as much control as expected. Shouldn't I be able to change all settings from the app? Things like time and date on the controller? Maybe I missed that but it looks like it's only available on the outside control.

The update that just happened in may 2020 removed a valuable parameter that was monitored. It was percentage of output that the generator was producing on my 6vsg Model. Not sure why they removed this. This genset directly charges our 48v battery bank and it was a very valuable tool to see the state of charge of our batteries in our off grid house. Not sure why they need to change things that are working.

I have had this app for over a year. Installed it when I bought new 12Kw generator. Back ghen it was awesome. When my generator started up, I got a push notification, that it was running. It would notify me when it shut off and when maintenance was needed. It was always logged in, so I just touched the app and voila, everything was there. Voltage source, rpm's, frequency. Somewhere along the line, Kohler SCREWED it up. Now I have no idea when my generator is running, etc. FIX THIS PLEASE!

On Cue Plus works great! I have tested my generator a couple of times using my phone. It brings a lot of confidence and comfort to be able to do this as well as having a way to monitor the system in real time right from my living room!

No way to Stop/Start generator via the app. This is crucial for anyone who travels and doesn't want to have the generator running around the clock during extended power outages!

If I saved my biometric fingerprint as a sign in method why would you regularly forget it and force me to enter my pw? Biometric sign in should be saved and Users shouldn't be prompted to enter their pw just because your app had an update. Poor user experience. And yes save username is checked.

The entire idea of oncue plus monitoring is great hoever. You can't clear the auto recovery fault issues that have been plagued the new CONTROLLLERS. THESE ISSUES ARE NOT THE CUSTOMETS INTERNET PROBLEMS, THEY ARE THE KOHLER DESIGNS FAULT CORRECT THEM AND YOU WILL HAVE A GREAT AND HELPFUL AP.

Like others have commented, the app is disappointing if you want to monitor and understand what your generator is doing. Even one of the most basic parameters, power being supplied by the generator (either Amps or Watts), is not displayed, even though the data is available to the controller using their technician SiteTech program. I think the main use is to monitor the number of hours your generator has been running.

App notifies me immediately when we lose power and then again when it is restored. Also lets me know that the weekly test is performing.

Battery was changed a month ago, OnCue disconnected. Paid Tech to come out, he updated firmware and could not get On Cue connected even adding a wifi extender inside my house!

The app works but the generator interface is terrible. Extremely difficult setup and usually requires a reboot 2-3weeks.

Has some bugs. Like doesn't accept my email addresses so I can receive notices. Do not get any response when I send a trouble shoot to them.

Limited functionality, basically status info and notification. Very little configuration capabilities.

A must have accessory for your Kohler Standby Generator. By far, the most intuitive mobile generator platform for a residential unit. So much more than monitoring. Exercise your unit, stop it, start it, monitor all parameters.

Provides Informative Info and notifications. I have not used all scheduling functions as yet.

I'm able to monitor my system remotely which is great. This feature gives me the confidence that I needed to feel good about my investment. Thank you.

not very reliable. still lacks a ability to control generators remotely i.e, shutoff when generator is running during power outage.

Tremendously helpful app for monitoring my generator at my vacation home. The remote exercise start is a terrific feature!

New system. Does not recognize the generator password that the generator established. It recognizes the serial number but not the password
