OnePlus Gallery

Ive used this app for years, and have gotten used to a lot of its features and quirks, but when scrolling through "all photos and videos" it starts lagging like crazy. I happen to have about 15000 pictures on my phone so I assume it's trying to load thumbnails for all of them. Please optimise for larger gallery sizes. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue.

half of the videos keep disappearing most of the time randomly. sometimes all of them will just disappear and then randomly come back. Even though they are always there in my files, after i download a video for example, it wont show in this app most of the time. I also noticed when I trim a video the quality decreases. Doesn't make sense why it does that...unusable. All of these problems happened after i updated to andriod 12. It has become so bad and annoying to use the app, needs a fix ASAP.

The newest build for Android 12 is very annoying to navigate. The "photos" portion is what you always start on and is unpleasant to attempt to view any photos/videos with as everything is a different size with no consistency. Having to swipe over to view albums isn't the worst thing, but having the ability to change what page is the default would be a step in the right direction.

Broken since Android 12 update. Once you delete a photo, it's gone forever, no the recently deleted folder does not open. It gave the choice upon update to have newest images on the bottom, with ability to switch it. but now there is no way to switch it back, the option is not there. It also loads in to photos and not albums or the 'All' folder. The whole update has been frustrating.

The app cannot handle having many photos. It just keeps reloading and glitching. At a point, I was stuck in a loop where the app would load my photos, which took like 5 minutes, I would try to look through them, it would freeze, I would switch out and come back (within 10 secs later), and I would be back at square one where it would be loading my photos again. In addition, it could not handle all of the photos types I have. Just a bad stock app that tries too hard to be like iOS photo app.

The gallery has been lagging so bad that it ends up crashing most of the time. Even after clearing my gallery by a major chunk, there still seems to be this issue! Everytime I access the photos through the camera, the gallery opens, gets stuck and closes again. I have to repeat the same action in order to access the photos again. Quite a disappointing glitch.

Since a few months ago, the app has been extremely, extremely slow. Like, you can't even scroll slow. It might register a scroll movement, but it'd perform the scroll a few sec *after* you scroll. Images load incredibly slow, and many times the Gallery app has to force close. If you scroll enough, or go through enough images, after a while the app will suddenly work perfectly fine and smooth. It's as if it's trying to preload everything, which never happened previously. Only happens on this app.

Deleting photos takes forever, although that's probably down to the 7T's destroyed filesystem and cpu scheduler. I cannot tell if the photo I see is the low res version of one that's already backed up. The face detection is terrible, only tags about 40% of a given person's photos, out of those too it usually cannot identify the same person from a few years ago. Moreover, there's no option to merge persons. Disappointed with the gallery and cloud service both.

Cannot make a collage also cannot edit as per our requirement. Cannot see images downloaded from whatsapp. All the photos from my previous phone has been mixed up in One plus. Its so difficult to search the required image especially because its related to my business. Cannot remove recycle image option. If I want to delete any image it still stores in recycle bin. Everytime you have to delete same image/video twice. Samsung Gallery is much much better. One plus you need to update.

Using One plus 8 pro 256 GB. App lags so much I switched to a Third party app. This app crashes every single time I use. I cross checked my issue with 5 other one plus users, everyone is having the same issue. I don't want any fancy automatic stories type features one plus. I just want a normal app that shows me my photos without taking one min to go from one photo to other.. for God sake fix it...this is the most basic thing... it's been 1 year... please, fix it

My Albums keeps disappearing since I upgraded to OS 12 on OnePlus 8 Pro. I only see all photos in the Photos tab. When I click the Albums tab it says No albums. Sometimes I would clear the App's cache and the albums come back. Sometimes they wont come back until I restart the phone. Sometimes even after restarting they don't come back at all. It is a very frustrating experience. I have installed all system updates to date

This gallery app has become terrible. I can't even scroll & view photos normally because it lags so hard my screen is having spasms. Fix this. It's been perfectly fine for years then went to complete disaster and it's been like this for months now??? Why "fix" what ain't broke before, but now that it's been actually broken for months there's just no fix or going back to a previous/non-laggy version??? Why???

Why did you change the app? It got way, way worse. It's way harder to tell where one image begins and ends now. I don't need some stupid highlights view, I just want to browse quickly to find the picture I need. I'm so sick of seeing super basic, usable apps getting "overhauled" into bloated monstrosities with garbage usability. STOP.

OnePlus developers doesn't want to fix photo gallery issue. As it slowed down from past updates plus most of the pics cannot seen in the photo library. Users will have to think about switching brand if problem can't be fixed. It's been a more than year all users complaining about similar issue but no solution has been provided. As OnePlus just targeting on launching new phones they have completely overshadowed application support.

The app keeps getting stuck and it's annoying. Can't even scroll through the pictures and they take forever to load. It pops up a message everytime "close the app or wait" while checking pictures or videos. Get the bug fixed because it's pathetic. I wouldn't even want to give a single star.

The more you fill it, the slower it becomes. To the point where it doesn't even react. OnePlus has always been a company of cutting corners and low polish on their products. It really shows. You pay for a cheap product, you get a cheap product. This is evident in everything they do; from hardware and tech to software and updates.

Anything you "move" into a folder causes 2 pictures. Mind you there is a "copy" move that does the exact thing. Plus, then on its own, makes another picture in Google photos. If you backup your folders many pictures disappear and I've not found them after months of looking. If you delete a picture/screenshot that you've put in a folder all 3 copies are deleted. Sometimes the old gallery is the best gallery. Looking to see if I can remove gallery from my phone.

Sometimes when you open the gallery, the photos just start to reload back. Kinda worsens the experience that you have to wait for those thousands of pictures to load and it just dosent feel fast. Coming from a mid range Samsung phone and even that gallery feels much faster than this gallery app. Hope this issue gets fixed soon. Update: the loading has gotten faster but still inconvenient at times

This app was tolerable until the recent update. I don't know what they were thinking, but the app is terrible now. You used to be able to organize your albums in any order you wanted, but they took that away. Now it organizes itself by the last album that was added to. Which, if you have some sensitive images in an album, you don't exactly want that at the top of your album list. You can't rename your albums either. Please fix this app, and make it actually useable.

Edit: I had ranted about how slow this is. I'm glad they listened and made it much better. But it's still weird to wait for a fix for a thing that got broken by themselves. Anyway I appreciate the effort. I wish I could turn off the automatic story/memory creating thing simply because it's terrible at choosing the right photos and wastes resources (I got a new one when phone was on battery, and the video takes up space).

Terrible bugs. 1. When trimming videos, no matter what video it is, the size of the video skyrockets. I can trim a 10 second video originally 5mbs to 5 seconds, and the size will go up to 20mbs. Why? There is no fix for this. 2. Whenever playing videos, the first 1-2 seconds are always cut off. You can't rewind and watch it, it's impossible. The only way to see the very beginning of your videos is to download another gallery app.
