Very laggy, and unusable when you open the keyboard in the document and then press the back button to close the keyboard the entire document becomes untouchable and the only way to continue is pressing back again to close the document. It has the potential to be the best mobile office app
May 2022 Update A major Android update you say... And still a mobile app without a mobile view. ---- Windows version I give 3 1/2. Still needs some work. Android app is so behind. Just try to edit a document on a mobile device. Can not even read the text. Have to zoom in and scroll left and right.
Completely unusable. I recently switched to this app on PC and Linux and have nothing but good things to say about those. Spreadsheets don't always load as I pan around and in text documents it doesn't recognize spaces when I use gesture typing. I think this app has a lot of potential. If they could only fix the the major bugs. I'll try it at some point later to see if the issues are fixed.
I really love the web version of this program. The app does have some problems, however it has allot of potential. One thing I have a spreadsheet with a drop down list. I can see the down arrow to select it, but I cannot click it unless I am using a mouse in tablet mode.
Ok so in my first impression, I was expecting this app to be great because of the persuading thumbnails and features that the developer put on and convince the users like me. But, let me explain the pros and cons. PROS are the: Good UI, Dark mode, Password encrypted files, cloud drive supported, add more accounts, and Passcode lock. CONS are: takes too much time to load a document, it's laggy when typing, low features available and the main thing is that it's very buggy. 1 star â.
Only issue is that it takes way more time to open files than the other alternative office apps, And that too every time. Every time a files is opened, its take loading, even if I open same files multiple times. Even if it's related to fonts, it should happen only once when new font is loaded. Same experience on desktop app as well.
On device document editing works just fine, but I'm unable to use my cloud storage, namely pcloud using webdav connection, everywhere else I have no problem with webdav connection but OO is unable to retrieve files. Edit: in a current version webdav finally work correctly, but it is quite slow in comparison to other app that access webdav.
Good for viewing but be careful when saving. My attempt at saving a .xls file caused 10+ years of data to become corrupted in all apps except onlyoffice. (Exporting to XLSX fixed the problem but most people won't know to try this)
Amazing. Use onlyoffice on pc too glad to find it on Android. Despite the other reviews, you can view and edit files offline with this app. It looks great, files open without issues. This is the best office app on Android I've found.
Very problematic behavior. I create a document. I write stuff. Use another app. Return to onlyoffice. Phone did not have enough ram, onlyoffice has to reopen. Try to recover changes? Yes. Oh ok, let's save them. *Tries to exit document* Onlyoffice: Discards everything without asking. đ
I wanted to give it a "5", but I can't enable dark mode on the Android version, and I cannot set the default, so clicking on an ODT file opens the app. I was told by support that they support only the paid version, but there isn't a paid version available, as far as I can tell. So we'll leave this review up and hopefully developers might let me know. Otherwise with no support and poor documentation, the 2 Stars stay.
Major improvements in latest update. Finally named OnlyOffice Documents in apps and the store. Before it was named Documents so if searched for OnlyOffice, may not find it. Also dark mode, some apps not a difference but in office application, never realized until now just his big a difference it made until now. Still some items I need to check on further but this version is big jump forward for mobile.
One of the better free office suites. I even use the iOS version too. It has a few quirks here or there although overall is gettting better all the time with updates. I like for Roman Times fonts in my docuements.
What a wonderful program! Many features other paid programs have but this program is free. Thank you who ever made this app.
Small issue with the latest update, all my PDF have color inverted (to match dark android theme I guess) so it's kind of hard and akward to use it like that. did not saw the option to disable that - Help
This office suite is fine if you just want to read documents. They should update it with features and improvements like they do for desktop versions.
I always use dark theme (night mode) in my phone, however the PDF viewer have inverted colors to match the night mode, there is not a way to turn off the night mode in the PDF viewer.
3 stars is generous, it can't even open anything, not even new blank document đ
Romanian language special characters don't transfer most of the time if I'm using prediction words from keyboard. Tried 2 different keyboards same issue. Docs take a lot of time to open and close compared to other similar apps. I get an " internal error pls close this app and try again" when i try to open docs from the app itself recent, cloud or on device menus. Never happens when i open the doc directly from file explorer. Tab s7
I don't recommend using this if you're looking to do conditional formatting with ods spreadsheets or using the spreadsheet with any other editor in general. I had problems with it when I initially tried it, emailed support and got no response. EDIT: They got back to me within a day of posting the review, and partially fixed the issues I had with it. Still more fixes needed to be usable, but it's getting closer.
I am very pleased with this app since the most recent update which allowed viewing of offline documents. You can easily upload them to the portal to edit them too. My phone is very slow, but documents load relatively quickly, which is impressive. The developers have done some good work. It confused me that app lets you connect other clouds and then doesn't let you edit documents from them. I realised you can just add the clouds to your OnlyOffice account and edit documents from there anyway.
Seems useful, but it's not clear at all how to connect it to my self-hosted NextCloud with OnlyOffice integration. Update: OK, so I guess this app doesn't do what I thought it does. Increasing my rating since it's unfair to judge it by something it's not. But it still doesn't have the functionality i'm looking for. Update2: They've added the ability to view NextCloud documents, but I still can't edit them.
The Mobile App needs some work. I love the desktop editor and how easy it is to use. But I have some recommendations/requirements for the mobile app. 1) Having online documents available offline for when connections are spotty and still allow opening and editing. This would also speed up opening documents (which takes too long as it is). 2) Allow mobile keyboards to offer suggestions. (for some reason, typing in the app makes my keyboard think I'm typing a password and it doesn't autocorrect)
The app is a great companion app with a few improvements to be a complete Google Docs replacement. For starters, CoAuthor sync doesn't work between opening the doc on mobile and on a PC browser; the mobile user isn't registered as a collaborator thus his edits can't be seen till he saves. That's a problem. In fact, mobile edits require a hard save. Another thing is there is no way to change conditional formatting yet. Still, a great alternative but still needs a few more improvements.
OnlyOffice is typically great. However, this app leaves a lot to be desired. Simple and basic things like long press to copy/paste are not implemented, and the app itself takes a good while to load. Their web extensions and desktop clients work well, but it seems they just threw this together and called it a day.
I can't seem to do anything with this app. Had read I could convert a Google doc into a Word one, so hoped that after opening this app I'd see some files and a way to convert them. The clouds that were offered did not include my Google Drive storage, which is odd since I'm on Chromebook and that's the only storage I have. Can't see a way to connect to Drive, and to see any of my existing files ( yet I granted Onlyoffice access...). Went through all the menus looking for help, instructions...0.
Overall a good app. Basic functions such as shifting and inserting cells should be included. More chart options required.
I am sorry to write a bad review, especially that after reading some reviews I'm apparently the only one having these issues. Basically on the mobile app, there's a loading time that is extremely long to just open a document and then another annoyingly long time when I click on "edit". Then when in writing mode, my keyboard lost the option to use the predictions, which I'm using a lot. Also the button "backspace" is not working. In other words, the writing experience is a disaster.
