I see a lot of GM responses have "sorry...". There are reasons for that, here's another one. The android app worked for 10 days and then an update came on 10/10/2018 which caused the program to fall into an endless loop, reporting "This version of the application is no longer supported." The support team elevated the problem and I was given a trouble ticket number. End of story? I don't expect to ever hear from Onstar again so I'll be contacting Chevrolet. Onstar is on my window sticker as an included feature, this is a warranty issue. Maybe this will become a lemon law situation.
No point to the app now that u have to have a monthly plan to use the main part of the app ... the remote access to Start/Unlock. That was the only thing I used the app for, and they disconnected that part cuz i don't want to pay a monthly premium. I do buy the wifi but I guess I'm not spending enough for them!!
The app is okay, but GM and Onstar cripple it after the initial 'free' period given new users, and their monthly fees to reinstate any really useful functions are way to high. This is just another case of cornering the consumer and putting them into a subscription model while blocking any competition (no other vendor than Onstar can access MY car's built in data systems). Frankly, I'd rather have not paid whatever extra the Onstar system and related hardware added to the initial cost of the car and then bought a third party solution instead.
The app use to be very responsive, now it takes much time for it to complete. It occurrs with both auto start and unlock functions. Also, found that it will relock the vehicle after opening with my key fob. Which caised me to be locked out, luckly, I had my phone still on person, to reopen the vehicle.
An app that I liked and relied on was disabled. The update that I was forced to install freezes up. EDIT: However, an uninstall and reinstall seems to have fixed it. Still a bit disappointing.
I am purchasing a used Chevy and it came with the lock/ unlock and remote start feature, through my Chevy app. I inadvertantly removed the app before realizing they depend on eachother. Called Onstar and they expect a monthly fee to be paid to regain the use of the keyfob features!? Onstar should have negotiated better compensation with dealer/manufacturer for these services. Total BS, & for those who love it, be ready.. It's coming. Sad to say.
This app is amazing. In the winter, the AutoStart helps from a distance that exceeds the fobs set range. Also the careless times I've left keys in my trunk or in the car and it locks, this App is quite the lifesaver.
Overall, pretty good, just wish you could adjust the temp in the car from the phone after remote starting, but that's just me being picky. overall, works pretty good.
I absolutely love this app. When I purchased my vehicle and went one year newer, I would have had WiFi. But, I'm good with Bluetooth. I recommend everyone to download this feature.
Always running. I haven't opened the app in weeks yet I constantly have a notification in my notification bar that RemoteLink is running. Has been running 88% of the day. What is going on? Pixel 2 XL Android Pie
Paying 15$ a month to start your own car is CRIMINAL. everyone in the world wants a subscription fee for something. Guess what GM, changing vehicles rather than paying to start my car with you thieves. No salesman ever tells you it's a subscription app when bragging about the remote features. The premium price doesnt even have integrated Alexa, Google Home, Or Android wear support. for 15$ a month, you would think they would give you a premium product. Pathetic money grab.
KeyPass will not pair. The Internet is full of people with the same problem, most have just given up. Pixel 2XL and 2019 Bolt Premiere. OnStar support acts like they've never even heard the word "KeyPass" before when I call.
Up until now I've liked this app, but now whenever I'm driving this app opens? and it says it's running and you can close it, so you hit close, then it opens up again a minute or two later. I don't want or need it open all the time. Other than that I like it.
It isn't consistently accurate.... most of the time. It will say Engine Start failed but it was successful. Connection issues. But when it works I love it!
App works ok but isn't as polished as it could be. Annoying regular reconfirmation of legalese, no option for fingerprint scanner instead of PIN and a host of other small UI things frustrate me
Great tool and app to have, especially in certain emergencies requiring assistance. You can set up to unlock vehicle if you inadvertently leave your keys inside. Truly amazing App!
Stay away from onstar. They will steal from you. They provide nothing. It also doesn't work with the engine off. They keep billing you years after you cancel. I personally have cancelled 7 times. They are still billing me 2 years layer. Full on criminal activity by OnStar. Stay away from them!
App very unstable. Youbhave 50/50 chance to remote start your vehicle. And its most likely during the morning when i try to warm my car up for the my kids and it choose not to work. Good job onstar. And no i cant use my remote because there is no parking space for me near my home. So remote signal cant reach.
I like it. it works 90% of the time. No ads that I've seen. I just wish the car wouldn't cut back off shol soon. ... ...and the app would tell you when it did cut back off.
This is one of the best features ever that GM has put on their vehicles. The only drawback is that it should be included for life with the vehicle instead of having the limit on the number of years it is available.Thats the reason I did not give 5 stars.
I absolutely hate this service. I never use it, and the only way to cancel is to call them, but convieniently every time I try to call they're closed. I can't even downgrade to a cheaper package I will also never use. This service is a huge waste of money.
Was able to use this free on my 2015 Silverado but now with my new 2017 2500HD they want me to pay 14.99 a month to start my truck or unlock/lock my doors. Absolutely ridiculous, should be free like it was on my 2015 for 5 years or for the lifetime that you won the vehicle. That should be the perk of buying new and not used.
Great app with many abilities, every car should have this. I wish I could just pay $1 a month for the full app services, as I don't need everything else that comes with the full service/price.
Seems to work more often than not. Constantly get messages that the app is running, when I haven't used it in days, and using battery.
Was good but now it's being discontinued. So glad I now have to download separate apps for each "brand" instead of it being in one place. That's right GM, let's make it harder to own more than one of your cars. And the morons wonder why they keep losing customers.
I like the app. and acutually was able to unlock the truck from my house when my wife was at work and locked the keys in the truck. And not in the ignition. Only recently has it been sending messages to my phone that remote link is running even when I drive my old 2003 Silverado. Not a big deal as i just close the app. but somtimes annoying when it does it several times.
