OnSwitch : Philips Hue / LIFX

App wont open at all. I keep getting us a message that it had an error -100 while downloading effects packs.

Very high priced. I do think see any previews and can't find a way to restore past purchases. $30 subscription for a year? One time I'd be all over it but forget subscription models, especially such high priced ones.

I loved the app when it used to work (on Android). Then it started always freezing up. After several minutes, it would eventually work. Then in addition to freezing, it started crashing...more and more. It would work after restarting though. Now it never finds my smart bulbs at all. Never works or recovers from this. Developers have apparently abandoned support of the app on Android. I'll be uninstalling it if it doesn't start working again soon . Be wary of spending money on this app.

Originally this app froze at first. I was about to submit a bug report and it started working. Connected to both my hue and lifx bulbs! I was thrilled! After awhile, the app froze and I closed out of it. Ever since the app just freezes after opening and never recovers. I've also used this on my lgg2 and it has the same issues. Please fix these issues and this would be an amazing app. I wanted to buy the other effects but can't even get the app to load fully.

The most expensive app ever. You have to buy every locked scene individually (or in some cases small groups). Whilst the free stuff is good, as is the UI, stick to apps like Hue Dynamics that does the same thing just as well at a fraction of the cost. If you ever offer £4.99 (a fair price, in line with other Hue apps) to unlock all features, I'll revisit my review.

Great App, love the effects, only issue in have is the app will cut out and pause if my cell phone has no activity after a few minutes. which is very annoying during fast pulse. if the phone isn't touched it will stop the affect and freeze the lights on the current color around the 3 minute mark. I would give this app a 10 if that bug could be fixed since I don't want to babysit the phone and keep turning it on so the affect wont freeze. should be a fix for this.

My only app that gets hung up for some time before being able to interact with it upon opening. Seems badly managed as no longer connects to Philips Hue and app doesn't provide me a way to reconnect, else that feature is also not working on the app. Would recommend you stay away else get stuck with a useless app. Edit: The app is alive, seriously good job by the developers. Interface is smooth, no minutes worth of lag anymore.

Love the app, but could you Please make the 'Smart Bulbs Not Found' page dismissable? It is connected to all my lifx bulbs, but acts as though it's not and just loops me through the connection page over and over. It's quite frustrating.

One of the best Christmas light apps I've ever seen. Absolutely love it. Will be a lifelong user. Can't wait for more holidays to use the other light features!! ☆☆☆☆☆

Garage. First it took four days to load the scenes. Then second it auto connected to the light without the use of my login information. Third I use the off button then I could turn the light back on so I had to go to the original lifx app to turn the light back on.

As everyone else has said before app freezes on startup then crashes. After that it works fine. But why when i put it on candle or fireplace it works for a while then I have to push it again for the effect to continue to work. Would be nice to not have to continue going back to app for long durations

It must be amazing to spend more than 30$ a year for such an app. I'm quite sure that the developers had a lot of fun when creating this app and effects. Because of the high price and my zmail that they did 't answer, I honour them with 1 star. It's the second app that I rate that high! I suggest to increase the price. It may lead to even more customers! If you believe this review is useful, then please 'like' it.

I love this app so much!!! Always been a HUGE fan of the Lightning Routine and the ones they've added for Halloween this year (2018) are FANTASTIC! Totally worth the small in app purchase price. But even if you don't buy any in app purchases this app has so many wonderful routines to enjoy! Sometimes it takes awhile to connect, but don't worry, once it does, you're in for a treat. :-)

Turning the volume down doesn't change the volume. Muting it doesn't turn off the volume. Only muting my phone silences the sound effects. Terrible until fixed. Routines like Halloween don't recycle the just run through then stop after about thirty min. Also your prices for effects are outrageous!

My go to hue app. Been using this for over 5 years and haven't had any issues on my samsung phone or my iPad. You can't program the lights to specific colors like the Philips app but who needs to waste that much time when they have beautiful settings ready to go for you.

I love using the app. however, my big issue is that I constantly have to restart the app constantly, because it freezes. Once it does work, though, it's awesome. I wish they would push an update to patch the freezing.

The program used to work for a few days, now it keeps searching for the Philips hub and not finding any lights. I tried reinstalling the app but the problem's still there. Using this on Samsung Galaxy S8 The scenes are beautiful when working.

Great idea...I have lifx (brighter) and Philips hue lights so perfect to have one controller. Main problem is the group UI isn't very good, but more importantly, can't seem to set a single bulb in a group. I have a single bulb in some rooms and need to control them separately!

The scenes keep stopping themselves unless you keep the app the active focus of your cellphone. No way to preview purchases and a criminally low selection of free scenes. Not a bad app but those things annoy me greatly.

If you're going to have in-app purchases, you might want to think about letting those purchases go through. At least offer the scenes for free until you figure it out. Was my favorite app on ios. Now I'm going back to the stock hue app. Update:. Can now purchase different scenes on the Android app. I just wish all the scenes I purchased in IOs transferred.

I've been a huge fan of OnSwitch since 2016. The Android app went though a period (2018-2021) where it wasn't being supported by the developer, but the latest updates bring OnSwitch back in line with their iOS app. OnSwitch is an essential app for Philips Hue and Lifx.

I read an article and read that this app was the app Phillips should have made. They were right. i wish more of the scenes were a bit cheaper, but its great to have some additional functionality. Kudos.

Outside of nearly blinding myself with the fast color pulse option which didn't adhere to the lower brightness I selected, I like the effects so far! Will be cool to test this when I get more than 2 lights in a room

pretty much unusable as it freezes 99% of time when opening. also, i had the app on my previous phone and i have to repay for the items ive already paid for. Creator just takes peoples money and doesnt fix the issues. Lame.

App is great, when it works. It constantly freezes and renders it useless. It would be nice if they would fix these glitches, otherwise don't waste your time.

Update: the free stuff is fun to play with every now and again. Live events too...... GUi is kinda odd. And was never a fan of the light selection process. It shouldn't be a process. 5 stars though cuz the 6500k setting.

Wow, one thing needs to be noted here, customer service from this app is AMAZING! I've never received assistance so quickly from an app. They resolved my minor issue as well. Thanks I switch🙂

Nice app that works simply and well overall. Would be nice if it also had an Alexa skill for it. Pricing is a bit crazy for the additional effects, though.
