OONI Probe
With this app, you will examine the blocking of websites and instant messaging apps, measure your network's speed and performance, and check whether systems that could be responsible for censorship and surveillance are in your network.
OONI Probe is developed by the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI), a free software project (under The Tor Project) that aims to uncover internet censorship around the world.
Since 2012, OONI’s global community has collected millions of network measurements from more than 200 countries, shedding light on multiple cases of network interference.
Collect evidence of internet censorship
You can check whether and how websites and instant messaging apps are blocked. The network measurement data you will collect may serve as evidence of internet censorship.
Detect systems responsible for censorship and surveillance
OONI Probe tests are also designed to uncover the presence of systems (middleboxes) that could be responsible for censorship and surveillance.
Measure the speed and performance of your network
You can measure the speed and performance of your network by running OONI's implementation of the Network Diagnostic Test (NDT). You can also measure video streaming performance with the Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) test.
Open data
OONI publishes network measurement data because open data allows third parties to verify OONI findings, conduct independent studies, and answer other research questions. An awesome idea but really subpar implementation. 4 times I have run the website block test and in all of them the results were different each time. I later went from the same device on the websites that the app deemed blocked and none of them were. In the end, I can very confidently say that each time the app said that al least 1 site was blocked and each time a different one when in reality none of them are, thus this app can't be used to check internet censorship
A great way to analyze a network, with lots of results. I've used it to compare different broadband providers, and have found it immeasurably useful as it doesn't just check speed, but also censorship levels and lots more.
I've found this app very helpful and reliable. Recommend to everyone. Hats off to developers. Middlebox test appeared missing, but not so; it is now bundled with the Performance tests. Excellent app and support.
Good. My storage isn't enough and Communism party control the financial of China so I couldn't even save up to buy a new phone. I couldn't find a way to earn just from America with good money yet, and truly someone will always view you as a Chinese no matter how you are not acting like them or do like them( probably because I am the only person who is so different) so they do this to you. I will figure my things out and try to buy a new phone to install this app.
unable to copy a single line from the logs. only option is to copy entire log to clipboard.
App seems to be stuck on a screen with fish in a net with no buttons or text and no option to click anything. While I love the idea of the app, it is currently useless to me for the above reasons
Phone got hot!!! Out of curiosity I installed the app. I went through and unchecked the websites that I thought were questionable to be scanning. Ran a scan and found that my phone was running very warm. NOT GOOD! Uninstalled!
A very good and honest service checking your connection thoroughly in every aspect be it software or server revealing the behind the stage manipulations of government and telecom companies! Absolutely recommendable!
Version 2.6.0 is considerably slower to perform the website tests than previous versions. It took more than six hours to run the tests for 22 categories!
Very good and useful application. If ooni probe wasn't there then i might would have never known where my data goes and what the government does.
Please build like a global Ooni Probe Network for everything or something. Very useful. Just observing the results is satisfying and amazing.

Website test causes the app to freeze and lock up.
I love the icon design, very beautiful. I didn't get a chance to use the service moreover thanks for the root install as its for apart of my spyparadharnetics theories for meditation medicine.

I understand the concept and believe it is one application that can provide genuine usable information to support the public and free speech. Recommend this app for the support of your digital privacy and digital privacy of the public as a whole.
Works but functionality is bare. No scheduling and does not work in background.
lmao china is so bad that ~half the tests straight up can't complete (the other half fail). in total 2 websites got through, even the network speed test erred out.
great, but i guess that it's based on the response (200 and other stuff), but what if the page is not the actual the one (for example a blank page)?

Why this app have tracker in it, to find our unique identification ID? Don't use this app, it will be dangerous because the tracker in this app know about your phone's every detail
