Why did it take me so long to find it?! Thank you so very much for your time and effort developer. Just an app which can favorite your worldwide radio stations. One touch, no ads. I am still flummoxed that it exists. So simple and it works! I have eccentric tastes and most of my stations are there (occasionally one is listed but doesn't play like replayscape from Australia). If you don't find it in "search," look up country and scroll (like BBC).
This is a top radio app (and I have tested many) for playing content from all over the world. Thanks and congratulations to the developer. I would enjoy an inbuilt slide show so that on my Android TV I would not need to run a separate slideshow. The ability to add a background slide would also be nice. Last, an option to move favourites in the list or bring the most used to the top. Kindest regards, Rob.
Finally! An app that I can add radio stations too on Android TV! I love it! Also the ability to download the favorites and import them on my phone is amazing. Only downside is it won't keep the order I put them in and I can't arrange the favorites on my phone app. If that would be fixed this would be the best app ever for radio.
Hi..This radio app is the best in the entire Play Store. It has no ads and has a high speed. It does not ask for permissions to access different parts of the phone. All your favorite frequencies can be added and searched with that radio address and added to the list. Is a specialized application created by professional programmers. I have downloaded more than a hundred applications and I only approve of open radio. Thanks to the professional programmer.
Everything on internet radio. Works fine in background, again. I would suggest multiple Google account suport for backups on Google Drive. Or at least the posibbility to change Drive accounts, in case of some issues at Google's end.
I like the free - no ads Open Radio but it starts playing on its own on a qi charger; sometimes for just a second. But sometimes continuous with nothing in the"notification" pulldown. To stop playback I have to go to the app icon, open the app (it keeps playing), go to the display all open apps screen, and swipe the app up-off to stop it. What's going on?
On my Chromecast Android TV 10: 1. Always stops when playing. Usually after 40-60 minutes. No timer is on. 2. When I'm trying to navigate, the choosen option is completely invisible. The level contrast of marked or not marked item is too low. . EDIT: The application is mainly for mobile, where it works without problems. Google TV or Chromecast - for a little improvement .
It's alright. Would be nice if you could add an arbitrary stream via URL and not add to or depend on the public database which isn't complete and doesn't allow for updating or correcting existing station data. Nice that you can add new station to the database in-app. Doesn't show metadata (bitrate, codec) for a station. Unfortunately was unable to cast to a Chromecast - just hangs.
Wonderful app. Using on phone to chromecast speakers. Unfortunately, it loses the connection to the speakers after 30 - 40 minutes. Hopefully, developer will be able to fix this in future. ----- Thanks for the reply. Hey, even Spotify has buggy chromecast implementation, and let's not talk about the pitiful interface of Google Home. Your app is great. Big thank you. 👍🏼 For those who might be misled by silly reviewers: This app is free of adds, and there are wonderful ad-free radio streams out there - to name but a few: FIP, Radio Paradise, SuperStereo, Fréquence 3 (many with lossless streams). Happy listening. 😃
Terrible app that harasses you with ads about baking milk. They won't stop, even if you close the app. I have had to restart my phone several times just to make the ads stop playing. The music does not line up with what is currently playing on the actual stations websites, the app constantly cuts songs halfway through and plays something completely different or harasses you with more ads and then plays more music that does not line up with the playlist on the website of the station listening to
Excellent. Clean and simple implementation of radio browser api. Found all my favourite stations so far. Would be nice, just in case, to be able to add custom radio urls.
Been using this app as my exclusive streaming radio app for over a year. I use it just about every day. Easy to add any public stream you want, and works great with Android Auto. Appreciate the work.
This is how I imagine an ad-free open source application. It also runs flawlessly on an AndroidTVBox. Most recent negative reviews are based on subjectively incorrect device settings (including configuration of the router for Chromecast) and/or shaky internet connections. Thanks again Yurii for the great work and your effort!
By far the best android auto webradio app. Only issue i see on my volvo is that national lists of radios stop around letter C, my guess is a bug limiting the number of radios shown per country. I'm certain this is gonna be corrected so 5 stars! Keep it up
The best distraction-free radio streaming app. Lightweight, simple and easy to use. Excellent integration with Android Auto. It can be used almost flawless on Android TV as well.
Easily the best radio app on play store. Why isn't this the first listing when you search for Internet radio ??
Excellent App having variety of regional channels. Please do this app for webos very much useful for LG TV content store.
Open Radio is the best. Choose any country any radio station. Save stations to favourites. Perfect.
Very nice. Seems to work better then Tunein Radio app. Glad I can finally uninstall Tunein
Great application, easy to use and minimal. One thing I would really like as a feature would be to show text on the screensaver (artist-track). Thanks!!!
Probably the best in this category. Occasionally difficult to close, but very adequate overll!
Best internet radio app available so far on the Polestar, but some important issues are letting down the user experience: 1 - You can only browse through countries when you install the app. This option is gone afterwards, which seems more like a bug 2 - The country listings seem to have a limitation on how many stations are listed. This means that you sometimes cannot choose the station you want (try getting to "W" in UK) 3 - Please introduce search! It would make it so much easier...
I love this no frills, no ads, basic radio app. It has exactly what I want for my Android phone. It starts playing the last radio station played within two seconds of opening the app. The UI is simple and easy to use. I was able to quickly copy and paste urls which I saved on a text file. When I close the application window the music continues to play. Open radio works flawlessly in Android auto, too. I can switch radio stations dozens of times without delays or system crashes. Way to go!
Great radio app that does exactly what a radio app should, play radio stations reliably and well without a lot of unnecessary bloat. The absence of advertising is another huge plus. Although the interface is pretty basic it gets the job done, and when favourite radio stations are selected and stored in the favourites section it is quick and easy to find them. I've noticed it is no longer possible to sort favourite stations (by long pressing on them) but that's a minor issue. Five stars!
Installed it on my Android TV. It looks promising, but under "All Countries","United Kingdom" or "United Kingdom of Great Britain and..." is not listed. Doing a search for it just takes you back to the previous screen with no results - yet browsing under music categories shows stations from "/ United Kingdom", so it's in the database. Another problem is the visibility of selected icons. The slate-grey background makes it very difficult to distinguish yellow from white, or white from light-grey.
Nice radio app with a pause button. Would be easier to use if you add Home and Favorites menu items. A nice to have would be a widget to start a specific Favorite radio station. Good job. Edit: Changed rating for the nice reply from the developer. After using the app a bit I see that the menu items are not really needed. I still would like a widget to start a specific Favorite radio station. Added the 5th star anyway. Will give a 6th star when I get my widget :-)
