Recent update was dreadful. The app has stopped working. Prior to that it was very good, really useful. Developers - please restore previous functionality. This was a paid for app, it's not worth the money if it doesn't work.

26/04 ....Latest update 25th April is a disaster ...after working perfectly for years it now will not run on my phone or tablet. 11/05 ....I have amended my review down to one star now, after two weeks of the app not working the developer has given no explanation here or by email.

Fully functional marine navigation app. A recent update required you to migrate your nav charts to a new folder but otherwise remains one of the best.

Slow, messed up chart quilting, messed up font sizes, user settings. How to revert to the former version?

No longer able to install charts, does not give any ability to change directory to other than opening con directory.

Fantastic app, integrates with all charts and is very easy to use. I am withholding one star only because I can't get it to work with my Vesper XB8000. I configure a TCP network exactly as instructed and with the correct (default) settings, but nothing. Meanwhile my watchmate app is reading the ais info perfectly - only without the map and all. If anyone can help me with this, I'd be grateful!

The application has a lot of nice features but on a tablet it has some issues. I'm using an ASUS ZenPad 3S 10 (Z500M) that has 9.7" display that's got 2048x1536 resolution. I sometimes get dialog boxes, I think mostly in full screen mode, that I can't see the ok or cancel button to get out. The app in those cases ignores the back button so I have to terminate it. I sometimes get crashes although not while navigating. EDIT: 2021 updates have improved things significantly going to 4 Stars..

1200 miles over 3 months this past summer in British Columbia on a 36ft sailboat Islands, narrow passages, major tidal currents and some rapids. New anchorages, coves, and harbours ever night. OCN on Samsung Tab 2, worked great. Every serious user would like a few tweaks to better match their usage, but I recommend it to everyone who asks. Going back north next summer. Have a copy on a laptop, but will take a second tablet as a backup because it is so handy in cockpit. Thanks

app works fine, but since last update i have problem with text orientation. when I switch at north up mode, text is good, but when i'm in course up mode, text is reverse. can I downgrade app at previous version? or, do you have some other solution for me? Excellent App! This is not plug n play like commercial GPS apps. You need to download your own (free) charts. The interface takes some time to learn but it's worth it. I have it installed on a Moto G6 and Samsung 10" Tab. It compares well with other GPS apps.

This paied version will not load vectorial maps and position on charts is off by half mile. The free version loads maps and the position is accurate within five meter. I do not display names on the free version and wanted to try this developed version to solve the issue. For me it did not work.

Unstable! App forcecloses very frequently. Once I get into the menus I can not get out the them 95% of the time by selecting "OK APPLY or Cancel" I have to manually force close the app and open it back up...... Its super frustating and very time consuming. ***Update been working with this app for about two weeks its still terrible. I would get more enjoyment from setting a $10 bill on fire**** **Four weeks in this program is so infuriating the force closes and locked menus I HATE THIS PROGRAM!!

Superb, I've been a user on a mac for a long time and only in the last few days installed this on my android tablet - works brilliantly. Where else can you get a fully functioning chartplotter like this? Thanks to you and all of the team - your work is very much appreciated. Pretty sure the grib file download issues will be resolved soon, but other than that, like it a lot.

Easy to use and works really well. Love the opencpn customizable interface. I could however not get AIS to show ships, but that is just a minor detail. Everything that I actually use, works flawlessly

Nice app but with bugs. When having opened the righthand top menu (dots) and used "OpenCPN settings" in this menu and returning to map, the app stops working e.g. no waypoints or zoom possible. Have to restart the app.

Wow! This application is amazing. Works so well on my Samsung tab s4. I think it helps having a fast processor as it was very slow on my earlier tablet. Anyway, it was, and is, well worth paying for.

Nice app. Going to take a bit to learn it and make it second nature. Have a few issues that are probably simple but I can't get into the forum. The registration process is cumbersome and unnecessary. I gave up after requesting a code over 6 times in two days. Never made it to my email. And yes I checked my spam. There should be a easy way to contact the forum admin from the registration screen. I could not find one.

Great app with features your are looking for (and don't find) in other comparable apps. No adds! Very accustomable to your own needs. It takes a little effort to learn the app and it is most useful on bigger screen Android devices.

Lots of promise but unstable and parts are unusable due to display issues on a new Lenovo 8" tablet. For $10 I expect support but no response from developer. There's a support forum but the registration process seems broken. Edit: developer doesn't respond to direct emails even though he instructs subscribers to do so. Edit: the route properties screens problems are fixed now but the communication with the developer and use of the support forum still difficult.

I have been using the pc version for years and this app is as good, I'm very happy with the way it interacts with the WIFI on my boat to show all the navigation data i need. Five stars from me.

I can get used to the program and all of its repetitive bugs. But is there really no option to change its language yet like on the windows application? The language setting is there yet it is disabled...

Superb navigation app, great backup for the laptop version. Pity its features are not updated often.

I've used this app for some years now. I'm only just now switching to mbtiles and love that feature. Open CPN is a huge gift to cruising sailors. Thanks! Now if only the Android app could run radar pi...

Used to work, now display is freaking out. Same issue on two different phones. I've tried uninstall and reinstall, downloaded maps again, etc.

I use OpenCPN on Windows, it works great. Cannot find the oeSENC plugin on play store to download charts though. App is no use without charts!

Dear developer, Getting trouble while downloading charts from "chart downloader". Whenever clicking on the above tab the application exits and have to restart again. please advice for the above trouble.

Original review was 2 star as it did not work with HP Chromebook X2. Had loading issue with chart elements on v4.8.4. OpenCPN was updated to v5.0.1, and all seems to be working well now. No complaints.
