Horrendous user experience.. 10 seconds to open chat if you click on notification.. no way to join groups, which is the primary way to find events on this platform
Had crashing after last update, posted review here and got immediate attention from the developers. Working fine now, and great responsiveness !
The service is great. I had a tech problem and they walked me through it. BUT there was a problem with non-beginners crowding out actual beginners during beginner-level volleyball time slots. Not only do these experienced players take all of the spots, but then they ruin the vibes and literally shame the beginners for not performing to their level. I had to uninstall the app. Too many ex-college players making their shortcomings my problem.
I've been using this app for a year or so to attend pick up volleyball games. It's been great and an improvement over the previous app that the group was using. I have run into one or two bugs using it, and the app developers are quick to write back to messages.
Our badminton group started using this app recently and have embraced it pretty well. Very intuitive and easy to use. It has handled the attendees, waitlist, payments and refunds pretty well. Would recommend the app!
Unfortunately, I have to agree with other reviews that you will receive zero support if anything goes wrong or you need any help. I tried to set up an activity and I needed to get confirmation from the developer to activate my event. I had to go through endless questions and request for weeks. At the end, I just gave up. It appears that this app is run by kids that don't know how to run a simple business. Unfortunately, if I was a venture capitalist, I wouldn't touch a company that involved these developers.
This app does a great job. Keeps everything simple and a gentle reminder when its time to leave to be at the pick up on time. Overall great app.
The service is rather good. Recommended for everyone to try out. But this Android app could be better and its development is quite slow. Some things are better / only in the web app.

depends on what city you are in but Philly is doing it right. App is easy to use and find pick up games of all sports.b
Can't join group (giving me an error message) and can't search for events in my area. Might be the admin having these things private.

Pros: 1: Rapidly growing social media platform to connect around sports and other activities. Actively working to grow the community and develop it in ways that are helpful to both organizers and players finding groups/activities. 2: Proactive, super helpful team. Responds almost immediately to questions. Open to feedback and concerns. 3: Focused on optimizing user experience, which was very impressive. Cons: Not a lot of activity in my area yet. Closest groups are in Philadelphia, which is a bit far. They are adding more activity in NYC and elsewhere. 4.5 stars until there are more groups and activity in my immediate vicinity.

If you're a pickup sports player, this is the app for you. You can arrange a pickup match with your buddies, or if you're an organizer like me you can schedule events all over your city (Philly) five days a week! If you download the app and don't find players in your city use the app anyway, invite people you know, and definitely share to all the socials. If you build it, they will come. Your friends will join, and then theirs, and so on. It didn't take us long. If the event is pay to play, this app makes it easy to collect dues from your participants. Communicating with them in the app is easy, too. The built-in chat bot let's you talk with OpenSports directly and let me tell you, they are super receptive to a user's queries and input. A+ app to me!

At least in the City of Toronto, you can not find a better way to get in touch with other people who want to kick the ball around, like you. Organize a game, or join it, the opensports peeps are always there to help you get players, study up the availability of grounds, and just generally be an awesome bunch!
I'm an admin of a soccer league, run multiple pickup games weekly, and have even hosted tournaments using this app. It's safe to say I've tested every aspect of it and it constantly exceeds my expectations. Additionally, the team behind the app seems to be making constant improvements, and I can't say enough good things about their support. As a player for many years and now an admin, I wouldn't be able to do my job as effectively without OpenSports.
