OpenSummit

Still missing MANY campgrounds! One of the best, most useful, and uniquely valuable apps I've ever used! Support response is very quick, and feedback & requests for enhanced features (including adding add'l locations, campgrounds, etc) are taken seriously and with quick response. Graphs are superb with clever weather variable option buttons below the graphs, making for lots of info. available at a glance with minimum scrolling! My only feature wish is to have forecasts extend to 7 days-paid ver.

Just installed today and have been a longtime user of opensnow. Love the clean design of this app just like their other app. Makes checking weather on my favorite peaks simple. The only issue so far is the app goes offline whenever I stop using it, though my phone hasn't lost network connectivity. The only way I have found to resolve it is to shutdown the app and restart it. Once this bug is fixed, I'd give it 5 stars.

Fantastic app, perhaps even more useful than the Open Snow app! This is my go to app now for forecasting and maps (especially radar & smoke living in CA). The interface is intuitive and visually appealing and I appreciate having beta about peaks and the slight variations between regions. I am an event planner and having the smoke forecasts is CLUTCH for my day-to-day in CA, and they've been on point throughout the summer.

I've been following BA for the better part of 10 years, his forecasts are about as real of a "forecast" as you can get. He doesn't play up weak storms or down play strong ones. Its always a range of the most likely scenarios, humbly projected. It's been a pleasure reading his weather predictions and I've had fun getting in the groove during those unfortunate times when he lets us snow the mountains are in need of our dances. We ski to ski.

Open Summit and Open Snow are probably the most useful and well-thought apps I've ever used. I am using the online version, have not used the phone app. Incredible amounts of information and layers. I also enjoy the weekly forecast updates they send. There are so many pictures they include explaining everything. I literally tell everyone about it (all my clients) because it is so helpful.

Fantastic user experience and accurate forecasts. I'm used to combing through multiple weather reports and forecasts for each trip, but this has everything that I need at a glance!

Excellent app for mountain weather forecasts with lots of useful additional info all in one place. I've used it often to plan hikes and climbs and found the accuracy to be spot on. I wouldn't think of going into the mountains without checking OpenSummit first.

Excellent for Contiguous United States... but not necessarily Alaska. The maps and overlays are sourced by NOAA, so I would think the temperature/snow depth overlays would be available. I was excited to finally have a visual resource for backcountry planning out here, but this fell short. I don't understand why providing that valuable info in AK is so hard, but no one seems to make the effort :/

Best weather information available for back country hiking and camping. Also use for mountain biking. Very comprehensive and accurate. I also depend on the Open Snow app in the winter. Accurate information makes living in the High Sierra much easier!

One app to guide them all, One app to find them, One app to bring them all and in the outdoors, guide their adventures. I cant say enough good things about OpenSnow and now I'm hooked on OpenSummit. And outside of helping analyze weather for my hikes, I can check weather for Red Rocks shows and be better prepared for whatever Red Rocks throws my way! Love it! In Joel I trust!

Apps looks great. Maybe one of the cutest weather app UIs I've seen. Too bad it's only available for US locations. I really wish I knew this before signing up for and account!

Simply the best app for mountain atmospheric conditions. Rain, wind, smoke, etc. There is an overlay for almost anything. Like most people I purchased Open Snow as it is the best winter snow forecasting app around. Way better than any local forecast for predicting powder. When Open Summit came out I jumped on it.

Serious slowdown, I love the app, but lately it's been extremely slow, laggy, and basically unusable. Open snow still works fine. What a shame given it's 6 stars otherwise

I really like being able to change the map filters to look for different conditions nationwide. It helps to plan hikes and road trips!

I hike alot so this app is great. Especially in fire season with the surface smoke, you can see where it is and how to avoid it. The wind and lightning risk forecast is great too.

Needs a 7 to 10 day free trial cause anybody with sense don't pay for a app without using all its features. Sad it has some features in this app that could benefit me but I need satelite imagery but not for $29 .

Incredibly useful for planning summer trail runs, hikes, mtn biking etc. Made planning for summit and ridge conditions in variable weather so much easier. Great addition to OpenSnow.

Updated my review after finding out they offer a refund if you don't like the service. However $20 is still high considering I don't really know what I'm getting until I pay for it. Maybe I just didn't try hard enough to find videos etc...

Terrific weather and conditions (got smoke?!) app - up to the minute with animated maps and forecasts. Loads quickly, no bugs - well done!

So far app doesnt recognize my location in Colorado here. Still trying to figure it out. I live off-grid but still should recognize location not towns that are 20 and 35 miles away!

As an avid backcountry snowmobiler, my life literally depends on knowing the conditions of the area I'm going into. This app gives me all the important information I'll need to ride safely. Love it. Highly recommend it 😊

This app gives me detailed and pretty accurate information for snow, weather and unfortunately now smoke forecasts. It is really easy to use and is the best place to go for accurate info on local areas

I've had OpenSnow for some time now, and I'm excited they finally released the Android version of OpenSummit. Really cool to make them both part of the same annual subscription, and I look forward to trying it out this summer hiking!

Very grateful for all this information for hiking , snowshoeing and camping. The app is easy to maneuver though and find what I'm looking for.

I wish I like it, but... It is very sluggish, and my cellphone pretty new. Interface is not very intuitive.

Incredibly useful for summer and winter objective planning. Critical for road trips too, easy to avoid weather.

The best forecasts I've found for summits. Almost essential for climbing and mountaineering. The $20 for all access on both this and open snow is worth it.
