The older, negative reviews are aimed at the lack of touch controls. I installed this version specifically for the keyboard and mouse integration. I love it! It's just like the original PC version but a little better. It bugs out now and then - not too often. I'm running on a HTC One X9 Android 6.0
Upset about controls. The whole point of the app is to play the same save on PC, and then continue it on the phone when I'm commuting somewhere else without mouse and keyboard. If you need mouse and keyboard, then I might as well carry the whole laptop with me, it simply defeats the purpose of mobile version. So yea, that's very upsetting.
I'm sorry for the angry review I wrote a few days ago. The problem sort-of remains, some essential windows are taller than the screen at "normal" font and display scale, but I found a workaround. Under Game Options, set the "screen resolution" to "1024x768". I'll see how I get on with playing it. I'm rather irritated by all this lying about the very shape of the screen which AndroidSDL does, especially when OpenTTD hasn't needed that lie since the 90s if ever, but if it plays well enough I guess I'll be happy in the long run. Perhaps the developer could - without making any other adaptations for mobile - get AndroidSDL to report the real shape of the screen and fill in the list of pseudo-resolutions appropriately. More importantly, perhaps we can have some portrait-shape pseudoresolutions too; to suit the tall windows TTD has. I can understand the non-adapted interface given all the extras in JGR's patch pack.
i can confirm I'm a good maybe 3 hours of okaying time in this map and only a few times in the very beginning it crashed but hasn't happened since. i have pixel 2 XL and 10 inch tablet using stylus pen. the jgr patch has much much needed improvements. i ONLY play passenger games trying to connect all the towns and cities and this has every setting and mod needed for the most realistic passenger experience. departure boards!!
It's the greatest android app game I've ever played. All totally FREE! At first, touch-scrolling is disabled, making the game unplayable without a mouse; luckiky tapping still works. So at the main menu tap the settings options to open a purple screen with a black search bar. Tap the bar and enter then 'viewport scroll behavior', change this setting from it's default value to 'move map with LMB'. Final step, have fun playing Openttd JRG, without bothering with a mouse.
5 out of 5 and nothing less. It's amazing the best ottd version (JGR of course) is on the playstore. Only problem is I've got a Note8 and I get constant crashes. Esp. in the menus. This almost never happened on my old phone -note 4 edge.
Great game, near flawless port of the desktop version, and it HAD (emphasis on HAD) a good mobile friendly UI overhaul. But it has since been stripped out and the game reverted to Keyboard/Mouse control. I downloaded this game to bring my OTTD fun on the go, when I only have my phone. I don't even own a mouse/keyboard for my phone, and why would I? The game became literally unplayable, so I can't give it the 5 stars it otherwise deserves. And don't get me wrong, it otherwise deserves 5 stars.
Downloaded touch version through link, and enjoyed again! much better (Best, I will say!) game than other so called high graphics games. Just a sinle request, Can you add some diagonal roads also? because current roads can be built in parellel to limits of the map. thank you!
The touch controls surprisingly work! There's no pinch gesture, Ctrl and Shift buttons, and there are a few small buttons, but this works!
Was ok, for some reason the developer decided to remove touch screen controls and now it is almost unusable on smartphone screens.
What many people dont seem to get is that the JGR version of this game is supposed to be keyboard and mouse only, if you want easier access with touch install the normal version.
I love it, I suggest to change it, like add some Traffic Lights, People, Taxis, Electric Vehicles, Infrastructures, Trailer Trucks, High Speed Trains, Night and day cycle, and finally Cars to be added, Please add it I'm the No.1 Fan Of This Game,
*Requires mouse*? what is this? for years this game worked amazingly on touchscreen. Why did you ruin it? I think im gonna need to fork the repo and fix what you destroyed myself. So ashamed in the developer
Keeps crashing, constantly... Love the game so hoping for a fix.
I love this game. However when I try to download the download hangs at 99% and never completes. Very disappointed. Was looking forward to play my favorite old school game.

I think this game is the best. But can you add more british railway NEWGRF please.
This used to be an awesome game but the update has ruined it! I won't be bothering to play it until the update is removed
Game is great A bug the message when i playing openttd it shows message always I can't play it
Havent played in a long time. Came back and key board and mouse need.. deleted..
crashes after every 10 mins....and double clicks everything
A great port if you have a mouse or active stylus device.
i like thiz game but if u guys can add moving people and animals then i will surely love this game
I played the touchscreen version (.25) for a long time, but finally decided to update to .40 as too many new things had been added. I play without mouse or keyboard. I decided to use the game's wrapper to remap the volume buttons on my tablet to CTRL and DEL as those are the keyboard keys I need most. So far it plays fine, though it took a little getting used to. I love all the updates added, especially NRT. Nevertheless, an occasional/barebones touchscreen update would be appreciated.
