Has worked fine for years but something has changed recently and I can't import profiles to my phone. I get "Failed to import profile. Failed to parse profile: ca.crt. client.crt. client.key." The same files import on my desktop app so what has changed? Change it back cos it's useless now. Additional: It's a storage permissions problem. I can only set access to media files, so the app can't parse the cert files.
Since the latest update I can no longer connect. There was an error attempting to connect to the selected server. Error message: OpenSSLContext:SSL:read_cleartext: BIO_read failed, cap-2576 status--1: error:1416FO86:SSL routines:tls_process_server_certificate.certificate verify failed Still works fine on iPad and Mac with same configuration files from Synology.
Last version cannot open .ovpn files and works very bad with files. Also it doesn't show what is problem with that file. I use easyOvpn and I use to use it's ovpn files
I was good, no problem before. Error message after update, on my other clients (PC, iPad) everything works fine. I running the VPN server from synology NAS. The error message is: OpenSSLContext::SSL::read_cleartext: BIO_read failed, cap=2576 status=-1: error:1416F086:SSL routines:tls_process_server_certificate:certificate verify failed
It used to work fine on both WiFi and 3G/4G cellphone data but now I can't connect using cellphone data anymore. WiFi still works fine though.
This version fails to import profile due to permission issue. Under app permission only Media files are allowed. Changing the profile file extension "opvn" to "mp3" works for me, successfully import the profile loading it with with mp3 extension PROFILE.mp3
Was working well when all of a sudden, i can no longer connect. then the config files can no longer be parsed. kindli fix this error
Latest version broke ovpn profile file import. Wasted my time emailing android developer email trying to provide a detailed report only to discover they provided a bogus unmonitored address to Google Play. So now it gets 1-star.
Please add permanent kill Switch for app , both windows and Android version , The current kill switch does not work properly
Great app, simple and to the point. Like others have said the switch button it's badly implemented and it's been that way for years. Sometimes you tap it and nothing happens for some reason. It's probably because they tried to be fancy with their styling of it. I would rather it worked as intended. Other than that great app!
Generally great, very fast and reliable connection. However the lack of support for split tunnel (i.e. don't route the local network) is a huge miss. Even an imported profile that sets "don't route.." still tunnels all traffic. Fix this (and add the ability to edit profiles) and this would be number 1.
Still trying to figure this out, I use this app on my laptop and it works fine, decided to also use on my Android phone but so far, impossible to connect, constantly says: "Authentication error" so I initially thought I had entered the details incorrectly, but no, credentials are correct. What's suspicious is that as soon as I click the import button the message appears instantly, as if it wasn't even going out to check....
Works great. I would give two UX feedbacks: 1. Does not remember the passwords for the VPN 2. When writing a password and revealing what it is, through the eye icon on the right, the pointer goes to the beginning instead of staying at the end of the password. Maybe both are on purpose, not sure, it would be great if those are available.
Works exceptionally well. Very easy to import connection files. I've used this for several years now and had no major issues. My one and only gripe is the connect/disconnect switch is sometimes difficult to click. It responds to clicks (animation changes) but does not actually switch. Outside of that, excellent job.
By-Gingo this app is good! Best Android app ever in terms of user experience. Works flawlessly as far as I can tell. 'User friendly' (anyone else remember that concept?). Connection shortcuts for home screen! Richly configurable with lots of info. Only wish the windows client was nearly as pleasing. Only feature I would like is the ability to use the app to either launch other apps or URL's so it can ensure the vpn first; but that's just greedy of me.
Great app! Works really well, I have a stable connection to my home network. This version however seems to have a bug. Whenever my screen auto rotates to protrait mode, it disconnects my connection and I have to manually restart it. That gets annoying when using it to watch movies. Would love to see it fixed!
This app works great!... except for the fact that it doesn't automatically connect. If you go to an area where the vpn for one reason or another doesnt work, the vpn will give up and not retry when you change networks. Due to the lack of this feature I have to rate it three stars because I have to manual connect daily. (another problem that i have experienced is that the vpn doesnt transfer networks easily, making you again have to manually reconnect the vpn.)
broken after last update blocked websites and accessible websites got swapped. Desktop vpn still accessable so please fix the android app
The new UI font used in the app is awful; bring back the previous font (Roboto), please. The color choices in app's theming and UI, negatively affects UX; the contrasts between colors for backgrounds and fonts have been chosen badly, especially in the light/default theme. Sometimes opening the app takes forever to load the profiles page, because of an unnecessary check at the app's startup, which requires an Internet connection. Also when selecting "Import File", the default tab should be "FILE", not "URL".
Was good for years, recently crashes or disconnects. I explicitly route all phone traffic through it and have it pause connections when the screen is locked. In the last month I intermittently notice it is no longer running and I have no idea how long my connection has not been routed through my network. My backups are over that network well so those stop while it is off. A few times on restart it has forgotten my connection settings and I have to re-import an ovpn file.
Instead of keep trying to connect automatically when waitng for the public wifi connection, 3.0.6 stops and asks me if I want to retry even though the setting is set to "continuously retry". This means sensitive data is exposed as soon as the public wifi is connected. Also, it does not display up/down speed anymore. 3.0.5 works perfectly, why ruined it?
Totally can't be connected. Always error. What is happening?
Great app. Please add the control center button.
Make it easier to open profile file directly from app. When clicked in WhatsApp it says "you may not have a proper app for viewing this content". Clicked on an email attachment it says "Failed to import profile, line is too long" (make the path string long enough). Don't count on it that users know how to find where the file was saved. Fix both errors and you get five.
Does not connect on phone with the app yet it's fine using the software from a pc 😕
Worked from first connect to my own office openvpn server, I have no problems retrieving files from file server.
Won't connect over mobile data only wifi. Unfortunately this app will not allow outbound traffic to my VPN server, only inbound. Changed all protocols and still this issue continues.
Works great... But not consistently I have a von server at home. I use a desktop app to connect my computer constantly. I would do the same with this app, and set my android VPN settings to always on, but the app regularly crashes when in the background and/or with the phone locked. Otherwise the app works great. Just not constantly, which defeats the purpose. Only missing feature: whitelisting of home WiFi (not even sure if that's possible though).
